+ 1 there, i got confirmation from Ghaziabad dealer aswell that RC wont be seeing slipper clutch anytime soon.
I am still confused between the RC and the Duke, heart says RC and mind goes for the Duke. I have never found myself
    in such dilemma before .

P.S: Test ride at CP showroom didnt help much as the RC they had for test was in pathetic condition.
Gear shifts were smooth though engine was very harsh, bike itself has suffered quite a few falls with
plastic hanging here and there. it seemed the bike had never been serviced or it might be running on low engine oil level.

Duke test bike was better, but it was non slipper clutch version. will check in Gurgaon today.

A decade? Man the last one that came out was in the 80s. Its well over two decades of two strokes being decommissioned in India.
Just because you haven't seen it doesnt mean its impossible...expect the unexpected.

Sorry a little correction. i bought a brand new tvs suzuki samurai in 1997 when shoguns and rx 135 were selling like hot cakes. then came sholin around 1999 i believe than rx 135 5 speed and rxz even the rd 350 lasted till 1990. all in all two stroke survived early 2000 - 2001 when finally the hammer went down to ban 2 strokes bikes. That was a sad day for riders all around.
so it was around 2001 thus aptly 1 and a half decade.

Cool, thanks dude. Didn't have such a precise idea.
This just shows even one and half decade feels like more than two. Seems like ages :P

hahaha i couldnt have put it more precisely. I has been ages indeed.

But i hope RC (or duke) will fill that void.

            Cheers

Service manual says 1000 km/45 days for first service and oil change, but I was thinking of getting an oil change done before that. When would be a good time? ~200 km, or ~500 km, or more?

The rider seat is really hard. I barely noticed it during the test ride (because I was trying to stay alive ), but during run-in, especially in lower speeds, it hurts a lot. Do riders get used to it? I've done short to medium distance weekend rides on a CBR 150R regularly, and am used to non-commuter, sporty riding posture already.

Has anyone tried softer, more comfortable aftermarket seats? If so, from where, and how much does it cost?

100kms, 400, and then 1000, for best results and break in like how youd ride normally. just make sure you can uderstand when the engine is being strained, and the also another main thing is use the throttle very very smoothly and and linearly, no instantaneous WOT and take it to high revs smoothly

I do 500 kms a day on weekends. Done a max of 600 kms a day. It was tough.
You have to be fit for sure.
By then the best bet is cycling gel shorts underneath which you can buy from decathlon or other sport goods stores.
                    Hope this helps.

Ps: Does anyone has any info on the slipper clutch equipped RC having landed in the showrooms in their respective cities.
I was at CP Showroom(Delhi), they have slipper clutch (SC) Dukes ready to go, but no info on RC (sc). RC (-SC) is readily available though, no waiting period required. And they have no info on the slipper clutch equipped RC. One might think they are trying to clear off the old stock.
Besides I just dont want to end up buying the bike now and a week later/month later start the whole process of getting slipper clutch retro fitted from the SVC. As I am getting a very strong feeling that this is how things are gonna end up.
Any news would be of great help.

Even I had the same feeling. Then I did a little research on Slipper Clutch and clearly its not of great advantage outside the TRACK. If Going to a Track then not just the Clutch but many other parts too need retrofit to make it more of a Track bike.

Moreover if your battery is dead with slipper clutch on the bike you cannot even push and start the bike (Tried on NINJA 300 with Slipper Clutch).

I am booking my RC390 on June 24th With or Without slipper clutch.

Please try that again. I have started the 300 more than 20 times (pushing) when the battery was dead. And slipper clutch helps not to lock your rear wheel when there's a panic braking, hence aggressive downshifts (engine braking) on a bike equipped with slipper clutch can give you more confidence while braking. And the clutch is better than the stock clutch on the RC, since they are so light, you can be a braking expert with that abs off and SC attached, plus riding in traffic is a cake walk.

I have ordered with the Service Centre but they are real pathetic. It has been more than a month and still there is no sign of it. Its basically the duke 390 tripple tree. It will be a trial and error method. If or not successful I will post it here.

There has been no official news of slipper clutch on RC390 from KTM. I asked dealers about it and they speculated that it might be coming by end of the year. I couldn't wait till then, and got the bike. When the slipper clutch comes on an RC, I hope it can be retrofitted on mine. No regrets even otherwise. It is just a small luxury. I'm happy that the heating and other QC issues seem to be mostly fixed in the recent batches (I felt less heat on my legs on day 1 than when I rode a year old D200, so ha! ).

I'll be doing 4-500 km rides in a day as soon as the break in is over. Here's hoping I can survive that ordeal Will update here about the comfort (or the lack of it) afterwards.

I babied the bike so far (150 kms). With city traffic, RC's tall gearing and power delivery, I never used even half throttle or reached 7.5k RPM in 6th gear Wondering if I should get an oil change now and ride a bit harder, or ride a couple of hundred kms more and then get an oil change. Decisions, decisions. Sigh.

See bro, I don't want to get into this because it sparks peoples personal opinions and it can get tense, but change oils at said intervals for best results the way you break it in is the way you ride normally coz then the theory I have is it will set in the best way to suit you
