    6. Not sure if this is related, or is even what i think it is, but near the front tyre, above the disc brake, at the base of the metal pole like thing, sometimes I've noticed a deposit, black color, which very very rarely I've noticed is dripping(at a very slow rate), but I doubt this would be related to the above.
For 1. above: Do you open the throttle while starting the bike ? Never open the throttle when you start the bike, just push the starter button and hold it.. it should normally fire up in around 2 seconds.

    6. by the 'metal pole' i assume you mean the front fork leg.. and going by your description, it looks like a fork oil seal leak. Common on the ktm's. First you can ask the svc to clean the fork/seal area using the fork seal doctor tool (if they have it). Otherwise a fork seal replacement will be required.

For the rest, i would advice you better head to the svc and have them take a look. It could be anything from a bad throttle cable to other things such as a bad throttle position sensor, throttle body cleaning, idle control stepper motor etc.. let them connect their diagnostic tool and check it.

There is a solution somewhere on the forum, basically people have put a bit of double tape at the edges of the battery cover, to prevent it from moving. Effective DIY solution[/QUOTE]
Thanks i will do the same and will see. 🙂

Go to any hardware shop and ask for Rubber Washers. Mostly they use in home water taps. I got 4 for 5₹ and it's awesomely working. You can find black coloured also.

        For the tank :
Do not use feviquick. And why don't you opt for KTM tank pad?
It's just another level of safety. The side one's stick badly to your leather suite / jeans and do not let your body movie while hard braking.

        And for your issue :
        Use Silicon Rubber Sealant.
Cheap and affective. You can take it out without any harm to the tank anytime.

Where do you fill fuel? As S1d mentioned it is best if you take it to the SVC and let them run a full check. To me it sounds like dirty petrol over a period of time clogging the injector.
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

There are 2 rubber bushes that hold the battery cover in place. Make sure the battery cover slides into these bushes properly. Also make sure to push batter cover inside fully till you hear a 'click' sound which indicates the cover is locked into place.

Yup the fork seal was busted. They'll check the vibrations and idling too. I'm sure its not the fuel, I fill from Shell, V-Power, its the smoothest and gives the best mileage among the ones I've tried. I'll fill up from Indian Oil once and check though, just to make sure. Thanks

I don't have the bike with me currently, here's an image that looks exactly like the washers I bought. These are pretty thick and that helps a lot.

Hi everyone, I've been following this thread for quite a while, but this is my first post. I have had an RC 390 for 10 months now, ODO being approx 6000 KMs. Recently I've been experiencing a lot of issues.

                            1. While starting the bike on a cod engine: Earlier, it would take 3 cranks (if thats what its called) of the starter to get started. Now it takes 6-7 cranks on a cold engine. After the bike heats up, it takes 3 cranks itself. Sometimes, right after turning on, even with the clutch completely pulled in, the bike turns off.

                            2. Idling: While idling, the RPM isnt steady, it goes up and down. Along with this, sometimes it gets 'stuck'. For example, if to go up a slope I take the bike to say 5k rpm, even after leaving the throttle, it stays at the same rpm for 2-3 seconds, as if its still being revved. This happens at times while idling too.

                            3. Jerking: While riding, sometimes the bike jerks while accelerating (very mildly though). Honestly, this particular aspect could be a figment of my imagination too, if its there, its minor.

                            4. Power output: This is the main reason why I feel there are issues, as recently, while accelerating, it doesn't have the same effect it used to. To describe it, assume you could say if the power come through a tube, it would feel like the tube is clogged, and the entire output isn't available. It feels like something is holding the bike back while accelerating.

                            5. Vibrations: After second service vibrations were fine, however now, it feels like vibrations have increased excessively, to the point where the bike feels very rough at times.

Judging from these aspects, to me it seems like all these are interconnected problems, caused by some particular problem, but honestly I know nothing about bike technicals.

I sincerely request that I receive help for this, as I don't know what to do. These sort of issues shouldnt be there on a relatively new bike which isnt even a year old. Its really worrying me, having spent a lot of my money on this bike. What could have caused this, I dont know, my riding style is pretty moderate, I do take it up to higher rpms once in a while, but mostly I keep it below 7-8k.

Air filter is one of the possible options, however thats most unlikely, as it was recently replaced during service.

To note, I'm taking to the service center this coming week
                            Thanks in advance!

Would request your help too please

There is a solution somewhere on the forum, basically people have put a bit of double tape at the edges of the battery cover, to prevent it from moving. Effective DIY solution
                            1. Do you throttle while starting the bike(like you normally use throttle to start carbed bikes)
If yes then dont do that, just press the starter button.

                            2. How much fluctuations happens, mine usually fluctuates between 1.6 - 1.7k rpm, if it is more than that then it can be a problem.

                            3. Does these jerks happen at lower rpm? If not then air filter needs to be replaced or check and clean the fuel filter and injector.

                            4. Again check injector and fuel filter, clean them if necessary, check air filter and replace if required. Clean the chain and lube it if required. Dry chain really cuts down the power output.

                            5. How many kms have you done after last service?
It vibrates if engine oil is burnt, chain is dry, you have used bad fuel.

                            6. Fork oil must be leaking, get the fork oil seal checked.

All the things you said point at few things only...air filer, injector and bad fuel.
It might be that the fuel pump guy filled bad/adulterated fuel.
Get the above things I said checked and if possible clean the tank and check the fuel for water.
Also check the engine oil if it needs replacement.

I'm getting it changed this week, but not sure of what decal to put, any suggestions on the following? Or maybe does anyone have any other design they think is good? Would really appreciate any suggestions at all
