Yeah the Porur rep said that a lot will be coming on 22 or 23rd. But what was weird is that he said that this was the first batch of 2016 models being rolled out LOL!
I didn't take a test drive because I'd already driven a friend's RC 390 but I took a test drive of RC 200 with my mother sitting on the pillion seat. She told me she will never sit on the bike with me and I was only going at 20-30 kmph.

I'm going to get a bullet soon for my brother who will turn 18 this september and then I will have a choice of RC and a cruiser for long distance drives.

Adyar KTM showroom manager Srinivasan is really friendly and honest. He tried to convince me to get RC 200 instead because of problems in traffic but I'll be on OMR Road mostly so I told him I'd prefer 390 and he also told me the paddock stand at KTM is for 7700 and I'll get cheaper one at GB Road, Mount Road. for around 2000-2500.

Wow good for you. I did the test drive of rc200 earlier but need to know if I can handle twice the power.

Ha ha yeah bro not sure what's with these showroom guys, one of the rep was explaining the features of 390 in a way as if its some demon in wheels waiting to kill everyone on road. I could see my dad's face turning pale with terror on hearing his words. LOL!

They are trying to push 200 on us cause they have stocked em up more and 390's are only bought in lots in less numbers mostly based on booking numbers I guess.

Sorry to say but the RC390 is a killer.. being very light and so much of power.. Just be a mature rider and don't try to show the triple digit in city.. it is for your own safety.. With the amount of power this bike has, it can turn into a demon...

Which showroom? I'm getting my RC 390 from KTM Adyar and they told me they have only one bike and they're getting the lot today or tomorrow and I'll get it by Thursday or Friday after RTO registration.

This was the only issue I was worried about before getting the RC 390 and I'm happy to see they'll replace it for 3k. Wouldn't wanna pay 17k for both tyres after few thousand kms.
I suggest you get leather gloves.. And if you can get full gauntlet ones. Textile gloves tear easily.. For 2.9k you fan get good full gauntlets like the cramster trg2.

Yeah bro, i quite agree with you what I meant is before deciding on a bike we do one hell of a research, put several thought into it and finalize and then as a last step enter the showroom for booking. Of course we are matured enough to know the bike is dangerous its our responsiblity to keep ourselves and people around us safe. That doesnt mean these rep guys(no offense) have to scare the crap out of our parents who will be worried sick everytime we go on a ride now.

Well, The maturity is, when you learn to control that right wrist.. I used to go WOT (Wide Open Throttle) when I was immature Later learnt, it is not the speed that matters, but the patience

Now, you are talking about the RC390.. The same thing was said to my dad in 2009 about the R15 what do you have to say about that My dad removed R15 from the list for this very reason. At the end parents have know the consequences.. Trust me.. my dad sold off my bike promising to get me a bike in Delhi.. and he had to witness an accident forcing him not to get me a bike.. Changed his mind later though.. but he does know the consequences..

True bro..but had it been some 5yrs before not only my dad even I would have thought twice cause I was so immature and adrenaline rushing 24/7 but now meh! i even ride my TVS Apache like a TVS 50.

Feel like have grown too old and there seems to be nothing exciting like it once was thats the main reason am getting RC to have atleast some excitement like a weekend track day or a long dist ride just to free up mind from boredom and stress of mid-life.[emoji14]

Better have a strong back before you attempt this on a RC390 and not to forget, wrist too

Just hope I get 2016 RC 390 with headlight switches. I would rather keep my headlight off during the day instead of having it on and people asking me to switch off my headlights. Will let y'all know this Thursday or Friday.

I'm not planning to get racing kit anytime soon as I might drive mostly on ECR and OMR (free roads on the outskirts with minimal traffic except during office hours). Do you think I should still get full gauntlet or short cuffs? Can you suggest any short cuff leather gloves under 3k? Sorry for going OT mods will post on accessories thread after this.

I get what you're trying to say but I'm a disciplined rider and drive slowly on city roads and I don't think I've crossed more than 80 even at night on well lit roads. That is why my parents have agreed to get the bike for me even though I'm only 20 because they know I don't drive rash unlike my brother who'll just turn 18, so we'll most likely get bullet 500cc for him and I'll have a quarter liter sports bike and a cruiser.

It means the bike makes 43bhp when engine runs at 9000 rpm and torque of 35 Nm when engine runs at 7000 rpm.

so does it mean thats the maximum rpm we can clock of 9000rpm in 390 or does it mean thats the max bhp we can churn out no matter the rpm over 9k+ ?!
