When I had inquired about purchasing a unicorn a few years ago, i told them regarding the ncb from a previous bike and they were like 'no saar there is nothing like that'. On insisting, they simply said 'saar if you can get the insurance yourself, then go ahead.. we will release the bike to you only after seeing the insurance document'
And I don't think it will be possible for the dealer to handover the bike to you unless you have the insurance in place. So make the payment and all other paper work formalities, get the bike details (chassis/engine nos, make model blah blah) and do the insurance yourself. Then show the document to the dealer and pick up the bike.

If the dealer denies, then shoot an email to bajaj and ktm and ask them to give you in writing that such an arrangement is not possible.

there was no price hike on the slipper clutch model.
the price hike at the beginning of 2015 (that's when the slipper clutch model was released) was due to tax roll back (which were reduced during 2014) which caused prices to go up by a few k's. This affected the 200's ,390's , rc's , ninjas etc..

I had done the same while purchasing my Verna and got it done from outside for a discount as much as 10k. I will do the same this time. But regarding claiming the ncb, the discount is applicable on the owner right?

Review of castrol power1 racing oil(cp1r) on RC390.
I have done about 500kms on cp1r till date, and the experience is excellent and way above what i had expected. It did feel hot, usual 8 bars, but fan was running more than often in the initial 50-100kms but its all good now.The bike redlines smoothly and with a sense of urgency unmatched by 7100. City performance is good, and where the bike used to lug previously at specific gear/rpm combo on 7100, its going absolutely fine on cp1r.
On highways too, same thing, smooth acceleration and good fe. Ripping the throttle returns about 24-25ish on console, small improvement of 1-2kmpl on same stretch over 7100. Also happened to do a mini trackday, and it was good too. The exhaust pops are almost gone, and cooling/heating properties are similar as the 7100; 8 bars normally, 7 bars on early winter morning in mumbai . Overall, a good choice over 7100, and adds to the list of my minor mods having a substantial effect on behaviour of bike, viz Usage of Adon p, keiti traction pads, and gravity chain oiler.

Ps: Ensure you lay your hands on genuine castrol product, Ive heard many fakes are being circulated in market. I got it from navi mumbais castrol dealer.

Had the first service done last monday
didnt get the time to write anything about it

Gave it for servicing at 600 miles which is around 960 kms
Overall time taken was around 50 minutes and the way they treated me was good too (got some chips and cold drinks to drink too XD)
Had it done from KTM Ring Road Lucknow and I have to say the way they do their job is top notch
The owner there Nitesh also checks the bike and he usually services and takes care of bike 600cc bikes so yea he knows a lot of bikes and is very friendly and informative too
They did the usual service with included oil and oil filter change, chain cleaning and lubing etc which amounted to ₹1762 this is the first time I have seen a company cleaning the bike and washing it before servicing it while others usually do it at the last like honda and yamaha

                  Intial impression:
                  THE BIKE FELT SMOOTH!!
like even the acceleration was smooth cause before I could feel an unstable acceleration is small milli second hiccups in between but now they were gone
i never had any vibrations in my bike (Bless the Lord) but now it was much better though the chain was tighten when caused a lil in the foot pegs which disappeared in around 10-15 kilometres
I didn't see any noticible change in mileage and it's still giving me around 18-20 in the city ( more like galis)
the radiator fan never gave me a problem and was always 1-2 marks below the line
I even felt a light change in the exhaust note and felt it more linear

and now no more holding back and revving the engine near 9000 rpm
top speed achieved till now on this bike is around 146 kms

At the beginning when I bought the bike I wasn't so impressed with its acceleration cause I was used to driving an r6 and Harley's but now when I reach its mid range I feel like yes this baby has power

that's all I have to say and yes KTM Ring Road is one of the most helpful service centre and showroom I have visited till now and people there are nice too

ps: a pic of the time of service.. How does the number plate look guys? Yea I'm just a kid ( just got 18 but have a 3 year experience of riding but playing with bikes and cars since childhood)

Guys today I test rode the RC 390, and since Rc 200 was unavailable at the moment I'll be going for that tomorrow. This will be my first bike(Although I didn't have any problem managing 390 cc unlike what I thought). I was planning on making the booking for RC 390 today itself, however the showroom manager completely changed my dad's mind about allowing me a 390 cc, although I do believe those are legitimate points, I'd just like your opinions too. My purpose is 98% city commute in Bangalore, to go to college. RC 390 its in my budget, and costs due to difference in mileage too are okay with me. However, I was told in city, RC 200 is a much better option, as its more 'peppier' and 'fun to ride' than a 390 in lower speeds and so on. He told me a 390 would be overkill for city riding, and that a 200 would be much more enjoyable.
What would you guys suggest I go for? Will the MRF tyres on the 200 be good enough for Bangalore roads, or lack of ABS be a problem if i opt for the 200? I was told in commuting i wouldn't notice any of these features. I'd like your opinions on which one I should take please.
PS I can manage the seating posture and the power, I didn't have a problem today at all, so I'd mainly like opinions regarding which one is more suitable for my situation
                    Thanks guys!

Get 390 if you're used to such power. If not get the 200. Even rc 200 is a good bike.

Listen, if u can afford a 390 then just go for it
i dont know why but many showroom guys are forcing people to buy the 200 version
but actually the 390 is a better value for money looking at the extra feature you are getting
and abs is dead on needed, trust me it will save your life and plus mrf aren't soo good now they need to warm up and don't have much traction like metzellers. Metzellers will give you the confidence like that of a racer anytime anywhere you name it and just imagine you driving a 200 and see a 390 run past by you at high speeds.. What would it feel like when you know you could have bought it but still took the 200
what if u get a 200 and someone in your neighbourhood gets a 390, people will be more attracted to it.
A 390 has a wider handle bar with bar end weights for improved handing unlike the 200
the 200 is better in slow traffic just cause it's a little lighter than the 390 but trust me you will get used to the added weight of a 390 in just a week or two

my choice is if you can afford it (which you obviously can) just go for it cause that baby will leave a smile on your face everytime you twist the throttle

The 390 is a serious machine and can get you in trouble in no time. Any novice rider with little or no experience may or may not be mature enough to know when to twist the throttle.
Rc 200 has enough power to keep you happy and is a lot more forgiving.

These are stupid reasons. Stop buying bikes to show off. Dont mean to offend you. I do think that the 390 is worth it but stop showing off on this bike you will get hurt in no time

                              Not Offended dude it's okay
well showoff doesn't mean driving at high speeds or for likely insane speeds cause that's just playing dumb stupid and if u drive at fast speeds people won't be able to see you so what's the point of showing off xP

im just saying that people get attracted to the 390 more than the 200 plus it is a better value for money

and saying that it would be too much for a noobie isn't that true for even I practiced riding and driving on a 600cc

still everyone has their own opinions and I highly respect that

drive safe, respect roads and rules and get the bike that your heart says yes
