My d390 has reached 108 kmph in third gear after that rev limiter kicks in.
And my bike is completely stock.

will try to hit the limiter and see the speed. lets see. it happens so fast that i hardly get time to look at the meter at that point in time.

i think my money is well spent and the bike roars.

Good morning Guys!! Just returned after filling gas. I checked the efficiency by the full tank method. 188 km for 7.19 L i.e. 26kmpl. Is this good or bad? The bike is still in running in period.

It'd be helpful of you to post some high res pics of your RC clutch casing, left throttle grip with the clutch lever in position and your engine number stamped beneath.

Cheers!

Whats the points to keep in mind during this summer to keep the RC well?
dont know how much the bike heating will be there during hot summer

After some registration drama got mine delivered too! .... it was coming last week, but I was out of town so took it yest. Pretty happy with the buying experience tho!
B7ACKTHORN - Do you still want close up pics of my bike? I guess you went to the showroom and saw yrself the Dukes and the RCs. Mine is January manufacture itself. Lemme knw

Plannning some minimal visual changes to suit my tastes, will post picsonce that is done. Bike name is Toothless ... might change it to 'Night Fury' in sometime, lets see still thinking :P.

Riding the bike is awessomeee!!! ..... The manual says keep it below 7.5K, and that is all I can do. Earlier I thought ill stay below 6, but that i quite difficult during acceleration in 3rd gear at least :P .... Really trying to keep revs low, planning a drive to bangalore this week to get over with 1000kms - Anyone wants to join?

280kms done till now and initial views -
- Surprisingly nimble bike, I would say as numble as my RTR. Zig-Zag is easy :P
- I like the riding position ... did only 80kms at a stretch till now, but did not have any troubles in back, arms etc. Body seems to be aligned mentally to sit like that :P
- The engine sound seems to be improving every 50kms :P .... more importantly when engine breaking happens is when you realize that YESS its 375cc massive single , amazing sound when you leave the throttle.
- Due to the sound of the KTM engine which is quite different, I find it a little difficult to judge when the bike is taking load and you need to downshift. Sometimes I realize only when it starts lugging. . Trying to know the bike better.
- You can drive the bike on 1st gear too, earlier I used to put 2nd by 10kmph, but now i drive till 20kmph to put second. The bike will improve slowly on min speed at a gear but for now toothless seems comfy at 2nd gear - after20kmph , 3rd gear - after 35kmph , 4th gear - After 50kmph, 5th gear after 65kmph . 6th after 90kmph but idealy 6th seems poweful only after 110.
- Riding at a constant low speed, say 25 on 2nd gear is not smooth. The engine seems uneven and kind of missing :-/.... on 3rd gear too 40 sometimes gets uneven if driven on that speed for more than 5-6 seconds. Not sure if this is normal ---- any comments?

Cheers

Dude you are shifting early, Upshift from
1st till 20 - 25 (it goes @ 11kmph just by opening the clutch and no throttle input try you can do slow riding with just left hand on clutch)
2 nd till 30
3 rd till 50
4th @60 is good. (try riding in city @4th gear )
goto 5th @80 and
6th only if you are planning above 90.

Thats the reason you feel the gears are having less power.
I sometimes spend my highway rides in 5th itself

A learning from our pulsars and apaches we shift earlier on them , shift late on your toothless

Hmm... revving the engine past 4.5-5RPM in the first 2 gears feels kinda odd. The engine sound gets too loud ....
But ya, will try shifting to 4th, 5th and 6th as you mentioned, I think bike should be more comfortable there.

Cheers

you know i did baby the bike till about 1200 kms on the odo. now in city rides i shift max to 3rd and highways 5th. nevr use the 6th unless i want a speed run.
and no prizes for guessing with the new exhaust, the bike howls. it does not scream anymore.

Hmm... yes. Im tryng my est to do that. Tho I keep RPM below 7.5, it gets difficult to accelerate slowly and I tend to accelerate fast ... hopefully will be able to manage the rest of 800 odd kms left. The longer trip to Bangalore should help.

Bro, I also want to get the Visor wrapped in Matt Black -
1) I asked a Bike Modficiation shop and it asked 1500 for covering the whole Visor Part, and 3500 for painting the Rims. Im planning to go to a normal Car sticker shop and they should do it in 500rs or so I tihnk. The Wheel paining will be abt 2000.

How much was your cost for the visor Wrap? It is Matt Black right? And you got it from a normal Sticker shop or somewhere else ?

Cheers
