Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
I think the waiting period for delivery of RC's has decreased drastically. They told me 1 week when I booked my RC390 day before yesterday. When I met the showroom guy today he told that my bike is already dispatched yesterday evening. YAY!!
P.S. May be it is the festive season that is helping me here.

You know the answers before even asking the question. Didn't you ?Originally posted by VYSHAKH VJ View PostGuys... If it was me at your situation, I simply do nothing and wait for the RC390. Imagine you riding a RC200 and see a RC390 zooming past you!!
Jokes apart. I personally feel 390 will give for mileage (not km per liter) for the biker in you till you get a bigger machine.Suzuki GS150R(Balck) 2009- 2012
Yamaha R15 V2(LE white) 2012 and Honda Dio V2 Matte

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Hey everyone
So I have been using this site since 2 years but just turned 18 this October first so thought of making a permanent account and then review my bikes
So let's start
but first of all..
Here she is
I went to PR Bajaj on 15 September to buy this bike
and since I was buying it from my own saving I was kindoff excited
Bought it on finance tough
The acceptance of loan took just 30 minutes
but then the KTM showroom was around 7-8 kilometres aways and they said that I can either go and pick up the bike from there or an employee will bring it here
i was kinda not so sure of letting anyone else drive it back here and couldn't go that far at that time so I insisted and they bought the bike on a mini truck or whatever they call it here in India(ps it's been just 2 years since I came to India)
I went back home to pick up a few things and came back at the showroom to pick up the bike near 7-7:30 pm and there she was:
She just WOWWWED me
i didn't take a test drive nor every looked at it up close and personal
i just saw the reviews here on xbhp and YouTube and bought it
the first thing I did was a full pdi and everything turned out fine no problem anywhere
took the bike out of the underground place where they kept it and the first thing they said was " Aap pehley esey insaan hai jinney pehli baar ye bike chalai and stall bhi ni ki"
completed the paper work and took it back home
well I felt more of a celebrity on this than when I had bought an r15 v1 which was the first model of Lucknow
I really didn't feel any vibrations which shocked me cause of the amount of people telling about its vibrations
The power of this bike didn't put a smile on my face in the beginning cause I think I am used to driving my r6 but then I twisted the throttle and the mid range put a big grin on my face
and then the usual radiator got on and I thought there was a temple nearby and a horn or trumpet( no offence I don't know the name of it) was being blown but realised that it was the radiator
got to a imambara and did the rituals and then went to the petrol bunk to fill it up
and the whole station came out and was staring at the bike
gave each person a 10 ruppee tip and they were quite happy
then I got a phone call from KTM RING ROAD and they said to bring the bike there tomorrow of possible and they will tell me everything about it
i took it there in the morning and when I came back home the coolant storage place was making some weird noises
i didn't notice it first but when I got off my bike I saw this...
My heart beat stooped
i immediately called the showroom and the guy Nitesh said to wait and he'll come in the evening at my place to check cause he didn't want me to take the trouble and come this far again but after a while the coolant tank got empty so I called him again and he said okay come and then the operation began
They immediately took my bike in the service centre and started opening and checking it
lucky Nitesh is a guy who checks all the super bikes of Lucknow and near by places and the other guy is the main technical supervisor of the area, so my bike was getting vip attention they where checking each part along with the temperatures of all the places and stuff
luckily it got fixed and I came back home
the chain was a little tight which he looses and even lubed it and while coming back I felt a little vibrations while got fixed in about 20 miles (yes I use miles instead of kilometres, just used to it)
the only problem I have with the bike is its mileage, I'm not evening getting 20 guess it's because I usually stay between 1-2 mostly, will be the first service done next week and then check the mileage
okay then it was the day of my coaching
literally everyone was just starting at me even the teachers and authority came to see it and when it got over and I was going back home they all where standing out just to see and hear the bike
Total VVIP feeling I tell ya
things I hate are pulsars and other low cc bike users coming near me and revving their bikes to say they want to race me and I laugh and ignore them cause I'll be long gone in just a blink of an eye
the ktm mark on the visor gets hidden cause of the number place which I don't like
and I can easily shift from first to neutral without a second try and I can't feel any vibrations
i guess I'm just lucky I got a really refined one with no radiator or any problem till now (fingers crossed )
ill upload more pics later
heres the last pic for today
my network is giving me errors while uploading the pics so I'll do it once it gets fixed
sorry againLast edited by DoubleagentZ; 10-19-2015, 03:30 PM.

The model on sales now is the 2015 model and has no difference compared to the model that was launched last year.Originally posted by RX100 View PostAre there any differences between a RC 390 2015 and 2014 models?

There is no confusion my friend.. Get a RC390 (since you have zeroed in on the RC anyway).Originally posted by VYSHAKH VJ View PostGuys... She will race, she will tour and she will bring a smile on your face each time you twist the throttle. Only thing you have to do is learn her ways which you will while you run her in.
Finally, can a RC390 be ridden like a RC200 - Yes, anytime and anywhere!
But can a RC200 be ridden like a RC390 - I guess you know the answer!
Ride Safe. There is no better therapy than riding a bike down a straight road at full throttle with the sound of the engine for company.

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
I envy you brother.. At your age, the only option my dad gave me was a Hero Puch!!Originally posted by VYSHAKH VJ View PostBro ....previously i owned a discover 150 ...and i became madly in love with ktm rc models and other superbikes like huyosung,ninja,ducati..etc..... i have requested my parents to get me a rc model or huyosung. .....there came the turning point....my dad said that he would get me huyosung gt 650 if i wait for 6 more months....or i need a rc right now.....these all occured due to my madness towards superbikes....and sportbikes......as i became a complete bike freak...

Jokes apart.. I have no idea about the Hyosung 650. You can check in the Hyosung 650 thread.
RC390 is regarded as the learners 'sportsbike' along with Ninja 300 and R3 the world over. If you have a track nearby, the RC is your best bet to learn sport biking. KTM also organizes track days regularly.
Whatever you buy do remember that sports bikes are for sports track - on the road a splendor or a discover 150 should be treated with the same respect as a RC390 or Ninja 650.There is no better therapy than riding a bike down a straight road at full throttle with the sound of the engine for company.
