Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
Agree with you experimentalhead about the D390. It's an absolute hooligan of a bike. Benelli to me feels more premium.Originally posted by experimentalhead View PostI completely agree. I too considered Duke. But, somehow it did not appeal to me even before I came across Benelli. Nonetheless, there is no arguing that Duke is any lesser of a bike. But many who have not seen Benelli, just dismiss the Italian by comparing it to Duke purely on basis of pricing when fact is Benelli comes with a far better fit and finish and offers a twin mill.

Wow! Awesome!Originally posted by TheArcher84 View PostAh.. a small correction though...I am going to book..This Thursday
I have never ridden any 600. I sat on the TNT 600 and it felt intimidating to me. When the sales guy switched on the machine and revved the inline 4 I got scared and got off immediately

Initially I was in the market for a family bike like a splendor. Then I thought let me check out Yamaha fz as it was more appealing and most of my friends said that it trouble free go for it. Went to a showroom nearby home and like how it looks and the presence and was sold. Told the sales manager that I will come on Thursday and pay the booking amount. I was there at showroom and the manager was attending few prospective buyers. Meanwhile I was checking Google and found the Benelli announcement. I was like wow this looks awesome, but my budget did not allow me to go ahead.
A friends brother who is a hardcore biker said that I should check it out once and he himself has 390. I thought let me check once and was on xbhp checking for some reviews, none found. Meanwhile changed my mind left the showroom telling the manger that I had some urgent work.
Few days passed trying to put across my idea of a mid range sports bike, like any other middle class family I was shooed away.
There was this auto show in Bangalore and Benelli had showcased its masterpieces and I was bowled over by its shear presence. That's when I decided that this is it. Now convincing is a tough job I will do it. It will take time but will do it, I am able to convince everyone at work and why not at home?
Came back home and showed the brochure at home. As usual negative saying why a bike and that too this expensive. You are a family guy go ahead upgrade your car.
Meanwhile i was also looking to upgrade my car to XUV 5OO. My dream car and dream suv. Heard there was new version coming up and went with wife and kid to book it, however was not happy in the financial front and also the way the sales manger spoke to us. That was the nail that hit hard, came back home discussed with wife that I am going for the bike and it's going to be Benelli 300. As usual all financial were discussed and it was kind of yes from mom and also wife. Meanwhile applied bike loan through hdfc. Loan was approved in a day and was ready for disbursement as I have good standing with them.
Meanwhile I was talking to Raghu @Rolling and he told me that the price may increase and on this day I told my wife that I am going the next day to book for this bike. She was like you have not test driven and you want to book I said yes! My am going by my heart this time no matter what.
She said she will come, called Manjunath from the showroom and fixed an appointment. Went next day asked for a test ride because of wife, made her sit during the ride and she was comfortable. My son was like daddy you are buying this superbike I said yes. That's it! Paid the booking amount got the angel in like 4 days.

Let me tell you, I'm not a racer but yes need a bike which is powerful and can deliver when needed, this angel meets my demand and my need

@ironmarine The best part of your storyline is when your son said that "Daddy you are buying this superbike", wish you many happy safe miles on your steed. Its an amazing superbike with touring capabilities.
With respect to the 1 lakh premium, I exactly know where that 1 lakh was spent:
a. Rear Shock with preload and rebound adjustment = +1
b. Twin petal front and single petal disc at the rear = +1
c. Plush seat = +1
d. Better fit and finish = +1
e. Inline Twin cylinder = +1
Have received a feedback call from Benelli Customer First, a Roadside Assistance card was sent by post and a letter congratulating me for purchasing the superbike was sent by post including a LED torch with Benelli branding as a memento. All of this and the amazing and knowledgable salesperson in Benelli Mumbai showroom, represents the kind of service only offered by Honda Siel-- I own a Honda car and Benelli is matching the standards offered by Honda. Lets see how the service experience goes. I already am smitten by the experience so far.Last edited by Ballistic; 06-15-2015, 01:23 AM.

Completely agree with you. Initially when you look at bike as 300cc and 3.5Lakh on road, you do doubt whether it's VFM. But, when you check the kind of equipment on offer, you realize that it's worth every pennyOriginally posted by Ballistic View Post@ironmarine The best part of your storyline is when your son said that "Daddy you are buying this superbike", wish you many happy safe miles on your steed. Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
I am in the plan of buying a good powerful bike. I like the Duke power to weight and value for money ratio, yet my wife is reluctant and asked me where will I sit
. We checked TB500 again I have a 1964 Diesel bullet. What I understood is when we go up the ladder in terms of CC , pillion seat is sacrificed. This made me to wait endlessly. On a casual browse over the forum and few encouraging reviews this made me hooked and keep on reading reviews. What I understood is this bike is not Benelli but Keeway 300 (Chinese). This made me worried on how strong the engine internals and reliability. There is no evidence the engine use Nikasil or Diasil coated sleeves. Positive points of 32+ years like me is the seats and comfortable riding position, good relaxed engine

Benelli as a motorcycle firm has changed quite a few hands and had a journey of ups and downs.
When you look at the bike in flesh you do not see any compromise with fit and finish. I have ridden the bike close to 2700 km in 6 weeks, and tehre are no issues.
When it comes to pain quality, check few forum and you will come across some top brands of cars having paint quality issues which were rectified later after customer complaints.
Yes, chinese giants have ownned Benelli now. But I got to learn that Benelli's Italian counterparts and chinese are ensuring that every little aspect is giverned w.r.t quality and I get a feeling with my experience that DSK are quite serious and have learned well from their Hyosung story.
I do not know whether they continue in the same path in future. I hope they do. I am as curious as anyone else while I enjoy my rides with the Italian.

vijaycool, I second experimentalhead comments about the bike being Chinese and what the future is about it. The premium that we are paying is for being exclusive and after sales service or before sales service is on par that you get with most of best companies around.Originally posted by vijaycool View PostI am in the plan of buying a good powerful bike. Even today when I have any questions I call my sales rep and he is so patient enough to explain me on the phone. Not only that but also he ensures that I understood and checks if I have any more questions about the angel.
Designed in california and manufactured in China is that iPhone is, have any one stopped thinking about owning one. I have bought every model of theirs right from 3 to 5s planning to upgrade later to new model.
The bike is good, my wife is not habituated to siting on bike. She is just opposite of me, does not like wind on her face and she was like how am I going to climb the mountain. Showed her some videos and also made her try it out. She is still getting used it, however, a very comfortable seating compared to most of its bikes in its segment. Just to add I am 37 going to be 38.

Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
The question is not related to Chinese Origin. What I heard about keeway 600 & 300 is the engine design is ditto copy of Yamaha R6 2004 which is good. 300 is replaced with 2 cylinder with same bore/stroke configuration. I could not get much info about the pistons (Forged or cast) , Cylinder (Steel, nikasil, diasil). This will decide the longevity of the engine. I am very much interested in this bike though the price is pretty steep. I can understand the price is due to dual throttle bodies, dual injectors, dual oxygen sensors, dual front discs. If the bottom end and piston is strong , dual throttle body setup will take to insane levels of power if tuned properly. I like the design its niche and no way going to be crowded like the Duke series. I would be happy if the prices are kept down by 30K , it would have hit sweet spot.Originally posted by experimentalhead View PostI guess chinese made is a misconception. Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
Yeah...I have seen that too..Sorry for this question, but is there a braking component by the name Benelli. Or is it Benelli imprinted on some brake caliper or brake pads, I guess 899 and 1130 has Brembo. Just wanted to know what braking components are used for 300 and 600. Like you said, I just Benelli on it. Not sure on the component name used.Originally posted by experimentalhead View PostIf you check brakes, Benelli is written on them.
