Ok, I had my RC390 standing idle since the past 5 months and have finally taken her out now as I was out of the country. She is due for a rear tire change. Bike has clocked around 7000 kms. I am sooooo very confused as to which tire to buy. The SVC guys tell me that Michellin is excellent and the Metz are just not worth it. I personally just love the Metz, but I have not ridden a bike with the Michellin. It would be great if any of you'll could share some advice here. I am not a fan of leaning or cornering. I just want the tire to perform like the Metz under extreme acceleration and extreme braking on Highways.

BTW, have any of you'll used a tire called Timsun. 150/60-R17. It is a tire from Taiwan. The tread pattern is excellent and the price is Rs:5200. I just cannot find any reviews on this tire. I have seen a spare parts shop in Chennai selling this tire.

    Thanks.
It's much better to go with mrf 150/60 r17. I would stay away from any Chinese/Taiwan branded brake or tyre

I got the RC booked in December, and agreed to wait even till March, but wanted the 2016 slipper clutch and updated model. Surprisingly, Yesterday the 2016 slipper clutch model arrived at the dealer. The clutch was noticeably lighter, if all goes well I'll get delivery today. I'll click pics of the bike, anyone wanting pics of a particular area let me know.

No adjustable levers, side exhaust or ride by wire though. Maybe the disk rotor was bigger, I'll have to check.

But I am a little stumped, 2016 model already manufactured, shipped and reached dealer, all by Jan 18? Hmmm. Must be end of Dec type manufacturing.

Anyways off right now to PDI the bike, I'll keep us updated!

Congratulations , even I have my RC390 booked . The dealer told me the lot that is arriving at Chennai would be a slipper clutch model and not the 2015 model anymore . Keeping my fingers crossed and hoping I get the bike soon.

I was quoted 2.42 lakhs and the dealer told that he would let me know if there is a price increase ,no official news on that still.

Someone had posted a picture of the 2016 model with new exhaust. It's also supposed to have new brembo brakes, ride by wire, new mirrors etc. Post some pics if you can. Also make sure that it's not a 2015 model if slipper clutch is the only difference. May be the lighter clutch was just a feeling?

Congrats. Would be great if we can see the photos of switchgear, front disc rotor, and the levers and a few snaps of the bike overall. Also the VIN nūmber would be great.

Even I have posted somewhere in this or D390 ownership thread. When I went to a KTM showroom in Bangalore few days back they told me that the new stock has arrived which has a Slipper Clutch, it took me by surprise, as to how can a 2016 model of RC arrive so soon i.e mid of Jan. But since i am keen on D390 he told me to wait for the 2016 model as it would take some time. Just to cross verify i asked him to check the Vehicle Identification Number but he said, they were all 2016 models and the VIN can at times not match with the date on the invoice.

I thought he was bluffing with the Slipper Clutch thing even though the clutch felt lighter. To cross verify i again went to another showroom which comes under the same big umbrella (Khivraj Bajaj), to my surprise they said that even they got a new lot the day before, but there is no slipper clutch in the RC. When I checked the clutch it felt lighter too.

Now reading all these posts wherein people are getting calls for the delivery of 2016 RC. I am a little confused !!

Newer rcs have a lighter clutch but it is not a slipper clutch. Slipper clutch rc will come with upgrades that are noticeable to the eye... And that too is in the testing phase. So don't expect 2016 version to come before march

Same price. No changes here. PDI only possible tomorrow as their head mechanic is away. Anyway, can anyone suggest some good insurance company. I previously had Oriental but didn't like it that much. How about bajaj allianz? I'll be sure to take zero dep.

The VIN is MD2JYJ4K5GC240954. So it's Jan 2016 manufactured I guess. But I do remember reading probably in this thread itself that vehicles manufactured in December automatically reflect Jan of next year as month and year of manufacture.

Photos I'll try later but it's a big headache now to convince the Dealer that it's actually not a Slipper clutch model. He confirmed with Bajaj and they did say it has slipper clutch, but I did not notice any other changes and was always in a doubt. The clutch was definitely lighter, even compared to the Duke 200.

Wait for the actual 2016 version which might come with the upgrades and not the one which just has a slipper/lighter clutch. When you have waited that long there is no point ending up with the non upgraded one. You never know you might get bigger discs and other tech upgrades along with the slipper clutch. But then again be prepared that it wouldn't be showing up before March 2016 or could take more time as well. Your call at the end of the day!

Edit : Also you can ask them to confirm whether it has a Slipper Clutch or not!

I think I'll wait. And yes I'll ask the dealer to confirm once again with Bajaj after explaining to him why it may not have slipper clutch.

But considering all the news that KTM's current lineup will be completely upgraded in 2017, is it possible that they only plan to add slipper clutch right now in the Indian RC 390, other updates only for foreign markets (as they'll get the 2017 ones only towards the end of 2017 I guess)? Anyhow waiting till march seems a good idea.

Can you please provide the source of your info, are you sure or is it a calculated guess like how the duke 390 sc became available towards mid february. The dealer just confirmed with the Area Manager who said yes, it has slipper clutch, but in places where there is excess stock (Delhi), it'll be available by february mid.

Moreover my booking with the dealer and subsequently with Bajaj mentioned that send the bike only if it is the updated 2016 slipper clutch model. I guess all this means that out of all updates in the EICMA display RC 390, maybe we in India only get slipper clutch. Sigh, confusion all around.

Yeah I saw that, didn't know it was posted by you brother. The confusion has increased now. Just got a call from a KTM service engineer who sits in Delhi. He confirmed the bike has slipper clutch, said they can even open it and show me. Do you think it's possible they add just the slipper clutch right now and release the proper 2016 model after testing in or around March? To keep the sales momentum going until the 2016 one is released.

I'm 99% sure that the bike has slipper clutch. The bike is ready for delivery tomorrow. I haven't paid yet. Guys please help in making a decision, I recently started working and could barely save the money, it would be heart breaking to see my hard earned money go for a bike which has received updates in a couple of months.

The dealer in my small city only gets RC on order and the one piece is for me. Should I ask him to wait or should I go ahead. I would love the ride by wire, the new ABS and ECU. Levers etc can be fitted later also.

                                What should I do ?
