Bro Fly by wire or Ride by wireOriginally posted by Adilkadri123 View PostSlipper clutch is a step back ;-)
New exhaust (eu spec) spoils the clean lines of the bike
Lack of switchgear for lights good safety feature
Fly by wire throttle maybe a forward (don't think I would want it tho as it just means one more expensive part to replace if it breaks)
Adjustable levers definitely thumbs up

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
you will need extra wiring but it can do without a relay due to their lower power rating compared to say a dual roots vibrasonic or hella supertone. the duke has a single horn while the p220's is a dual horn. I would still insist on a relay thrown in. I quoted the p220 since the svc said they will do it themselves because they are also a bajaj dealer so they provide the horns. If it was different horns, they asked me to get it done outside without cutting any existing wiring.Originally posted by nilesh9777 View PostThats good, i am also thinking to change the horn.
Can you clear on thing, direct fit means no extra wiring or relays correct?
wiring is simple and doesn't require any cutting. you just need to use some spade type connectors to tap in to the existing wiring and for relay connections.
I have bought myself a pair of hella's and will be installing them soon.

that's how a lot of bumps and scrapes are taken care of.Originally posted by Adilkadri123 View PostAlso if the other party is cooperative then you can always reach a compromise without the cops getting involved.
but one should understand how the insurance works.. a lot of people do not know that the opposite person's insurance will pay for their damages. but it requires one to wade thru the red tape.

Rex is going places
did a 1.8k kms round trip down south . The RC 390 took some underbelly scraping in rough off roads and gave me loads of shoulder and wrist pain on downhill off roads. She's a hoot to ride on highways and i barely felt any pain on the body. She hates traffic :P The 2016 model seems to have been updated with better alloys too. She took many hard hits and still stayed strong. Overall an happy owner, many more miles to go

Sorry to break the bad news to you. Punctures not covered under warranty.Originally posted by Sird View Post
So I noticed this just now.
It's on the front tyre (Metzeler)
Is there any chance to somehow cover his under warranty ?
The bike has done 4200km and 6 months old.

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Yes I understand. But this is not puncture or any damage done by a nail or something. It's the rubber quality, tearing off itself.Originally posted by SpeedyKol View PostSorry to break the bad news to you. Punctures not covered under warranty.First I was Scared But then We Made a Deal

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Unlikely. Has to be a foreign particle on the road doing damage. The rubber quality is way superior to what you get With any motorcycles which cost less than 7 lacs in india.Originally posted by Sird View PostYes I understand. Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
This isn't a problem of the tire, the build quality or the material per se. Over inflated/under inflated tire running over stone can literally tear a tire -- any tire for that matter, especially when your luck runs out. You can always try your luck with the KTM guys, but it's really hard to give warranty on wear and tear items such as tires, chain et cetera.Originally posted by SpeedyKol View PostSorry to break the bad news to you. The girl said, 'NO!'

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Yes over inflated tyre can result into cracks, not immediately but over the period.
Regarding metzs.. they are really premium and best.
They are rated for speed of 250kms/hr which is way ahead what rc can achieve. that's enough to say their build quality.Last edited by bikersdream; 03-11-2016, 10:17 AM.

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Yes. I have a problem with that. You, my friend, are nothing more but a keyboard rider, who does not yet know the more meaningful things in life, and yet stick on to rather childish plays, insulting the dead, and others who stand for them. Like i iterated before, you still do not know the facts behind the crash, so try and come out of your childish shell and open your eyes to the world, and open your mind to comprehend the facts behind every single incident.Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostNo, I didn't! I do not question his ability on the race track. I met him a couple of times.
BUT, I personally insisted him to ride better in city. This is from his 100 mph Pulsar days.
Also, if one looks at his vlogs on Youtube, one does see that even city roads weren't spared.
My point was, highway isn't one's garden! It has to be shared by all and doing moronic speeds will lead to death. Period!
Got a problem with that?
And, you could've PM'ed me like i'd asked, rather than shoot your mouth off on the forum, which again questions the fact that you are a mod
? Seriously, grow up.

Here is what happen to my tyre:
It exploded like as if someone had put a firecracker under the tyre and lifted the rear end by 6 inches before setting down. Luckily I was at about 40 to 50 kmph when it happen. Anything higher it would have been a disaster in the making.Only a biker knows why a dog sticks his head out of a car window.

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Yes, Abhi, that's should be a good scare especially when riding. But certainly, looking closely at tire, it's clearly a pressure point induced tear/rip. Sad these tires are taking a beating in India. But no wonder, anything made in India specifically needs to be made for India, or is it.Originally posted by abhimanyu31 View PostAsk me!!! I should know!!!

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Just for the record, I'm also worried as to why did a fellow rider die even though he was armored. I live in chennai too, and possibly use that very road often. I do not wish to insult dead people, but learn from their mistakes.
For example, a friend of mine ended up on hospital because he hit a dog. I was very curious as to exactly what happened, and found out that he he lost control trying to avoid the dog. Using that info, next time I encountered a dog in my path, seeing no way out, I blared my horn at it, and gunned the throttle. And looked at the road. I don't know what happened next, except that it felt like a large speed bump.
Learning from other's mistakes saved my life. And I'm sure an experienced rider would want us to learn from his.
Thanks.
