Oh man! Finally someone comes with an aftermarket exhaust.
Now as a good samaritan you definitely should do the4 following:
1. Click some pictures with the bike so that we ca see how good it fits the RC.
2. Click some more pics of the bellypan mods.
3. Put a youtube video link of the sound.
4. Any backfiring? Or engine running lean or rich? Any ECU upgrade needed?
5. Do not be lazy and feed us with all above as we are very very interested in this mod.

I\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'d been looking for a good aftermarket exhaust for my bike ever since I took delivery as I\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'ve always believed in the \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"loud pipes save lives\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\", especially on Delhi roads and our highways. I\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'d spoken to a few people in Karol Bagh and was not satisfied by what they were offering.

So last Sunday, i went to KTM Lajpat Nagar and after talking and being convinced by them, I installed the IXIL L3X Dual Hyperlow (Carbon Black). The exhaust which fits the Duke 390 is an exact fit for the RC390. However, the belly faring which houses the stock exhaust tip touches the bend pipe of the IXIL exhaust tip and melts away (hardly a few millimetres). The part which melts away will not be a hinderance in case you wish to switch back to the stock exhaust.

The fitting of the exhaust took approximately an hour, and there were two of us, me and my friend so both the exhausts were fitted in around two hours.

I\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'ve been using the exhaust with both the baffles removed and the bike really growls. And as more carbon is accumulating inside the exhaust the sound is getting throatier. There does seem to be more mid-range punch in the bike because of the exhaust but it could well be my imagination due to the growl of the bike.

The cost of the exhaust including the fitting was Rs. 27,000/-.

So, Finally booking mine this Saturday!.

My finance looks like = 68000 down payment (30000 booking + 38000 at delivery), at 6% interest rate for 1 year. EMI little mor than 12k as per showroom guy? ... mentioning these details in case anybody knows of a better scheme

Also, showroom guy was negative on lesser waiting period ...said it will be around 90 days itself. I will apply the \'pester the showroom guy by dropping in every weekend\' strategy :P , but anyone took delivery from KTM, Adyar in Chennai ? their experience and waiting period ??
Thanks

Something\'s wrong with the EMI amount.

Assuming on road price in Chennai to be 2.42L, after deducting your downpayment of 68k, the loan amount comes to 1.76L.
At 12K EMI for 1 year (12 months), the total EMI amount comes to 1.44L. Now there is no way by which the total EMI amount could be lesser than the loan amount itself. That would mean a negative interest!

TeeJayy - Yes bro you are right, the guy gave quite incorrect details on phone. !

Finally Booked and just came back. Finance is like - 68,807 down payment and 12 EMIs of 16,334 at 9.5%. OTR in chennai is 2,41,737.

My waiting list number is only 13 , so hopefully shouldn\'t take 90 days .

Showroom guys seemed very good as of now, lets see how is goes .!

Also read news of a test mule RC being tested, in the process of upgrades to current niggles. I cant wait for an upgrade anymore, Im just hoping the new parts etc installed can be fit on older bikes as well!.

I booked my RC390 on 23rd December at KTM Marathalli, Bangalore. They had to receive 12 bikes on 27th December but haven\'t received yet. Had been to the showroom 2 days ago where i was told that the bikes have been dispatched from the factory and it shouldn\'t take more than a week before I get my delivery. When I asked why the stocks that had to come in Dec never came, He told me that they changed some parts in production and the bike I will receive will be the newer one. If your bike hasn\'t hit the showroom yet, I guess even you\'ll get the updated version.

SNK is your best option, although I had a very friendly process with KTM Wakdewadi. And now even KTM Baner also has joined in. So whichever dealer you choose, you can\'t go wrong. Just check whichever dealer\'s SVC is nearby to your home, because that\'s where you probably have to visit more than the Dealer showroom.

Sorry to burst your bubble but the EMI you are paying is insanely expensive!

To give you a perspective, for any loan, there are two ways of calculating interest % - flat rate and reducing balance rate.

EMI at x% flat rate is always much more expensive x% reducing balance. MOST of the home/ personal/ car loans are at reducing balance rate. AFAIK, the ongoing vehicle loan interest rate (reducing balance) is ~ 12%.

Now, in your case, the loan amount comes to Rs. 172,930 and the EMI is 16,334 for 12 months. Going by these numbers, the interest rate comes to a whopping 23.8% reducing balance and 13% fixed! Refer EMI Calculator for Home Loan, Car Loan & Personal Loan in India for reducing balance and Shriram City - EMI Calculator for flat rate calculations.

I strongly recommend you to recheck with ur FInance company or look for alternate options like personal loan.

Yes. My showroom guy said the same thing, when I asked about lots he is recieving. Said there were no lots in December, so I guess Pan india they stopped. But the reason he gave me for this was the price increase. He said there was a planned price increase so thery stopped giving lots and resumed only after price hike. Not sure. He doesnt have bikes now, so mine will be from the newer lot itself. Lets see.

Finance is not my strongest point, but still here is what i see :
According to Shantnu:
downpayment = 68, 807
12 emis: 16334 x 12 = 196008
Hence total = 264815

On road price: 241737

Hence the extra amount he pays on taking a loan = 264815-241737 = 23078

\'x\' interest
(x/100) * 241737 = 23078
which is approx 9.5 %

Hi,

I have booked RC390 a month back, but now I am wondering whether to go for RC390 or RC200.
Does any 1 here feel that you should have purchased RC200 considering mileage or city riding or maintenance for any reason ?
Does RC390s taller gear ratio will be a problem in city traffic ?
Please share your experience on mileage , maintenance cost and city riding. I will be riding in Bangalore traffic.

After this I wont be buying any sports bike So please suggest.
