The design is as you see in the first pic. I did it pretty much by eye using a one piece aluminium angle and didnt keep any measurements.

As you can see I have got rid of all the unecessary bits (saree guard[emoji14], rear hugger, mudguard, grab handle, footpegs, licence plate light). I only ride solo anyway. It bolts into the last two holes of where the rear metal plate holding the mudguard is bolted into the chassis under the rear seat. The holes for the turn signals are replicated on the new bracket.
I plan on fabricating a similar thing.. Only worry is if it voids the warranty.
Removed sari guard and mud guard on the second day itself. It looks hideous.

Warranty. No clue whether it does. Havent modified any bits at all except remove useless part (for me) and retained the original turn signals. If the bike went bust one can easily put all the original parts back in 30 min.

Guys i have done 204 kms on my RC till now, and second tank is almost over too, which is a mileage of roughly 12(pathetic I know). Could i just get some tips on how to increase mileage? I knew mileage is low and thats okay, but isn't 12ish a little too low? 18-20 is what works in city from what I know.
Since the bike is in run in period, I'd take it to 6000 rpm on every gear before shifting(which apparently kills mileage from what I saw). That was on the first tank, from full tank to reserve, which should be around 8 litres i think.
On the second tank, I rode differently, changing gears as early as possible, and like 2nd gear- 20kmph, 3rd gear - 30kmph, 4th gear 40kmph, and then 50kmph onwards till 80kmph in fifth gear, and I've seen an increase to around 14 on average, console showed 16 once. Any suggestions on what I should do?
PS 60% riding is in heavy traffic, maybe that is the problem? For those of you who live in Bangalore, its dairy circle traffic/ bannerghatta road at peak times in morning as well as evening.

          Thanks a lot guys!

Regarding the bike, no issues at all till now
Although after 2 days in bad weather its completely caked in mud and needs a washing

Isnt the abs light supposed to glow all the time while riding?
Mine seems to have a mind of its own. Sometimes its on and sometimes its off. I did fiddle with the abs function once long time back. Just 50kms on odo.

bro ..i will suggest get this check with svc...it shouldnt be on or off on its own unless u disengaged urself...afaik abs gets engaged itself after bike start even u disengaged earlier.

No. The ABS light is supposed to glow only when you switch on the ignition of your bike till you move. It should not glow once you start moving. If it si glowing while moving, something is wrong with your ABS, its not working properly. The light goes off as soon as you reach a certain speed, 5-10kmph, not sure of the exact speed.

Abs light will remain on while riding only when you have ave manually switched the ABS off

Yup n i messed it first by twisting it in opposite direction but now its ok. Have to lower the beam a little. Always read the manual before doing anything yourself, take your time, I did it in a hurry and i messed it a little.

Correct or if the ABS system is faulty.

So guys yesterday my dad took my bike for a ride.
It had fallen down when it was parked.
Clutch lever did not break has bent, minor scratches on engine casing and no damage to fairing.
What I want to know is should i replace clutch lever or opt for aftermarket ones?

Yes 12 kmpl is very low but first complete 1000 kms and then service it after that calculate mileage surely there would be some differences and take petrol from other bunk. If you are riding in heavy traffic area mileage should not go below 20. My duke is 1 year 4 months old and 12k kms on odo it gives 25 kmpl in city and 32 kmpl in highway. Fellow RC390 rider always gets mileage of more than 30 kmpl although he mainly rides on highway.

I would say replace it with stock ones. Stock clutch lever will cost you around Rs. 100/-.

Yep you're correct, I changed the petrol bunk from HP to Shell, and mileage immediately went up to 20-23 in city

A mod which is a must abroad (and now in India) as it gets rid of the ugly rear end and streamlines the rear end of a sports bike.

More over as it weighs almost next to nothing reduces weight significantly. Also there is no need for the licence plate light as the illumination from the parking light is more than sufficient.

Made this using rust proof aluminium and proper tooling. Will be powder coating this one black.

Has anyone tried Gel based/air based seats for the RC ? How bad are the stock seats for long rides or multiple day tours ?
