Yes if my memory serves me right, yes can adjust the vertical play on the brake pedals, but you need to be a little careful, you have a small nut which connects the brake MS (that rod) fiddling with it might gives you intended results.

As you know the RC is purely a track focused machine, with ergonomics that aspire for a race stance. Usually these aggressive riding stance do indeed, bring about, shoulder, wrist and palm aches, or even worse spinal injuries. There isn't much you can do about the position, apart from taking appropriate breaks when you exceed your pain threshold, or look for a better comfortable alternative.

From my understanding riding the Duke, I can pretty much safely say, yes, the mileage levels are on the lower side.

Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

• Registration Book for KTM RC 390

Hey Guys

Ive planned a trip for coming Monday To Goa from Mumbai on my new KTM RC 390 now the problem i have is i have got my permanent registration number
and the tax papers & one year PUC receipt from the RTO however have not got my registration book (RC Book). I asked a couple of traffic police who told
its fine to travel within the state with those papers but I will face a problem if I'm checked in Goa. If this is true I will have to cancel my trip and wait till i get
my RC book

My KTM RC390 will be delivered tomorrow. It is the January 2015 model.
I will be going to take the delivery by myself tomorrow and I have very little knowledge in delivery process. So can any of you give me details or just a checklist?
As far as I know, I'll have to collect Insurance papers, Invoice and RTO Registration Papers and see if the PDI has been done. Anything else that I should check?
Thank You!
P.s- Im just 18 and I dont know much about delivery/documents because my Dad used to take care of all that but this time he wont be able to make it that day!

ok so a short review here of the ride to shimla! we went at the time of republic day..
when the hills started i was in 3 gear all throughout. its good from 50 kmph to around 103 kmph if iam not wrong.
its a screamer as we all know and overtaking is a joy!
cornering was fantastic. way better than the ninja 300 which i had for company.
but then even at hard cornering i could only go uptil 4th mark on the rear metzeler. such are the limits of the RC.
and to avoid scraping the underbelly while cornering, you should hang out more from the bike. that way the bike keeps straigher until you get the powerparts bellypan!
ps- battery cover vibrations are back at low rpms n it sucks!
some pics for a little viewing pleasure

Thank you. Any idea what could be the issue? Should I get it checked at SVC?

First off congrats on your new acquisition. Secondly, your bike would be by default, be taken to RTO for a temp registration from the folks at the SVC, where in, they'll firstly insure your motorcycle, life tax, road taxes all will be included in the price, if you're paying total on road price (differs from place to place) Now if you want to do the registration process by yourself, say if you would like to customize your number, you can get your bike, the insurance papers and temp registration documents and head home that's it.

Then you personally have to head to RTO office and do the paperwork which is hardly an hour job, and then the waiting begins for your RC book and number. RC book and registration details will be always from RTO. This is if you would like to do the registration by yourself, for a custom registration number etc. But if you're better off the hassle of RTO, you can pay the full price, in showroom they will take care of everything therein, for you.

Coming to PDI, make sure, your coolant, engine oil, tire pressure are all at the recommended levels. Check for switchgear functions, horn, indicator, high beam, starter button brake lights, both rear pedal and front brake lever. Go for a test ride, see if there are any unusual sounds or vibrations. All pretty basic stuffs.

Please do post some high res photos, especially the rear shockers, the engine casing side, all angle possible, it would help us discern if there are any improvements made to the motorcycle.

Congrats again!

Cheers!

mustang28 showed me the manual of the new rc390, the service intervals(including oil changes) have been pushed up by 2500km.. i.e. earlier the interval used to be 5000km and now its 7500km !! The number of days though remains the same. wonder what made ktm do that !

quality i dont know, but i think most people will not be doing that kind of mileage. 7500km in 4 months ? maybe only 10% of people would do such mileage.
battery cover is a known issue.. i think they are replacing the rubber mounts on the first few lots, i saw them doing it.

The only update I could 'see' is the Service interval being revised to 7500kms in the service book. Rest looks the same.
The switchgears feel a bit different from the TD bike (but it could be me!). There are still battery cover/tank cap vibes.

Will post some high res. pictures of rear suspension areas soon.
