Any thing i need to take care of while taking delivery?

It has Eurogrips. Any suggestions for good replacement tyres.
went to a local MRF dealer, he had front FX1 (not FY1 Rs 1800) and rear Revs-S (Rs 2800) in stock size. how are these?

hope to have a pleasant experience as this is going to be my first bike. (had an LML NV Spl scooter from 2001 to 2007).

EDIT: Any special care to be taken for running-in in the Hills?
Just the usual PDI checks, make sure you have no broken or scratched panels. Usually before delivery they wash the bike and wipe it clean, which in my case was done by the security guard. The duffer used a dirty rag and managed some swirls on the tank before I could stop him.

Make sure not many kms are clocked on the odo, mine had only .5 kms on it, it was just rolled out from the truck.

Makes sure it wasn't a display bike or a TD bike! you can find that by inspecting the tire, foot rest, brake/gear lever rubbers. See if it had fallen down, you will see scratches on the bar end weights and the leg guard.

All electricals should be functional, no funny noises. If something doesnt seem right, dont buy statements like it will be sorted in few kms. yes the bike will vibe a bit and sound lil harsh for a few hundred kms, brakes will take some time to set as well, everything else should be fine from the start.

Oh, another thing, check for the choke! they left it on in my bike and the bike was revving to 2.5K RPM at idle. took a while for me to figure it out as the choke lever is hidden away + i thought this bike had a auto choke like the ol 220.

I got the bike with the eurogrips as well, its not as bad as I expected it. I would suggest you try them and then think of swapping unless you are getting a good deal for the new one or if you are keen on replacing. Wet grip seems to be ok at normal speeds with the Eurogrips.

Hmmm, I haven't panic braked yet, will watch out for it. I felt it was marginally better than the worst available tire on earth 'conti go'

Will be checking out for RevZ options soon.

mine had 2.9 KM on the ODO. and they dont offer ANY test rides. so wasnt used as test vehicle. had a lot of paper/cardboar/plastic covers which were ripped in front of me. also had a moulded plastic cover on the engine.

          all lights/horns are working.

makes a lot of noise but i dont have any idea of bikes so dont know how much of it is normal or not. I hope it becomes much better after 1st service, dont want to live with this ruckuss forever.

Checked out the two MRF dealers here but only one had a Revz-S in 130/70R17. So decided to ride with the eurogrips and change when i go to chandigarh.

I saw the manual. service interval:
          1st 500-750km or 30-45 days
          2nd 4500-5000 km or 240 days
          3rd 9500-10000km or 360 days
afterwards every 5000km or 120 days.

I thought the second interval was wrong. 2nd service after 240 days! shouldnt it be 2nd 120 days , 3rd 240 days, 4th 360 days and so on....
Saw an RS200 manual and it had the same thing!

Good catch there with the service interval bro, I think they reduced a free service but forgot to re calculate the # of days I guess the NS / 220 came with 4 free services earlier.

Also, make sure to check if the dealer has removed the cardboard cover from the radiator. I saw a red AS 200 at Auto Service when I had left my bike for 1st service. The SA told me that the dealer had not removed the cardboard cover from the radiator, and the owner took the vehicle on a long ride without realizing this. The owner started seeing warning lights on the console, and brought it to Auto Service. The SA showed me a photo of the radiator with the cover he had taken.

re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences

Hey Guys, I am new into motorcycling and new to this web portal as well. Please guide me if I am doing anything wrong.

I bought Pulsar AS200 from Khivraj, Bangalore. It is clocked 108 Km as off now. I have read all posts here and I am making sure to keep myself updated about bike and stuff.

I will share my experience with bike. I have ridden few bikes before like Apache 150, pulsar 180 etc. This is my fist bike so i do not have much to compare with.

                • Engine: Runs smooth. ( have ridden mostly < 4K RPM ) . I got max speed of 55 at 4K RPM. Idle RPM stays mostly above 1.5 K RPM. Today was 2 K RPM which I think is not proper. Please advice me on this. Choke is off, I checked it. There are noticeable vibes on foot-pegs, no doubt. I have not noticed much in fairing and handlebar. other than that sound is okay.

                • Shift gear: I felt smooth gear-shift. I dont have problem with "click" sound. short gearing indeed. I keep my feet engage in city traffic all the time. I dont know if I am making mistake or something wrong with gear shift indicator. Some times I dont notice blink on "N" while going 1-2 gear or 2-1.

                • I got Blue one. Styling is subjective to personal view. I didnt actually look Blue one before buying. They had only Red and Black. I was skeptical but I am Extremely happy with BLUE color and looks of Bike. It is not eye catching but at the same time gives elegant look.

                • Handling: I thought it would not be easy as it is heavy in traffic but I am quite comfortable with handling in Bangalore traffic. It is not difficult to ride due to weigh but it gets difficult when bike's engine is off. It takes significant energy to park and move in-out. I am not a racer so I dont know much about corner carving and all.

                • Tyre: I got Eurogrip despite insisting on MRF a lot. I had only heard about bad quality of Eurogrip. Once in parking of my office. it was raining so floor was wet and it is smoother compare to actual roads we ride. My rear type skid in panic break at speed of 15 Kmph only. Nothing happened but Do not trust tyres guys. specially in rains which happens a lot in Bangalore.

Overall. For now I am quite happy with bike. let's see how it behaves in future with high RPM and long rides.

Congrats on your new bike! I have a blue one too

                    * regarding the gearshift. 1-N-2 and 2-N-1 doesn't give a positive feel in my AS too, hoping it will get smooth with time.
                    * handling is decent for a tall bike, leans nicely into corners and remains composed.
                    * Eurogrips are bad, but ok for city use. on polished concrete flooring most tires would loose traction esp if its wet as well. I guess my previous exp with 'ContiGo' makes the eurogrips feel better looking to swap to MRFs soon.

I was at Khivraj Indira Nagar today, looks like they are churning lot out more AS150 than the AS200. Saw 8 AS150s being prepped for delivery vs 1 AS200.

by the way does any one have experience with the Khivraj Service center in Kalyan Nagar ? I was planning to get my 1st Service done there since the Indira Nagar seems to be overcrowded + you really need to force them to stay with the bike while its being serviced.

First of all congratulations on your new bike I am sure you are loving your new bike. I just wanted to know how well does its headlamp performs during night time riding. It would have been very much helpful if you post some images of its illumination power at night.

I am actually planning to get my hands on the AS200 and I ride mostly during night.

The low beam projector is good only for city riding. If you want to take the bike on a highway, you will have to use the high beam, which has an amazing throw. The reason why the projector is not good for highway is that the throw of the beam is short though it is good. And on highways, you need the beam to illuminate the road as far ahead as possible, which the high beam does very well.

The trashy noise is nothing new. Thing is NS/AS has low exhaust sound, thus other sounds are heard more, like chain, engine etc. NS ownership won't get you trashy sound with helmet on issue, cause nobody discussed such.

That's maybe because wind noise drowns out the 'thrashy' sounds on the naked NS!

In other news, I owned an NS earlier. I loved that bike, even rode from Bangalore to Pune on it in 12 hours!
Unfortunately had to sell him off to settle some stupid financial mess that I got myself into. The AS200 looks
gorgeous to me and really completes the package that the NS was! Hoping to get mine in a month or two! (fingers crossed)
