1 year about to complete . Need to renew insurance.
Bajaj alliance quoted IDV 1,81,000 and premium rs 4,100 including 20% discount for NCB.
As it was zero depreciation policy, don't you guys think that idv should be same as 1st year?
Can I change insurance company and get zero depreciation quote from other company on 2nd year?

If you change the insurance company then the NCB will be lost.

They reduce the IDV every year, regardless of zero depreciation or not. That's because the value of the vehicle reduces each year as it gets older. Zero depreciation, according to my understanding, means that they will reimburse you the full cost of plastic and other parts in case of accident. Usually, plastic parts have 50% depreciation.

Nope. Zero depreciation means zero depreciation. You don't have to pay anything from your side. The IDV is of no significance in zero dep insurance.

Will probably continue with bajaj alliance though 4100rs for zero depreciation policy on second year looks expensive .

My first year Insurance was from ICICI Lombard, Zero Dep Silver, cost me Rs. 6555. IDV was Rs. 2,05,425.

I got a Zero Dep Insurance from IFFCO TOKIO with an IDV of Rs. 1,95,514 for Rs. 4130. A depreciation of under Rs. 10,000 making it just 5%. A very good deal.

The reason I went with IFFCO TOKIO is my service center has a tie up with them for Cashless Claims. Not many companies provide cashless claims when it comes to 2-Wheelers.

P.S- I have heard a lot of people complain about claims when it comes to Bajaj Allianz.

Actually to reduce the premium, you can opt to pay claim charges, starting from Rs. 500 per claim. So if you have a policy that requires claim charges, you will have to pay them.
