Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
I see, well this motovlogger called buffmoto uses ixil hyperlow, he didn't have complaints apart from the clearance, and also lot of people told me if u do all that to the bike, it would heat up n destroy the engine n parts , only happens if u opening up ur bike all the timeOriginally posted by lakshbhatia25 View Post

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Racedynamics or Joel's race concepts did tests on a dyno trying out most exhausts available for the KTM 390. The results were unexpected. The stock exhaust gives the max power, and only the akrapovic full exhaust system matches the stocker in power. Other exhausts actually reduced the power despite remaps, etc.
Gypsy Danger aka dannyr15 got a lot of headwork done by Joel on his rc 390, and also had a piggyback ECU. But his exhaust was kept stock. So if one is OK with the slight power loss and wants more sound, the exhaust can be changed.

I had asked Balgi as one of his friends was using the ixil exhaust and he only told me that the review isn't good from the owner.Originally posted by Deathwing View PostI see, well this motovlogger called buffmoto uses ixil hyperlow, he didn't have complaints apart from the clearance, and also lot of people told me if u do all that to the bike, it would heat up n destroy the engine n parts , only happens if u opening up ur bike all the time

I see its more to do with air fuel ratios n it has to match the slip on or full system.Originally posted by lakshbhatia25 View PostI had asked Balgi as one of his friends was using the ixil exhaust and he only told me that the review isn't good from the owner.

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
When i was planning for the upgrade gypsy danger helped me a lot how to source the ecu getting the right map for the air filter. etc He recommended me not to use the full system exhaust but i was very tempted so he asked me to wait for the ffe joel is working on for the 390.
After getting the setup i once slapped on my friends ixil exhaust for a week and the results were disappointing i only got the sound but the top end was dropped reduced top speed and accelaration struggling to cross 175kmph.

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Once again ur bike needs to be tuned according your exhaust, slip on or full systems, then only the bike's air fuel ratios would match and with a aftermarket airfilter. There is ixil under seat slip on, that also can be tuned as per the bike,Originally posted by Suyash Krishna View PostWhen i was planning for the upgrade gypsy danger helped me a lot how to source the ecu getting the right map for the air filter. etc He recommended me not to use the full system exhaust but i was very tempted so he asked me to wait for the ffe joel is working on for the 390.

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Frist of all there is no real benefits of k&n without the proper tuning of ecu. The extra amount of extra air only results in leaner air fuel mixture. But once the ecu is properly tuned u get extra fuel and air in the combustion chamber resulting in more fierce combustion per stroke resulting in increased power output of your bike.Originally posted by SpeedyKol View PostWhy should one fit the K&N air filter? Would like to know the pros and cons
Totally my opinion
Pros
1.Increase in power(tuned ecu)
2. Intake roar
3. Longer lasting than stock air filter
4. Washable
5. More air allowed.
Cons
1. Less efficient in filtering dust .
2. Expensive

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
I hope 175 kmph was achieved ONLY on the track. Else, you may meet the same fate as late Gypsy Danger.Originally posted by Suyash Krishna View PostWhen i was planning for the upgrade gypsy danger helped me a lot how to source the ecu getting the right map for the air filter. etc He recommended me not to use the full system exhaust but i was very tempted so he asked me to wait for the ffe joel is working on for the 390.

My friend who has the IXIL bought it as a full system not a slip on and it didn't need a new ECU or air filter mod is what he told me. I was told it was a direct install and he expressed his dissatisfaction of the sound and feel of the bike vibration wise post install. i didn't tell him that IXIL exhaust is crap or anything I just told him what I knew and helped him with the links. The exhaust was the bespoke IXIL exhaust made for the duke and RC bikes so it was designed keeping default fuelling and air intake in mind or atleast that is what I was told.

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
He passed away last week. Met with an accident near Anna Salai on the flyover when he hit a pedestrian and fell on the nearby divider. I've been informed that despite the gear, he suffered punctured internal organs.Originally posted by jackofsome View PostYou mean the vlogger gypsy danger? What happened to him? When and how?
