I had the same options, ended up buying the SF with no regrets so far.
I do not know much about the 200AS but I have ridden the 200NS which is much more powerful compared to the SF since it is a 200cc.
I have done constant 90kmph at about 6500rpm on the SF with barely any vibes at all.
You ought to test ride both before u take a decision. They are worlds apart indeed.

Thanks guys, most of my friends advice me to get the sf, god it looks awesome, (no offence to AS200&#128512, but then again, this considerable increase in power, well is it worth it? Some of my friends said the AS is very "tall", has vibes and poor quality. And bajaj is brand being known for poor resale values. I personally like the sf but its power figures worry me 😅

I had a similar confusion between R15 V2 and cbr250r, 3 years back . Nut then went ahead and bought R15.
I was happy with my purchase except for 1 day when I got beaten by a CBR in a highway.

Take a proper test rides on both bikes. Observe the ownership threads and make a decision. And never regret on your choice afterall you can't get everything in 1 bike. It will be rare even if that happens.

            Hey Allen,

If you are looking for the best touring machine allow me to tell you that I just did a 5500 km long road trip on my 200 NS with NO issues at all. Its all in the mind. People say that the NS is heavy, is bouyed easily by winds etc etc but I did a top speed of 145 kmph, held that speed for quite a bit and did not feel tired. You gotta make up your mind first of all which is the styling you prefer. Do you prefer naked ? or semi faired ? or faired ?

If naked consider something like the Duke if you like the adrenaline rush with an outrageously wild hooligan under you and the NS if you prefer a more docile hooligan. The NS makes a more decent tourer compared to the Duke.

If its semi faired : AS 200 or the 220

If its fully faired : Consider the RS 200 / RC 200 or the SF. Neither of the three will let you down. Just that the SF will feel way underpowered with its 14 horses compared to the 24.5 and 25 that RS and RC churn out respectively.

I do not know how long can the SF hold 100ks but the NS, AS and the KTMs are able to doing it for long periods and with style.

So bro first decide your choice of styling and then go for some rides and make a choice.

Hi Allen, you have not mentioned what your requirements are. What you are looking for in your ride. If it is mostly city and very occasional medium range drives(100-200km) then I would suggest SF, since it will give a better mileage inside city(I get 50).

If its mostly highways and long rides, then it could be AS200. I have just completed a 1400km ride for the past 5 days, sometimes I feel that I could use some power/speed.

On the way back I could cruise comfortably on 100(since changing to FS oil). But when the CBRs whizz past me I could feel that lack of power. This speed is still enough for me at the moment. Maybe later I could go for a bigger/more powerful bike. Hopefully by next year there will be some new launches in the 250cc+ range.

Thank you so much guys. Thank you for the awesome response, I am mostly in for weekend long rides, city rides is rather less frequent as i live near the college. I was looking for a descent tourer which could put out some speed on the highway, looks doesnt matter much, the r15 looks fantastic but is a little old, the famliar look 😅, but the sf is very fresh, got to love that twin exhaust😊 . Doesn't have the money to buy an RC, then I thought why pay another 40k for an RS while the sf does the same thing if a little less better. Then comes the AS, I liked the NS bt the AS is not as mean looking 😟 (just my opinion) as the former. The only logical choice seems to be between the AS nd SF nd I ll let you know once I ve taken a test ride. After all money is the limiting factor. Thank you all for all the information. Any other bikes i need to consider? Like the odd dog zmr for instance 😅

Bro, no offence to the SF its a wonderful bike to ride for the city) but if you go in for the NS since you did love it (provided the company resumes production), pour in some Motul 7100 and let the horses loose on the highway you will absolutely fall in love with it. The NS is brilliant in letting all 24 horses loose on demand and in style bro. Just my two cents worth.

Why don't you consider Honda CBR 150R, which gives you power for highway ride and also some good mileage!!

Honda CBR is good for touring!!
