Ask your girlfrnd to buy helmet & tell her to carry whenever she is with you... :P

There is a bungee cargo net available online or you can check your nearest bike accessory shop. Don't know whether it can be fitted in RC but still you can try.

      google with "bike net".

        hi.

i have one problem with my rc 390,and need help.

Even if a fuel tank is full the fuel gauge displays that it is empty.

                    Hello jackofsome,
Thank you for posting the link to your exhaust sound. The bike looks nice with the exhaust. I found the sound very loud. Again since the bike is a single cylinder, we cant expect much. A fly-by at 140-150kmph would definitely sound great, I am sure. At slow speeds and idling I feel it would be quite loud and irritating. These are just my thoughts. No offence here.

I am looking for something like this in the pic below. I know it is going to be very expensive. I am also planning to make my own exhaust. I am trying to get my hands on a used Duke 390 or RC 390 exhaust which I can modify by retaining the cat-con and just making the output hole larger and fitting an exhaust from there. The end result would be great I assume. Will probably do this next month.

                    • Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience

Hi everyone, my name is Daniel.

I'm a fairly new member of xbhp. I've been riding for just over a couple of years, and I am just turning 19.

This shall be a ride report of my RC390, and what I got her for, and how she delivers!

For the last two years, I had been riding without my parents knowledge, and been spending copious amounts of money, on bikes, tyres, fuel, gear, etc. cand this year the worms were out of the can :O. Well it turned out to be the best thing that happened to me, as my grand mum and parents bought me the RC390 on March 16th or there abouts, forgive me :P, I dont really keep track of the dates.

Well buying experience was just about as exciting as buying a new cellphone, as KTM love to rush things, and I for one was in a rush to get back on the track with my own bike, as I had been borrowing and riding bikes on track. (Yes i have the best friends ever).

                      Break-In:

A very touchy subject to everyone, but heres how I did mine -

                      1. First 50 kms, nice and easy, slowly let her climb the rev range, pushing till 7500 very very gradually.
                      2. next 50 kms, push her higher up, around the 9000 mark
                      3. next 200kms ride normally as I would in city, and ride to the beach house in Kovalam.
                      4. change oil at 300.
                      5. Ride to Yellagiri hills at almost WOT the whole time, taking 20 minutes break.
                      6. Change oil. Done. (Goes without saying that the oil filter is replaced both times.)

                      Handling and Comfort:

I bought this bike as a track bike, and well on the handling department I can safely say shes the best I've come across. Approach the corner, bang it in an keep it going. The tyres are perfect, but I have reached the level where I am upgrading to better tyres, Pirelli SC2V2 up front, and M7RR rear. Rear suspension is at the 9th highest position, and the front needs a set of preload adjustable cartridges. All to come.

                      Power:
I was used to riding a hyosung 650 on track, so this was a fair downgrade, but it was so much easier to modulate and go WOT that im doing the same time on the RC that I was doing on the Hyosung (First time on track in my entire life, I did 2.03.58 on the Hyosung 650 with Michelin Road 2, and no matter who says what, it is the worst tyre, ever for anything more than sedate road riding.) I have already changed to a piggy back ECU, to help with the awkward gear ratios by pushing the revlimit higher, and I feel it has made a huge improvement, as I did 2.05.24 on the stock ecu and am now doing 2.03.42 with this Piggy back. Will be getting the Race Concepts custom map on wednesday. Have a K&N filter, yet to install it.

                      Comfort:

Lowest on my list of priorities, as I was looking for a track bike, and not a tourer or a city cruiser, that being said, she does it all. Most Importantly girlfriend loves the seat .

Specs from my vision and feel and usage

Top speed 189 on meter thanks to the ecu.
ABS is perfect for road and track, I never turn it off.
F.E on road 34-38 ( i ride slow on the road) 14 on track, and 28 on highway.

                      Suggested upgrades :

                      Belly Pan Delete
                      ECU
                      StompGrips
                      Rear Sets
                      R15 foot pegs.

OverAll she is the best bike for India on the market, she makes me feel like Rossi, and makes me feel like I can be the best I can be as a rider on her, and she looks fan-freakin-tastic.

Photo Time: ( All taken the first time I ever took her on track )

My nicest solo shot till date.

My favorite photo till date. Me in front, and my mentor following to see where I'm making mistakes, I am where I am today, all thanks to him

Brand new at the Beach house #1

                      #2

                      Dat lean angle tho!

                      Hello Mr.Photographer.

Bad body position but I like the shot nonetheless, as it is head on.

And all of her side view

                      And finally the problems,

Bajaj SVC and customer care helpline are shit, almost as bad as GOVT offices.

My injector got clogged as I filled speed 97 from a bunk which had fine dust in the fuel, so bike was in the SVC for 3 weeks finally fed up, had a friend buy the part in Pune and send it down to me. But other than that, nothing at all .

Yes you are lucky to be close to a racetrack but there are many more who are as lucky as u but never see the track.
The RC was born to be there.
And yes super cool set of pictures!

And you are getting a damn good FE in city. I get 20-22 in city [emoji30] that too when I keep her below 7k RPM all the time!
There is no better therapy than riding a bike down a straight road at full throttle with the sound of the engine for company.

I try my best to not even ride her, and I live in a sparsely populated part of the city . And also, its not how low the Rpms are kept its how wide you keep the throttle open and how you accelerate, but then again, I just like my bike just the way she is, I could'nt have asked for any better
