Regarding the issue - What do you mean taking a lot of load? I mean, change in sound? The bike jitters ? You feel like you are loosing the momentum ?
Ya it wa me had faced a horrifying time as I was on my trip to hyderabad at that time.

Well after getting the radiator and fan replaced, things are lot better than they used to be, i can see the deifference now because the fan is not constantly running all the times, it gets cutoff after sometime earlier once the fan kicked in it never used to stop running and i thought thats how it works, but in reality it should cool the bike in a few minutes and get cutoff which is happening now, so its definitely better now and also the temperature guage is always a bit less than what it use to be earlier.

By taking load I mean to say that at speeds between 80and 95 suddenly the I can feel that the chain is pulling very hard, I can feel that the gear box is trying to pull very hard, It feels like the chain has suddenly become very tight, In other terms it feels something like when you pull both ends of a rope it becomes very stiff and tight, thats how I feel at speeds between 80 and 95. I might have made it a bit complicated in the way i explained but I am not getting any proper terms to explain it, because unless we feel it its difficult to understand. one thing you have pointed out is correct on loosing momentum because there is a drop in acceleration as the bike is not running smoothly during that period.

Just an info for you all. The Akrapovic exhaust is available at the ASC but it would cost 80,000 rs , but to get the full HP gains an ECU mapping has to be done which will cost another 20,000 rs and for down south owners this mapping can be done only at Bangalore ASC.

Hi, so this is for all you guys who wish to change to an aftermarket exhaust on the RC390.

I\\\\\\\'d been looking for a good aftermarket exhaust for my bike ever since I took delivery as I\\\\\\\'ve always believed in the \\\\\\\"loud pipes save lives\\\\\\\", especially on Delhi roads and our highways. I\\\\\\\'d spoken to a few people in Karol Bagh and was not satisfied by what they were offering.

So last Sunday, i went to KTM Lajpat Nagar and after talking and being convinced by them, I installed the IXIL L3X Dual Hyperlow (Carbon Black). The exhaust which fits the Duke 390 is an exact fit for the RC390. However, the belly faring which houses the stock exhaust tip touches the bend pipe of the IXIL exhaust tip and melts away (hardly a few millimetres). The part which melts away will not be a hinderance in case you wish to switch back to the stock exhaust.

The fitting of the exhaust took approximately an hour, and there were two of us, me and my friend so both the exhausts were fitted in around two hours.

I\\\\\\\'ve been using the exhaust with both the baffles removed and the bike really growls. And as more carbon is accumulating inside the exhaust the sound is getting throatier. There does seem to be more mid-range punch in the bike because of the exhaust but it could well be my imagination due to the growl of the bike.

The cost of the exhaust including the fitting was Rs. 27,000/-.

Hi, I have a few questions for RC 390 owners.

Are you guys using this bike as a daily commute or weekend rides ?
Have you guys sold your previous bike or still using it?

I am asking these 2 questions because I plan to use this bike as a daily commute and I very rarely see this bike in Bangalore traffic . Also I don\\\\\\\'t plan to keep my current bike once I get the RC390, so is this going to be a problem.

            Please help me out.

It entirely depends on one\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s discretion. If you are the kind of guy who hits the bends on weekends, then it\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'d be a great tool. But on the other side, if you\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'re a guy who commutes most of the time to work, then I\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'d suggest you have a commuter specifically for such a purpose. The RC doesn\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t like B2B traffic, doesn\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t like to be lugged around, especially when it\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s cooking itself from its own oven. Keep the RC for weekends, and use the commuter for daily chores, this way you reduce unnecessary wear and tear on the motorcycle, plus you save on fuel too.

              Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
              The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

              THE END

Ive booked an RC 390 at the trichy showroom Since I am currently doing btech here . too excited since the day I booked and can\\\'t wait to get her
Took an extensive test ride of about 30 kms ( within city + highway ) before booking the bike . I was quiet concerned about the riding posture though after the rest ride I dint find any stress anywehere excpet my left palm because of the heavy clutch .
Thing is I am placed at chennai and will be starting work by june . so I\\\'ll be doing a lot of city commuting during the rush hour chennai traffic .
It would be great if someone could tell me how the bike holds up in such heavy traffic .
The main thing I had in mind while booking the RC 390 was to take her to the MIDC regularly for track days . but chennai traffic something that I am quiet wary of . so is it better to keep my current ride ( Rx 135 ) for city commuting or sell the bike and buy myself some riding gear ?
Also I\\\'ll be doing occasional chennai - Bangalore , chennai - Pondicherry rides .. So it would be great if someone could share their touring experiences on the RC 390 !

                    Thanks guys
                    Ride safe !

                    Hey congrats..

Hope you have gotten your bike by now. Well, i recommend its practical to keep a secondary bike if the case is that you are a daily commuter and ride around the city alot. Bikes like these arent exactly very economical to take around and running them around city means constant gear changes and alot of stop and go traffic which will minimize your mileage alot. Eitherway congrats on getting placed at Chennai. It\'d be better option if you start saving enough of your income and get good riding or track gears, and keep a secondary bike for your daily commuting and grocery shopping. The pain on palm are usual. Its a very forward biased seating. Dont worry though your body will adapt and adjust. Just make sure you love the bike you own and the bike will love you back. Just have an understanding.

Price is definitely good but performance would not increase without an engine remap right ?

Also could we please see some clear close up day light shots of the exhaust.

Hey! I have been using the RC for my daily commute from the time I got it. The bike gets hot, but the radiator ( till it worked, getting it replacement now) keeps the temp in check. You wrists will take a beating during the first few days, and once you find the sweet spot it\'s good.
The rear view mirrors, might not be THAT helpful, but it does work once you adjust it correctly.

Got the Love of my life (RC 390) 2 days back and i still think im dreaming , only 100 kms done till now but whenever i ride, i get a feeling that i hv ridden this beast in my earlier birth!
                            ok.. that too melodramic
Will be riding every day (40 kms every weekdays to my office + weekend ride \"xxx kms\" ) so 1st servicing is not far away!
its a bliss cruising this bike above 80kmph and the engine feels soo smooth above 80kmph.
only issue i faced is the engine temperature , its get somewhat hot, is that normal ? (although i never faced the engine temp high warning till now)
good thing is that route to my office is mostly open roads and i travel early to my office so no traffic!

i\'ll going to Great Rann of Kutch (from Pune) next month so looking for some advice, whoever done the long distance run on this bike. (about the precautions that i should take).

Engine temperature being high is normal. Just ensure that the radiator fan is kicking in (from the fan running noise) and you should be good.
There is no better therapy than riding a bike down a straight road at full throttle with the sound of the engine for company.
