Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Hey bro, Congrats on the beauty. I personally put 25 front and 28 rear on solo riding. And it has served me well till now. U can try and then make adjustments from your end to an extent.Originally posted by Mail2vasant View Post"Verso l'infinito e oltre"

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Today i rode about 100kms to my office and back. Few observations
1.) fan remained on throughout, during traffic within city roads but not even once when i hit the expressway. I was cruising at around 100
2.) There are couple of turns that i love to lean on. Rc is absolutely amazing around turn. Boy oh boy what amazing control while leaning over!! Midway during the curve i wanted to lean more and more and go faster but i controlled my nerves. The handling, control and grip is simply awesome.
3.) there was no problem adjusting to the sporty position(coming from Cbr250). Although there was a slight discomfort in bumper to bumper traffic
4.) the slipper clutch is a boon during traffic. It felt so light. I have have ridden my friend's 2015 model rc and the difference is huge.

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Hey Prithvi, even I'm from India. I live in Gwalior (MP). Is your exhaust working good and is it original? I want to buy one but it is not in stock in Lajpat Nagar. I really want it. Do you have any idea from where else I can get it?Originally posted by prithvi.singh View PostHi, so this is for all you guys who wish to change to an aftermarket exhaust on the RC390.
I\\\\\\\'d been looking for a good aftermarket exhaust for my bike ever since I took delivery as I\\\\\\\'ve always believed in the \\\\\"loud pipes save lives\\\\\", especially on Delhi roads and our highways. I\\\\\\\'d spoken to a few people in Karol Bagh and was not satisfied by what they were offering.
So last Sunday, i went to KTM Lajpat Nagar and after talking and being convinced by them, I installed the IXIL L3X Dual Hyperlow (Carbon Black). The exhaust which fits the Duke 390 is an exact fit for the RC390. However, the belly faring which houses the stock exhaust tip touches the bend pipe of the IXIL exhaust tip and melts away (hardly a few millimetres). The part which melts away will not be a hinderance in case you wish to switch back to the stock exhaust.
The fitting of the exhaust took approximately an hour, and there were two of us, me and my friend so both the exhausts were fitted in around two hours.
I\\\\\\\'ve been using the exhaust with both the baffles removed and the bike really growls. And as more carbon is accumulating inside the exhaust the sound is getting throatier. There does seem to be more mid-range punch in the bike because of the exhaust but it could well be my imagination due to the growl of the bike.
The cost of the exhaust including the fitting was Rs. 27,000/-.

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
So last evening while reaching Delhi coming from Agra I took the express way. Was waiting for this one as I wanted observe how the bike behaves if I keep it at 150 km/h for all the 200 kms.
My Observations
* No issues with engine,of course. And no issues with heating either. As if u have just been crusing at 100.
* Rock Solid Stability. But we all know that too.
*Vibes did bother me a little, keeping it at 150 for so long."Verso l'infinito e oltre"

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
*contd
* F.E did take a hit. Console was showing 18-20km/l on the express way.
*fan was not always on. But kept going on and off. Just doing its job.
All over the statistics stand at:
Allahabad to New Delhi
690kms
Time Taken: 7hrs 20 mins
Avg Speed: 94km/hr
Over All FE: 25km/l"Verso l'infinito e oltre"

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Riding on the track without the underbelly, to avoid any scrapes.
I have had a horrible accident 2 months and the chassis was bent along the front end of the bike completely smashed.
Recently got it fixed and trying it out on the track, it does not feel the same.
It took 2 months to get the bike fixed completely, it took almost 2 months to get the parts which is a pain in the back.
did anyone had issues with late arrival of parts do let me know.
Ride Safe.

It all comes down to the parts replaced and the quality of labor to get the bike back to feeling normal after such an accident.Originally posted by mohdatif1 View Post

What were the parts that were replaced ? I assume at the minimum the chassis, forks, triple tree, cone set..? And then getting the rake and trail correct
Not to mention the rims.
And yes, getting parts (especially those which are not regular consumables) takes time at-least here in hyderabad. btw, which mechanic/svc did the repair job ?

The headlight console unit was smashed to bits, this is the part which took the longest to arrive,Originally posted by s1d View PostIt all comes down to the parts replaced and the quality of labor to get the bike back to feeling normal after such an accident.

The mechanic is quite skilled and i have no issues with his work, forks, triple tree, mirrors, visor, projector housing, cone set were changed,
Luckily the wheel rim was no bent and with a normal wheel throwing it was back to normal.
I service my bike at Hitec Ktm SVC in madhapur.

What stock bulbs are there in rc's? I am not asking about the rating but the brand.Last edited by Mail2vasant; 02-17-2016, 10:54 PM.
