our highways are best ridden at around the 100 mark max , especially on two wheelers. you never know what could pop up or dart across the road.

if he can live with the lower FE and heat the 390 produces, then that would be a good choice if more speed is his requirement.
btw, why don't you look at the cbr 250 ? it's more refined than say the 200 and returns similar fe and can cruise at slightly higher speeds. It cost's a bit more, but i think would suit your requirement (unless you are bent on the ktm's for whatever reason)
