Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
As per me its due to the clutch cable rubbing the MID console.Originally posted by AngadV View Post|| My Doc says bhp is directly proportional to testosterone. I want more I want more .............. ||

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Too much fuss over the slipper clutch. It's only useful on track but is not going to turn you into Valentino Rossi. Seriously guys don't say your wrists are so weak that a slipper clutch is essential.
Engine braking is good! Throttle blipping is great fun! Enjoy it! Learn to do gearshifts matching engine rpm to the gearbox.
By the way a slipper clutch will last less than a normal clutch as it is you guessed it - 'it is slipping' and therefore the clutch plates will wear out faster.Leh Ladakh Aug 2015

You made excellent points. Yes, throttle blipping is fun. Yes, a slipper clutch is much much more useful on track. Yes, slipper clutch doesn't last as long as the current stock clutch.
I bought an almost ideal track tool to use it for daily commute and less frequent highway rides and zero track days(let's say 90% City and 10% Highway). So I'm definitely not blaming the bike or complaining. I just want something that makes the clutch a tad bit softer and make it easier for me to commute. Not like I can't live with the current clutch but I want it to be easy on my fingers. A slipper clutch is definitely much lighter.
Very few actually take their RC to the track, most are everyday commuters like me.
Again, just my opinion and not everybody feels the same.
Cheers!

Thanks for the "Kitna Deti hai" sort of pointer there, this will make all these guys to settle for the non Slipper Clutch variant happily!!Originally posted by Adilkadri123 View Post

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
For folks confused with the slipper clutch
The problem with the slipper clutch topic is, not the slipper clutch itself. What KTM did was do two things at the same time, introduce a slipper clutch and reduce the spring pressure, so automatically the notion is, people think slipper clutch makes the clutch soft, but in fact it doesn't, in fact it's the spring setup that KTM has used to reduce the clutch feel. Now, it doesn't mean, just the springs alone contribute to the clutch feel, but the overall upgrade as a package is what helps the bike.
For example, the CBR 250R doesn't have a slipper clutch, it's clutch can be pulled in with your pinky, provided if you apply enough pressure, just so folks get the point.
The CBR has five clutch springs, as opposed to 3 in the slipper clutched duke (earlier ones had 5) but keep in mind, the CBR doesn't make neither the torque nor the power that Sir Duke does, so the clutch components do take a significant beating and the clutch components are designed keeping those factors into account.
Upgrades are inevitable, that's a boon for the prospective and a bane for the retrospective. But hey, isn't it great, when we at least are given a chance to retrofit them.
Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
THE END

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
No doubt slipper clutch equipped bikes have super light clutches. But the actual reason of putting it here in India where 99% people have no clue about track is just to give them a soft clutch for easy commuting. Its easy on hand but maybe not on pocket due to the purpose it has. For weekend junkies it doesn't matter, so go get your bike guys.|| My Doc says bhp is directly proportional to testosterone. Congrats bro! Waiting for the pics. So SC is now confirmed, but I was hoping it would get the updated mirrors. A friend did say the mirrors looked different but I guess it must be the camera angle.

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
250 kms done on ODO ,and man ! She's awesome ! Bike wants to be revved hard ! Upgrading from an RTR 180 ,this seems like the best bet ! Did not push the bike over 90kmph ,at one instance downshifted 3 gears and there was a click sound from near the engine and bike stood on track ,no rear slips, but when I Rev matched this click sound was not heard. Is this how slipper clutch works ?The North Eastern Sojourn- wanderlust diary-7000 Kilometers|| Sikkim || Bhutan
