Soowww I found out that RC 250 which has been launched in a couple of Asian markets (Thailand/Indonesia/HK etc etc) comes with a 14T-46T sprocket combination ....and since RC 250 is identical to the RC 390 it is safe to assume it would fit in out bikes as well.

Bouncing this off all other people also in case you have a different opinion. Also is someone sometime soon is travelling to Thailand/HK/Indonesia/Cambodia/Taiwan/Malaysia and can help please? ... *excited now*

I dont think engine oil will last that long, I usually change after every 2500 - 3000 kms.
Totally right, if u want a longer engine life its idea to change at 3000-3500kms when 60-70% sane riding and a bit at and occasionally over 8000rpm, if ur always opening up the throttle anywhere between 1500-2500 is a idea oil change time.

Hey guys, recently I had lost my keychain, however today I found it nestled in the bike next to the right side fairing. 2 days ago I had given the bike for the third service.

My question is, for servicing, wouldn't they have had to remove the fairing? Clearly it wasn't removed, as the keychain, being large, would have been immediately spotted. Due to that, I'm a little doubtful about what servicing they actually carried out, could someone clarify this?

If needed, the main parts charged for were:
        Front brake pad
        Engine oil 1.5L
        Spark Plug
        Filter Element (paper type)
        Oil Filter
Totally, I was charged around 3k for the service.

This was a new showroom I tried out for servicing, and I would really appreciate it if someone could clarify this for me, thanks!

The crack is quite big. I didn't feel any noticeable difference in performance and sound in the past week but yesterday, the exhaust misfired multiple times and the exhaust note seemed a bit louder than usual. I decided not to ride the bike in this condition. I've put a small cloth around the crack so that nothing enters while it's parked.
And yes, it will be covered under warranty. One of the service centers has placed an order and told it will be available by 07/07/2016. Will update after replacement.

          1. If it was stuck in the white part of the fairing, they would not notice it. They remove the entire black part to which the white fairing it attached to.

          2. Paid Service Charge for the RC 390 is about Rs. 1000-1200 depending on the region. Engine Oil costs about Rs. 1200 if they used Motul 1.5L. Oil filter, spark plug, brake pads and the filter element would be another Rs. 500. So after VAT, price would have been about Rs. 3000-3300. That's about what every service center is charging right now.

            1. Yup you're correct, it was next to the white part

            2. It was the third service, which is a free service. Not sure what the cost of that is, but I don't believe that they cheated anywhere, it was all prescribed stuff according to service manual, like spark plug etc etc.

            Thanks!

I change it every 3750 km. KTM recommends 7500 km drain interval but I somehow feel it's a little too long. But I did use the oil once for 7500 km and the bike did just fine.
The engine oil will turn black within a few hours or days of oil change. If KTM recommends 7500 km, maybe 5000 km is good enough.

Guys for those of you in Bangalore, there was no review anywhere till now of the Bannerghatta road SVC, so I decided to try it out.

Its a pretty big showroom, with a huge bay area, as well as a lot of mechanics. The Service advisor (unable to recollect his name right now), did a good job, ensured all my problems were noted, and answered all queries well. Regarding the service itself, seems to have been well done till now, all the problems seem to have been taken care of. Washing/Lubing has been done thoroughly, not the casual run of the mill job like other SVCs.

The only area of complaint would be billing, the process from entering the showroom to pick up the bike to finally leaving it took half an hour, they took a lot of time to generate the bill for some reason.

Apart from that, no issues, had a good experience. Sales Rep too seems to be good, as I had spoken with him on behalf of my brother(for a N300)

Cant comment on actual sales experience

Do you really do 7500km between service intervals all the time ? Remember, its either 7500km or 120 days which ever is earlier.
Most folks don't cover such mileage in 120 days consistently(probably around 5000ish max is what ive mostly seen)
If you use the motul 7100, then it should be ok for around 6000km depending on how and where the bike is ridden. Once in a while pushing it to 7500km is ok.
Of-course there is nothing wrong in changing oil much earlier (say around 5000km) if you want to err on the side of caution. The earlier ktm's are scheduled for a 5k service interval, and i personally think around 5k is a pretty safe interval for an oil change considering how hot these ktm singles run.

depending on where and how big the crack is (a pic would give us more info) you could temporarily use a couple of layers of duct tape or the brown packing tape to cover it up.

I'll try to get a pic tomorrow. The thing is it is a bit hard to get the photo right.

I tried putting some tape over but it isn't all that effective. The crack is weird so couldn't get the tape to stick right.
I will try to do it again. But after the misfiring started, I've decided not to ride till I get the replacement. Thanks for the reply!
                    Cheers!

Did you change both (rear and front) brake pads? Or only the front ones? And how much approx you had rode your bike? I have a Nov 2015 RC 390 and it's front brake makes that screeching sound.

Yeah they are pretty good, went there twice it was a good experience. But I didn't had any problem like late bill generating and all

I took off the frosting part by buffing.
You will need an angle grinder(not the pads but the machine), a sponge pad, rubbing compound (1k and 2k) and water.
The light slightly reduced because of the thick glass but it not too extreme.
I changed to hid for both high and low beam so no problem in illumination.
The heat doesnt affect it, the visor is pretty sturdy, I have rammed into another bike at around 30 kmph 2 times (the other guys came out of no where and my brakes werent working too well) and all that happened to the visor/windscreen were few scratches.
