Thats really nice. Even for my CL, the service centre guy who attended my vehicle used to call me after 7 days (exactly) to check on the issue/niggles.
But, Its a great step from such a firm to keep in touch with their customers.

May be they are tyring to prove a point that, you can also grin from ear-to-ear through our feedback calls too..not only by riding our bikes

          Disclaimer:

This has been put down based on my experience with the Beast Incarnate. No offense meant to anyone.

Today morning was usually dull, going through the same crap routine of dropping my wife at her bus stop and taking care of some household chores. Ringtone buzzed, happily singing along...Answered it in a jiffy and dropped the phone then and there and rushed to get my bike out of the parking lot and off in a minute out of the house. I didnt tell my mum either where i was heading along.

Travelled 5 kms from home and headed towards the finish line. There it was waiting for me. The White angel draped in red scarf, beautiful she was gleaming in the sun.

          Yes, the TNT 600i.
Met the showroom incharge, signed the papers for the test drive, handed over my DL and took off after few lessons from the man in charge.

My initial expressions were...wowwww...First time in my life driving a Inline-4. I was all smiles when I turned on the Famous flip-type ignition key (seeing this type for the first time), It struck the right cord in my heart when I pressed the ignition button and I was ready to take off....

Then he came from behind and said, Calm your senses down brother and be careful not to get yourself killed. I was WTF ??? He was joking apparently.

Gave a pat on my back and I was good to go. Travelled in B2B traffic in peak hour, took left and right turns to find empty space, blipped open the throttle, 2nd gear, 6k rpm, kick to the back, doing 85kmph, didnt have enough balls to push it further and no more tarmac to play with. Took U-turn and came back to the main road and travelled through crawling traffic, free traffic, tested hard-braking, lane splitting ....all done with ease. Was able to go till 5th gear only, didnt find enough free road. But I was happy with the TD overall.

Few things which was disappointment to me personally was the Mirror (which can be changed though), could have more contact area rather than those Fish-eyes like design. The throttle response was not the very best, I was told, the bike i drove was India's 7th manufactured and it was the first lot and had lot of niggles. the recent ones (i.e.) 4th batch has better response and have addressed all issues and complaints so far. (Touch wood). Heat dissipate was felt near my thighs during slow traffic which i feel is normal, though the fan didnt kick in as the temperature was under 95c. Luckily the front brake levers are adjustable, Clutch lever wasnt, but didnt feel that very much, since the clucth was like the one in my CL500. No difference felt.

I did feel the pain in my wrist and palm after driving such short distance and he said, since you are used to driving cruiser type style, it was haunt you for a while. Yeah, we can get accustomed to these changes soon, after all we are all humans.

The power figures on the papers is nothing. Real time performance is what matters in the end, and it did perform to have me glued to it. I was like, i wont get down and started to whine like a KG kid being asked to get down from a merry-go-round (gone are those days, boys are back).

Its an attention magnet, no doubt. I felt like a celebrity for the 2nd time (first was with my P220), But this time, on an even bigger stage. Everything is cool on this bike. Clutch, gear box, throttle respone, power delivery, MUSIC...yeah man...MUSIC it was ...Yani on his peak whilst playing his piano. Frank Sinatra at his best....Hell, it was all musical notes to me ....

These were just my expression from a mere 5km ride. Wonder what all I am going to sing after my first 100 kms.

          Cheers....

I wanted to ask few questions before the TD, He said, go take it for a spin and we'll talk later. Once I came back, sat at the table with a cup of coffee and he asked me, Ok, What questions you have for me now...I was like...What are you talking about...I forgot them all

So should we consider this as the last nail in the coffin?

Good review about the test ride. But one very important thing, do not let your questions go away because of the TD experience. Many a times we get blown away so much by the TD that we skip on few important points. That's the thing dealers are banking on. Put aftermarket exhausts/remapped ECUs on the TD bikes, make the customer go gaga and ensure he's hooked. This happened with the Triumph striple remember? The arrows and fired-up ECUs did the trick in the TD and owners were in for a nasty surprise later.

So keep a cool head, calm those nerves, research more, ask a lot of questions to people actually living with the bike. Look beyond the excitement and then strike a deal.

Well these are just my 2 cents!

Yea just the same thing happened with me as well, had a lot of questions about the Bike and the engine but after the TD, I forgot them all and just left from there....

Well said bro...Infact I had taken a prinout of the questions which I wanted to ask. Most of them were answered during the TD itself which I ticked it off my imaginary list. I was just kidding about the questionarre...Such was my exitement. He was so kind to show me the new batch of vehicle and also explained me about the niggles/issues corrected.

Also, he said the IXIL are road legal and they do come with the DB killer, which produces a bit more sound than the stock ones. If the DB killer is removed, then Cops get your attention and the showroom guy doesnt recommend either. IXIL here in Chennai costs 47k..They will take care of the ECU mapping once the aftermarket exhaust is fit. This can be done after 1st service.

To my surprise, the Run-in period RPM is limited at 5-5.5k . Decent enough to cruise at 90kmph at 6th gear.

Hell yeah..thats the final nail in coffin..Its time to resurrect the long-lost dream of owning an Inline-4.

Congrats mate @TheArcher84! Your excitement is familiar to a few months younger me !

I took 3 rides. 1st was too exciting and couldn't see any blemish as I was too engrossed in the fun of going from a mere 17 horses to over a 100 in between my legs ! 2nd test ride was all about doing things that I wouldn't do in mine in normal driving. Sudden braking. launch from 2/3 rd gears, reduction of speed in top gear to find when knocking kicks in, following it up with a TD of the stock Striple (my other choice) etc etc. 3rd was done after I had booked and paid for the Roadbuster, just because i wanted to remember and differentiate between her and the TD bike.

A few advice from my end would be to

                  1. Hold on to the stock exhausts for the 1st couple of thousands. Why ? Because you would be in the run in half of that time and the machine was made to run on stocks so I would guess breaking in would be more comfortable for an entirely stock machine. Also, long distance riding with too much music is tiring beyond thought. IXIL can (pun intended) wait !

                  2. Follow the manual for the run in restrictions. You will find advices all over the world but follow the book, against you heart and ears.

                  3. Enjoy every moment and start shopping gears already and get the top notch ones else you will end up rebuying sooner rather than later !

No vibes at the start. Definite vibes between 5.5 - 6K rpm that causes slightly tingling sensation at the bottom of the feet if kept there for a few minutes. Everywhere else there is nothing. Also, I wouldn't bother much about a little vibe in the 1st in a 80 horse machine.

                  And call her species Zee

Now, you have inspired me to pay a visit to Benelli in Bangalore, this weekend maybe

I haven't noticed anything as such in 1st but there is slight vibe @ 6000rpm which is very negligible. At 6000rpm speed will be around 120kph on the Zed, do you really bother about vibes or concentrate on ride / road

I haven't had any vibes till date, it's smooth, may be some loose bolt or the headlight fairing might be the cause.

                          Prologue:
A burst of wind, a wring of throttle, a flash of red. The 600i blasts out with the IXIL exhaust roaring away at 6K RPM. The speedo indicates 160.
The road from Baner to Chandni chowk is deserted. 4.A.M , 2hrs till my friends from xBhp Pune show up. I have 2hrs to explore this bike after which it will be group ride to Lavasa to test out this monster. I stop at Chandni chowk wondering how the hell people thought this was lower in quality; Because I felt different. This is the second time I am test riding this and I am struggling to find out the Chinese connection. But nope, nothing out of place.

                          Ride dynamics & comfort:
The seats are comfortable both for the rider and pillion. Upright riding position, perfect levelled handlebars make it a pleasure to ride.
I really liked the way the tank is shaped as it allows the rider to grip the side with their thighs during high speeds.
The pillion seat is nice and comfy too for long hauls. With the stock under seat exhaust the pillion did not feel any heat radiation while gripping the grab rails but with the IXIL exhaust the grab rails were heated up considerably making it impossible to hold on to.

Me: (smiling) Baas khusiaan deti hai

                            Ride dynamics & comfort:
The seats are comfortable both for the rider and pillion. Upright riding position, perfect levelled handlebars make it a pleasure to ride.
I really liked the way the tank is shaped as it allows the rider to grip the side with their thighs during high speeds. The pillion seat is nice and comfy too for long hauls. With the stock under seat exhaust the pillion did not feel any heat radiation while gripping the grab rails but with the IXIL exhaust the grab rails were heated up considerably making it impossible to hold on to.

Haan Prince, it was a lot of fun. The speed runs on the bridge with the 600 were a total knockout [emoji3]
