Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Seems like fast bikes without ABS are a death trap here in Indian road conditions. Specially when you are taking a road which is new for you. I was going quite fast on a smooth road and suddenly an humongous (I can't explain that size, how is it allowed to build such dangerous speed brakers) speed breaker without marking came infront. I applied brakes hard and I could feel the tires slipping one after the other but still in control by ABS. I am glad that I chose a small bike with all the safety features, rather than a bigger bike with no safety features.|| My Doc says bhp is directly proportional to testosterone. Your information can help others traveling on same road in future.
Also you could have taken a picture of the site and posted it on Twitter. Current government is more responsive on Twitter these days. State highways coms under state government though.

Even I realized number of times how important ABS is.Originally posted by rocker View PostSeems like fast bikes without ABS are a death trap here in Indian road conditions. Really feel bad when people dosent enforce ABS as selection criteria while choosing powerful bike specifically ninja300, r3 , tnt (no offense particular owners)
They have more faith on driving skills. And most of them argue like till now we were driving without ABS still survived then why need ABS now?
Anyways I even stopped arguing with my friends over ABS, let them choose, they are wise enough.
ride safe guys.

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Am having a strange issue. This happens occasionally, not all the time though. Its that if I turn on ignition after 6-7hours since last ride, the engine switches off abruptly like it happens during a cold start. Switch it on,give a wee bit of rev and it is fine again.
Its peak summer here and I have recently put engine ice coolant.

It's maybe caused by the engine ice coolant... Bt I'll suggest you to go SVC ASAP...Originally posted by SpeedyKol View PostAm having a strange issue. It has nothing to do with the coolant.Originally posted by SpeedyKol View PostAm having a strange issue. This happens occasionally, not all the time though. Even on a cold start, that auto choke should kick in and raise the rpm a bit when started and settle down after a few seconds. Never open the throttle when you thumb the starter.
This shutting down could be caused by a dirty throttle body, 'autochoke' (cant remember what exactly its called) not kicking in to raise the rpm automatically, bad fuel, bad spark plug and a fuel pump that not operating at right pressure at idle.
I suggest you start by first filling up the tank from a different petrol bunk once and if possible use 15ml of system g additive. And if it still continues to cause a problem check get the other items checked.
