There's a garage called Vinayak Motors or something in Marathahalli, I usually go there to service my bike. The guy is good and he can maybe help you out.

Hi Everyone ,

I own a gixxer sf 2017 model , which has not been ridden too much as I am still in my 17k kms .
I faced a lot of issues with it .
The major thing which I am facing now is , the punch/push whatever you say , I get while riding above 80kmph .
These punches are really disturbing and I am not able to figure out the actual problem .

Since then I have had 3 bike services , but till now this has not gone .
Also , I have left taking my bike to more than 60-70 kmph now .
I am kind of fed up with this bike now , as I am never getting an economical mileage .(Always between 30 -35kmpl)
Also , the throttle response now has become too much bad as after giving the throttle also I am not getting enough power from the bike .

Please , suggest me what to do .
I stay in bangalore , and please if some one knows a good mechanic from Bangalore please suggest me .

Ask your mechanic or the svc technician to clean the fuel lines and carburetor/injector and replace the spark plug.

Hi Guys.... I'm having Gixxer SF April'15 model (Rear disc only, non ABS), Have done 23K+, in 4 years in regular city traffic and occasional Highway Ride, till now i have Stock MRF tyres, with good experience.
Recently I'm noticing the bike's front tyre skids under sudden and sometimes even under normal braking even at 30-40kmph speed in dry roads. There are cracks visible on face and side walls also, but the thread is still deep.. There is no punchure in front and 4 in rear.. should i change tyres.??
If yes should i change both the tyre or only front..? which tyre should i go for regular city rides and occasional highways.. Should i upsize the rear tyre.? (pls share your experience if you have done upsizing).

I own a gixxer naked 2015 model and have some questions if you guys could help .

1. Can we use any other break shoes in the rear breaks rather than the stock one ?

2. Is there any effective way to make the gear butter smooth ?

I have tried using Motul oil to reduce the hardness but still my legs hurt pretty much after a longer run and sometimes on a shorter run as well . Hope you guys can help .

4 years. That's enough period for this tyres.in this time the rubber become harder that's why there's some cracks .you should change both tyres. I suggest change the rear tyre at least for your safety.

Is there a way to stiffen up the front suspension of Gixxer? I know it's not possible with the stock setup so can anyone suggest any mod which can be used to make the front suspension a little more stiff as it is a bit to soft, even for light offroad riding.

Hi Fellow XBhpians. Yesterday bought Gixxer SF Fi SP Abs (Orange on Black) used (7900 kms approx) Dec 2017 model.
Was in dilemma between 200 RS, FZ 25, Gixxer SF and Apache 160. Finally chose this one as it was total fun and the looks.

I'm new to Fi and have this question:
When the bike is standstill and engine is not running, the low fuel indicator is on (even after running the bike for 30 kms).
Also, if the bike is on low fuel, the fuel indicator light should blink even when the bike is running right?

As you can see from the image, the fuel level is above half tank (as I filled it yesterday) and still the light is on.

Please help!!!

If you are referring to the yellow light, then thats the Check Engine Light. Take your bike to a service center and let them check it.

You use thicker grade such as 20w, that will make the suspension stiffer and less dive prone. I am not sure what stock fork oil grade the Gixxer uses. But 20w works like a charm.

Indeed. That's not a low fuel light. The Gixxer doesn't have a dedicated light to show low fuel, all you have to trust is the fuel gauge. The light that you see there is the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT or ENGINE MALFUNCTION LIGHT. It can mean many things, the best is to take it to your nearest SVC. I'd also strongly recommend you to read your owners manual for basic lights and what they mean. It helps you know more about your bike.

Did you get a chance to check with service center? From what i understand it will lit up until you switch on the engine , if check engine light is on after you start the engine then its an issue. Please let us know if its otherwise

DIY Post

hello guys so as you people i mean the SF owners are already aware how long the Rear View mirrors are and how discomfort it is to ride it in city traffic with the two mirrors opened wide. As per me i used to close the mirrors sometimes during filtering when the traffic used to be high which eased the maneuverability. But daily closing-opening made the mirrors loose and it used to go wide automatically while riding and i was not able to see properly what was at my back. So, I used to periodically tightened the bolt and it used to work for few thousand kms but the mirrors became loose again.

Today when i tightened it again the mirrors got loose while i opened it instantly. So, upon further opening the mirrors there are total 4 washers and one of the washers got deep grooves(Pic 2) on it which was causing the mirrors to come loose. So, I got to my nearby automobile spare shop and got myself two new washers costed me Rs 2 only and the cleaned the rust off the remaining washers and mirror clamp with scrotch bite and wd40 and fixed the mirrors again to my bike and its now fixed.

So whenever the mirrors come loose just tighten it and replace those washers whenever necessary.

Here are the things you need to fix your SF Rear View Mirrors.

* 5mm Allen key

* 13mm socket

* 2 new same size washers

* scrotch bite

* WD 40 (optional)

When the engine is off and ignition switch is on, this engine bulb appears on the OSD. This bulb comes on below scenarios.

1. Engine off but ready to switch on
2. ABS Malfunction (Check ABS Control unit, ABS Fuse, RPM Sensor disconnected/broken)
3. Engine Malfunction (Fuel pump main control unit located under the seat)

You mention about low fuel indicator, check manual for how to recognize low fuel indicator on OSD. There are 2 stages of display. When the fuel is low to 2-3L and below 2L
