Oh yeah sorry about that, its the front brake that causes it

Actually a helmet somewhat reduces the noise that we hear, through which I was just saying thats its a low sound when I brake, not a loud squeal or something like that

Guys, without helmet, the wind noise and ambient traffic noise drowns these squeaks and squeals. A helmet actually helps you pick these not so loud sounds made by the motorcycle.

suggest you find a straight traffic less road, take some speed (~60-70 kph) and switch off the engine, and then start braking, with your helmet on of course. you will be able to get a better idea on the type of sound.

if the braking is still good, then there is a problem with some grit getting stuck between the pads and the disk. the mechanic can just open the brake and clean it all.

otherwise there might be air in the system, but this would cause the brakes to feel spongy.
compare the braking of the forward and rear brakes independently to check for the sponginess.

Had 150KMs ride on Sunday morning.
tried Addon P first time and difference is noticeable. bike is not struggling @ low rpms.
Was easily holding speed of 25KMPH @ 3rd gear and 35kmph @ 4th gear which was earlier not so easy and smooth.
Engine feels more smooth.
What is lacking with addon P is limited top end. I was able to do 160kmph, beyond that bike is not at all picking up speed. Suspect its due to Addon P.
Will check without addon P and update.

Where do u get AddOn P and how much does it cost? Need to buy a rear paddock stand for the RC. Low on budget at the moment.

Go to Any "Indian Oil" petrol pump and ask them for addon P.
Its just small pouch of 5ml, costing RS 10.
Its marketed and available at most of the indian oil pumps.

just cut pouch and insert it into fuel tank, make sure you have at least 6-7 liters of petrol in tank.
recommended is, use 5ml for 5 liters.

These days it is available at most IOC pertrol pumps. I would say buy and stock up before they run out as it has happened with system g in some cities.. even a few years earlier adon p was sold at ioc but discontinued for a few years in between and made its way back recently.

its available in 5ml pouch (mrp.9 but sold at Rs.10) , 20ml small plastic bottle (40rs) and a bigger 200ml (or 250ml can't remember exactly)
I bought the 5 ml pouches(similar to your 1rs. shampoo sachets) the first time, they are a pain to tear and you might end up wasting a bit of the already precious 5ml
A few weeks later i went to pick up the bigger 200ml bottle, but noticed the smaller 20ml bottles.. I decided carrying and using the 20ml bottles will be easier than a single 200ml bottle. Just picked up three 20ml bottles and i keep one under the rear seat on my D200 (it's as small as those tiny alcohol bottles)
the bottle is sturdy, no leaks , has a 2ml graduation on the neck, leak proof and easy to carry around than a bigger 200ml bottle.
i must say it has definitely made a very noticeable improvement especially in the 2nd,3rd, and 4th gears on my d200.. am able to hold higher rpms before shifting up.. for example i used to find the urge to shift up at around 60mpkh from 4th to 5th.. now i am able to hold 70kmph in 4th and the firing and engine feels nice. and not to mention i noticed that it returned a 40kmpl mileage on a recent highway run where the usual mileage figure had been 36kmpl (two lane highway cruising between 80-90kmph)..and in the city i get the usual 32kmpl.

Hello guys. I recently had my helmet stolen from my bike.
It was an ls2 helmet.
Any suggestions on which helmet should i buy next? Are MT helmets good?

I use an mt helmet and can vouch for it. Be careful man. That's why i always carry the helmet around.

It was a bad decision to lock it on my bike. It was the first time i did it and now its gone.. Anyway it needed replacement. I'm just glad my bike isn't damaged..
Do you know where I can buy MT helmets in pune?

Thanks a lot Nilesh and s1d. I plan to get hold of a reasonably priced paddock stand, engine ice (what is the lowest on offer?) & full synth shell oil for the time being. Odo reading 72kms.
Got another small problem. The blokes at the RTO have skipped an alphabet in the chassis number. They are looking into it.

Bike is one hot oven to ride, the fan kicks in almost every other minute... is engine ice the only solution? What is the cost of it? What is the stock coolant used by ktm service?
Sorry for all the silly questions.

i doubt engine ice will make a huge difference, you can of course give it a try and let us know your feedback. the fan is just doing its duty and you should be worried if the fan doesn't come on. that's how this bike behaves stop worrying and enjoy the bike, in a few weeks you will get used to it.
they use either castrol radicool or motul coolant from the factory.. the svc's i've seen all use the motul inugel (not the motocool) and sometimes even the MAK redicool from Bharat petroleum.
I recently rode an r3 and the fan on it comes on pretty often especially when ridding slow/in traffic, but its much more silent and the heat is not felt as much due to the faring
another work around if you are bothered by the fan sound is to install a spal fan..of course it would void warranty but from the reviews i've read, it runs much quieter and is more reliable. you can read more about this 'spal' fan mod over here Spal Fan Instal How To - KTM Duke 390 Forum

always ensure you are using an oil of the grade XXw50 (10w50 , 15w50, 20w50), unless you are living in some cold place like the hills or himlayas, you may use a 10w40 oil which is what shell has at the moment in their fully synthetic range.
The motul 7100 is a pretty good oil.
