(I am just in love with this bike !!)

And if it looks anything less than how lovely it looks in pictures then Gixxer SF it is..
IMO Gixxer and Gixxer SF both look better than Hornet 160R .. Hornet looks just like another Unicorn variant..neither proper commuter looks nor street fighter looks.. but anyways.. this is my opinion and personal liking.. you might prefer other one..

I don't think it is currently available to buy.
I didn't say it 'is' a better machine, I said it should be a better machine which means when it is launched I expect it to be a better machine...after launch it should perform well and be a hit like Gixxer.

You said it is better to judge a bike after launch, I am also saying the samething.

"But we can know more about a bike from its 'Ownership and Experience' thread, waiting for one such thread for Honda Hornet 160"..... which means I am waiting for the bike's launch, I am waiting for some people to buy it and create a Ownership thread for Hornet 160 and waiting for the owners to post about the bike in it and to know about the bike.

      Hope you get my point.

My opinion is also the same as yours about looks of the bike, many say Hornet is looking better than Gixxer but no Gixxer is better for me...but previously I was talking about the performance of the bike, expecting it to be as good as Gixxer.

I guess folks here can help me with that. Talking about Engine kill switch, are you sure they are not giving that ? cause then it will be a huge disappointment. I hope they also bump up the power and torque figures a bit as said in many articles i have read. (Also i just keep on swooning over its pictures and as per the saying i have formed "Bikes look better in flesh then in pictures" so i am just waiting how good it would look when launched)

I guess the whole conversation here is going OT. [emoji14]
But then we are still doing a comparo with the Gixxer SF here, aint we?

          +1

Even i could not see any tilted fairing in pictures. You could use paint and highlight the tilted part and put both sides fairing side by side. Then it can actually show the differences.
Its confirmed it doesn't have an Enigine Kill Switch. Spare parts problem come even with a minor fall.( yesterday a Discover guy collided with my Dio)
Mirror 300rs, Indicator(don't remember exactly), the Fibre fairing costs about 1700rs.(Cost incurred for Honda Dio)+Fitting charges 500rs.
This cost is too high for a student.

                Hi guys,

I am following this thread for long time and I own gixxer naked. My friend owns gixxer sf we both bought on same date he has done 4.5k in odo.

Let me come to the point straight. It is raining heavily in Chennai for last one week but we made sure that our bikes never goes into water more than silencer level

Two days ago he had some problem with with clutch. Even if gear engaged clutch released bike was not moving, after full acceleration it was going up to 15km that's all not more than that.

Concerned with the bike we left it in OMS Suzuki near madipakkam they said bike should be in examination you won't get it for 5 days with no other choice we left it.

Today I got call from service saying that clutch plates need to be replaced but highlight is that it won't be covered in warranty. I am surprised how come bike barely 3 months old and only 4.5k odo clutch plates is worn out. My friend owns unicorn 2006 model which is still running with minor changes like spark plug and regular service. So this suffice that he is not rash rider.

Service center is blaming it on us that we drove it rash that's why clutch plates has worn out. Even we said we will shoot mail to Suzuki, service center has no issue in that.

Please help me guys, I am the one who forced him to go for Suzuki gixxer sf or gixxer instead of Yamaha fz v2.0 or fazer. So now I am in a bad situation.

And I personally don't want to raise complaint on this service center. They are the only one doing good service in my area, I don't want strain my relationship with them.

                Thanks in advance

Hope you could use the link as it a very detailed spec sheet. On the outset, its a Unicorn 160 which would be tuned to give a little bit more power and torque. But i dont expect the power figures to go above 15 Hp.

That is there. I agree. But sometimes it so happens that you just fall in love. Its like me telling you that you should change your GF. Shes a bit expensive to maintain. Hope you get the analogy. :P

I dont think you can do anything more than shooting a mail to the Suzuki. And btw having threatened them about shooting a mail to Suzuki you have already strained your relationship with them a bit.

The dilemma, now is, you need to decide whether you want to ruin your relationship with the ASC (even then theres no surety that Suzuki would acknowledge your claims) or maintain your relationship with them and pay for the clutch plate charges.

Well thats my opinion. Let others talk about it.

Yes you are right about straining the relationship, but when I spoke with showroom manager he was cool about shooting email to Suzuki. He said Sir we tried from our side with Suzuki now it's your turn to try your luck with Suzuki.

                    And sorry the English [emoji17]

Even I asked them to replace a part but they did not change it. When taking the service book they said all parts are covered by them for 2 years.

i had a problem with self start .. after washing it doesnt work . So i took it to dwarka suzuki .. where they replaced clutch wire and quoted me 40Rs bill ... doesn't it come under 2 year warranty ? . Also today i checked oil cap ( where we put engine oil ) there is slight whitish layer on that with some little water bubbles . Is it matter to concern ?

So I just started up the bike today and a few meters down the road some part of the bike, near the right side foot peg, got stuck in my shoe lace and while I tried to free my foot, a little pin came off the bike. I don't know where exactly the pin like thing is from or what it does. Any help? images attachedClick image for larger version
