Go to service center and talk to the guys as rev limit cannot be changed by you. It can be changing the settings of the ecu which only the service center can do.

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
How can the rev limiter be 9.5k? It's always 10.5k whether the bike has got the first service done or not. :/Originally posted by Mail2vasant View Post

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
I think they set it at 9500 as a precautionary measure till first service. Btw i am not planning to hit rev limiter again till first service. Will ask them to check this at first service.Originally posted by lakshbhatia25 View PostHow can the rev limiter be 9.5k? It's always 10.5k whether the bike has got the first service done or not. :/

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
You are following a different break-in method? As per the manual it is advised that you keep the revs under 7500 RPM.Originally posted by Mail2vasant View PostI think they set it at 9500 as a precautionary measure till first service. There is a small possibility that it is set at 9500 RPM as a precaution because some people just Rev the shit out of the bike. I think you should wait for the first service and then check if it is still at 9500 RPM.

i sincerely advice you folks to read the owners manual first. most of your questions will be answered if you take the time to read the manual.Originally posted by Mail2vasant View PostI think they set it at 9500 as a precautionary measure till first service. that is just a shift indicator and is not a rev limiter. some svc mechs will tell you its 'locked' 'limited' blah blah. but there is a reason they say it.. just to hope that riders do a decent run in and not rip the bike from day 1.

you are right, but with the kind of 'information' floating around, a lot of people are misinformed.Originally posted by lakshbhatia25 View PostHow can the rev limiter be 9.5k? It's always 10.5k whether the bike has got the first service done or not. :/

instead of reading stuff off social media, the least folks can do is read the manual which the manufacturer has provided.
if they said its rev limited to 9500, then take the bike to them, put it in neutral and rev the bike and show them that it goes past 9500!!

I already read the manual several times. I am reading it since i have decided to buy Rc[emoji16].Originally posted by s1d View Posti sincerely advice you folks to read the owners manual first. most of your questions will be answered if you take the time to read the manual.

I am also aware of the difference between shift light and rev limiter. I have tried hitting limiter just twice and that too after completing 600 kms. I will try again only after first service.

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
so you tell me that you have 'tried' to hit the limiter.. am not sure what you mean by 'tried'. you either hit it or not, there is no two ways about it. it is possible to hit the rev limiter from day 1, but is not advised to do so since the engine has to be run in.Originally posted by Mail2vasant View PostI already read the manual several times. So practically yes it can hit the limiter, but is not advised to do so repeatedly (maybe a couple of times is ok) during run in. Stick to the manual description of run-in when in doubt.
This is for information purpose only.. the svc cannot control the rev limit, they will only set up the shift light based on ktm recommendation to alert the rider. Only an ecu remap will achieve changing the rev limit.

I 'tried' and achieved hitting the rev limiter twice at it was there at 9500. Couldn't go beyond it was abrupt.Originally posted by s1d View Postso you tell me that you have 'tried' to hit the limiter.. am not sure what you mean by 'tried'. you either hit it or not, there is no two ways about it. it is possible to hit the rev limiter from day 1, but is not advised to do so since the engine has to be run in.

weird.. maybe you dint notice the bars go higher since they fade out a bit.Originally posted by Mail2vasant View PostI 'tried' and achieved hitting the rev limiter twice at it was there at 9500. Couldn't go beyond it was abrupt.
i've personally crossed 9500rpm on bikes under run in and seen others do it too.. not to mention the n no. of times the mechs themselves rev the heck out on idling bikes.
you could always warm up the engine and then in neutral rev it up and check.

KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Brother, when I got my bike it was told me that u shouldn't wait for the first service. Go hits the Rev limit (10.5k) as much as times u want. And when I told them that company says no, they told me don't you worry if we r telling we would be right. LOL [emoji23]
But I still tried to control and tried several times to not go above 7.5k..

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Hey guys. A member and fellow rider just lost his life 2 days back. A very promising track racer, motovlogger and a nice person what I could make out from his videos.
dannyR15 aka Gypsy Danger is no more.
Ride and rest in peace brother. Our condolences to your family man. You were too young to go like that in road accident man.
Ride safe my brothers, anticipate every obstacle, lane changing vehicles, abrupt cross roads, and everything that just seems dangerous on our bad roads. Remember, use our bike's acceleration to get out of tight spots. As bikers it is always our fault if we meet with an accident, we must realise biking is potentially dangerous and therefore must anticipate the worst of possibilities on roads.
