Now, you guys would make anyone jealous.... the only other 150 cc bike I heard of giving such mileage was the Apache 150 .

Jayanth, it is not just about how fast you go but how much you revv and brake is an important factor in determining fuel efficiency. Also, for example, doing a 40 KMPH in 3rd gear doesn't help either!

Let the engine free up a bit. New engines can have such tendencies and hence the run in time is important. Did anyone else notice this issue?

What will you choose? For me, HIDs is always the answer if you can afford it and the bike can take it (in GS150R case, bike's capable).
HID's are too bright for the on-coming traffic. Also, if you think you are trying to be safe by going for HID's without a projector, think again.
    1) If you blind the opposite vehicle, there is a good chance that he cannot see the road and come straight on to you
    2) An opposite vehicle with a strong light blinds your eyes for sure - how much ever strong lighting your vehicle has.

That is the reason why such bright lights as HID's are legal only when in a projector setup... a projector setup focuses the bean in the required place without letting it scatter all over.

Especially, HID's are dangerous in multi reflector assembly's - like most of our newer vehicles come with.

Any reflector would fade with time... that would depend on for how much heat it is designed and how good the quality of reflector is... If you run on stock may be you can run for say 200 hours of night driving and if you run with a higher Kelvin lighting it might come down to 100 hours of night driving.

      • ^^^ just picked a number... and yes, that seemed reasonable... I can see that my Victor's reflector is not as new now... I would not have done even 100 hrs of night driving on it.. 100 hours seems to be a high number.

60+ very impressive infact too good, you must be driving very evenly, before first service when I was not crossing 60km/h the second avg got was 67km/l!! I was blown. Any way I knew I was driving tooooo evenly to be too happy. After my first service till now (completed 1500km) have driven in all ways.......normal driving way, aggressive and too aggresive as well just letting the full fuel flow and with all the result I can very safly say I did not get an avg below 52-54km/l...... with normal driving I easily get aroung 55-56 which is very very impressive for a 150 CC bike..

          • Anything above 50 is a bonus for a 150cc bike IMO.

            • So the most fuel efficient 150 cc is the GS150R..

Should make a great tourer + commuter..

My ODO reading is 1500 now, BTW latest update:::: Touched the bike at a speed of 106 for couple of seconds.....10-15 may be and as I expected and for people's knowldge as well, the bike seems to give NO difference in any department at this speed as well......... its smooth , refined in control and no vibrations what so ever......in short same as the bike is at 85.......any questions???

                    • Hi... my odo is around 1184km... i touched 90kmph... this bike has lot of capacity to go beyond... i faced only a little problem... engine temperature is rising like hell... and its sound is changing after getting heated... after riding 20kms continuously i can hear different idling sound like daka daka daka... but in next morning its very smooth... as i am new to bikes (one month) dunno whether its normal or not... can anyone reply please...

                      • yep that is the max I did.......but now that I have crossed 1500 mark I can cross that 8000 rpm mark as well(thats what the manual said) so I will try to push the bike even more, I dont have enough long deserted road for that....that is the problem leme see if I can take the G.Noida Express highway to test this....

Engine sounds definately changes when you drive fast, as it heats up and I dont know why you think its a problem, engine sound should change when you slowly n slown increate speed and reach a high speed, the only thing is that the sound should be even and smooth and actually sound more refined at high speeds which is exactly what happenes with GS and that speaks for its engine excellence.......

                          • No one mentioned how the bike is in sound department (??). The silencer looks promising

Thanks... i thought because i read some valve clutter and knocking problem from bike advice... though i didnt believe that but still... and yes during high speeds 80-90kmph bike is super silent and zero vibrations other than road disturbances...

                              • Ok Guys another update....since I crossed 1500 Km on ODO as per the manual I now can cross the 7500RPM mark, so today I tested again the top speed and it gives me pleasure and honor to report that the bike touched easily 111 Km/h without giving a hitch.....I could have gone further but my crossing came and I had to turn.....

But all you guys here tell me one thing.....whats the top speed of Pulsar/Apachie RTR Fi and FZ 16 I am really curious to know (Actual tested speed), coz 111 believe it or not is Fuc*kn blazing speed for a bike, I was at this speed for like 3,4 seconds and I felt like I am on Rajdhani , who drives a bike at that speed man???? I wont..... The road side pillers were passing as if I was on Street Hawk....lol...... but the bike was running without dropping a sweat......I cant imagin what 120 would be, and I feel it would reach that speed.........but again I am seriously curious to know if any of RTR/Pulsar or FZ actually reaches that speed and what is the engine condition.......
