I've noticed that you've asked about this quite frequently, is it fixed yet? You seem to really hate that rattleOriginally posted by Syed Mustafa View PostBro can u please tell me that is there any rattling kind of sound coming from battery cover located on the tank. If so then please tell me the solution to get rid of it.
Basically there's a minor gap which allows the battery cover to move around and cause that rattling. All you have to do as of now is put double tape to prevent the battery cover from being able to rattle, its a very easy fix. you could even put some of those fancy tapes or whatever around the edges if the looks bother you. Next time you go to SVC, ensure they get it fixed or give a warranty replacement or such

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
The engine ice is available at lets gear up, bangalore (track breed) ,go to facebook and search their page and pm them and they will tell u the details. 😊Originally posted by lakshbhatia25 View PostHello everyone. I'm thinking to change the coolant in my RC. I saw that Motul's coolant has a good review. So thinking to go for that coolant. Can anyone help me in changing the coolant? Secondly, will it ban my bike's warranty? And is there any other better coolant than Motul's one? I tried to search the engine ice but it isn't available in India.
Thank you in advance

KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Hello everyone. Today before lubing and cleaning the chain of my RC, I saw some rust on the chain (I have attached the pics). I just had a question. Will this create a problem? If yes, is there any solution? Or should I get the chain replaced with a new one?
PS- I've lubed the chain now.
Thanking you
Aman

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
While using a new coolant .. say engine ice, should we flush out the existing collant or can be mixed along with the existing one ?Originally posted by lakshbhatia25 View PostThank you so much sir. But now I think I've already changed the coolant to Engine ice about 2-3 months ago

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
As far as i know the rust on the chain means the chain has worn out you should get it replaced because its dangerous to ride as it can break any time. Also take the opinion of ASC bcx they know it better hope it helped. 🙂Originally posted by lakshbhatia25 View Post

It's better to replace instead of just topping up.Originally posted by peeths003 View PostWhile using a new coolant .. say engine ice, should we flush out the existing collant or can be mixed along with the existing one ?

Surface rust develops on a chain quite easily in this weather. Especially if the chain is not lubed regularly. Nothing to be particularly alarmed about. Clean and lube.Originally posted by Syed Mustafa View PostAs far as i know the rust on the chain means the chain has worn out you should get it replaced because its dangerous to ride as it can break any time. Replacement is not warranted for this, replace only if chain or sprockets are worn out. That is the teeth on the sprockets are very blunt or the chain is stretched to a point where it cannot be adjusted to get recommended slack anymore.Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
No, first drain out the existing coolant and then pour the new one as they both are different. 🙂Originally posted by peeths003 View PostWhile using a new coolant .. say engine ice, should we flush out the existing collant or can be mixed along with the existing one ?

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
As a thumb rule try to avoid mixing two different types or even brands of coolant. If you are switching coolant brands, then its always better that you at the minimum drain out the existing stuff before putting in the new fluid. Even better if you can flush it out with some water, preferably distilled.Originally posted by peeths003 View PostWhile using a new coolant .. say engine ice, should we flush out the existing collant or can be mixed along with the existing one
Rust is common depending on where you live and how you maintain the chain. Unless the bike has been sitting for ages and the chain looks reddish with rust and doesn't move at the links, there is no need to change it. just clean it and lube it.Originally posted by Syed Mustafa View PostAs far as i know the rust on the chain means the chain has worn out you should get it replaced because its dangerous to ride as it can break any time. A worn sprocket usually has pointed teeth, a new sprocket has a blunter peak.Originally posted by The Monk View PostReplacement is not warranted for this, replace only if chain or sprockets are worn out. Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Yup, you are right. My statement was unclear. As in the image, the new sprocket teeth protrudes more from the disk (as in pointed), while in a worn out sprocket the teeth wears off, thus the tip of the tooth getting closer to the disc. I don't know if this made anymore sense than what i said earlierOriginally posted by s1d View PostA worn sprocket usually has pointed teeth, a new sprocket has a blunter peak.

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
You should surely flush out the old one. And I think I had did 6-7 times with my mechanic until only water came out (the color of the coolant was not mixed).Originally posted by peeths003 View PostWhile using a new coolant .. say engine ice, should we flush out the existing collant or can be mixed along with the existing one ?
