Kinda confused about the RC handlebars. Do these come with bar end weights or the same duke grips? My bad that I forgot to notice that in the showroom.

Thanks. Any info about when the slipper clutch RCs shall be introduced and whether it is actually wise to wait for the addition of slipper clutch? As per my research, it wont help much if I am not hammering down the gears on the track.

In my opinion it's worth to wait. Slipper clutch surely does prevent wheel locking but importantly it also makes clutch very light for daily use. Also a slipper clutch upgrade will be accompanied by many other upgrades. The Duke 390 upgrade was not only abt slipper clutch but many other improvements. Btw there is no news if when it is coming..

Slipper clutch does not mean a softer clutch. The softer cluch on the duke is due to the revised clutch spring setup. Slipper clutch just prevents wheel lockup.

Dont waste time for waiting for slipper clutch.
Slipper clutch model will have increased price of at least 10k.
With 10k you Will definitely able to retrofit slipper clutch to your old rc.
                    Same is happened with duke.

So there is no point in waiting and wasting time.
Regarding rc, its pretty much stable and updates will be minor.

i thought 2015 d390 with slipper clutch came without any price hike..
i don't think they will charge more for slipper clutch.

Yes slipper clutch only helps while downshifting, thereby avoiding wheel lockups. I would like to get my insurance done from my known insurance guy and not from the ktm dealer. But they are not letting me do so. I can also claim the ncb of the previous vehicle as well. Help me out

Get that thing in writing from KTM.. on hearing this only they will deny to give you anything in written.

then send a mail to ktm india, with the dealer name and address citing your problem.

they are bound to give you the bike without insurance

By the way, congratulation on the New bike. Talking After a long time

Back to the head work, once removed, Joel poked his magic, it was put back together, and on the way back to Chennai my mind was F****** blown.

At my regular throttle tube hold I would be doing 115~120kmph, and at the same throttle position, the bike was doing near 150, without any strain whatsoever. The engine was smooth at idle, at the top of the rev band, and everywhere in between. The torque was just bonkers, pulled like a diesel. Not to mention the way she pulled to red line was just immaculate. digit after digit on the small display just kept going up.. up.. upp. I felt like was dreaming with the way she was pulling. But a dream this wasn't. After a short stint of rather illegal speeds, (Which I do not condone) I pulled over to refuel, and was getting 22-23 kmpl or thereabouts. And I just felt like my bike was complete.

I haven't taken her to track since the mods, and also the radiator broke due to a stone hitting it, but now without a pillion if im a bit aggressive with the throttle near about 6k rpm, a smooth progressive wheelie occurs, wherein I feel, I just feel like this is how she should have been from factory, a feeling I can't put down, but a twist of the throttle just warps the surroundings, and I feel like I have tunnel vision wherein if i don't concentrate on what's ahead of me, i'd be a dead man.

But with this power, it makes riding with a pillion really annoying with the front pogoing, and really yearns for a steering damper now.
                              Hello Danny,
It is great to see your post here after a long time bro. I keep checking your YouTube channel frequently. You have put some very useful information up here regarding mods. I have a question about the Head work done though.

Did they shave the head ? generally it is done to increase compression ratio...
How much did it cost you?

The kind of performance you mentioned is exactly what I am looking for from my bike.

                              Thanks bro....

Yes, these dealers bulls*** regarding insurance and force you to buy it from them and even go to the extent of saying there is no such as ncb. It's all for their commission.
When I had inquired about purchasing a unicorn a few years ago, i told them regarding the ncb from a previous bike and they were like 'no saar there is nothing like that'. On insisting, they simply said 'saar if you can get the insurance yourself, then go ahead.. we will release the bike to you only after seeing the insurance document'
And I don't think it will be possible for the dealer to handover the bike to you unless you have the insurance in place. So make the payment and all other paper work formalities, get the bike details (chassis/engine nos, make model blah blah) and do the insurance yourself. Then show the document to the dealer and pick up the bike.

If the dealer denies, then shoot an email to bajaj and ktm and ask them to give you in writing that such an arrangement is not possible.

there was no price hike on the slipper clutch model.
the price hike at the beginning of 2015 (that's when the slipper clutch model was released) was due to tax roll back (which were reduced during 2014) which caused prices to go up by a few k's. This affected the 200's ,390's , rc's , ninjas etc..
