Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
Not sure buddy. But I guess all service centers have been providing upgraded horns as far as I know. Ever since replacement, I have not faced this issue.Originally posted by arpanjha View PostThanks for your reply. Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
You need to route your horn through a relay.that will sort out the issueOriginally posted by arpanjha View PostHi, Guys, I recently became a proud owner of a pre-owned Benelli TNT 300. Got it at a decent price, condition is good too (2017 Feb, driven only 4800km) 3 services done. You can see from the picture attached.
I was looking for some answers which I havent found anywhere.
1. As pointed out earlier by other members too, my bike's horn stops working once the engine temperature reaches around 85+ and occasionally works, maybe 10% times of the tries. In the evening with headlight on, I find it surprising that if I switch off the main headlights, the horn resumes working, although havent tried doing it over a long period as riding without headlight didnt seem too safe. Is there a permanent solution to this? Like changing of the horn or wiring or switch? If yes, can anyone share with me the model no. of the spare which might be suitable?
2. The fuel meter doesnt seem to be dependable at all. Many a times it blinks to show low fuel, but even after filling to the brim, the meter still shows half filled. Is there any calibration of the meter? Is there anyone who has faced similar issue?
3. The headlights are weak, the high beam is absolutely useless. Any suggestion for replacement? Without affecting the battery.
Looking forward to many happy miles, the machine is just amazing... superb stability, superb pull. Just amazing as a begginers big bike. One man's black magic is another man's Engineering

Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
Thank you for the help. I took my TNT to the newly opened Service centre in Kolkata. They did not have the Horn in stock, but advised me to go for a local Horn but the Current rating must be below 2 Amps. It was not easy to find such a horn, as most of the Horns available are above 2 Amps, or 2.5 Amps. Ultimately managed to get a small horn suitable for Gearless scooters of small engine capacity, Chinese make, 1.5Amps. It works well as of now at higher temperatures without any issues, just it is a little less powerful, but it works for me.Originally posted by cruizer13 View PostYou need to route your horn through a relay.that will sort out the issue

Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
All the more reason to route it thru a relay which acts as a capacitor so u can use a more powerful horn!! I have a double skoda horn set fitted on my bike.Originally posted by arpanjha View PostThank you for the help. I took my TNT to the newly opened Service centre in Kolkata. Oh great. Thanks for that. Any help for the headlight? I tried browsing through the thread, but got confused. Can you help me which bulb is suitable? The stock headlight is not good at all. The high beam has a very bad spread, low beam just isn't powerful enough.Originally posted by cruizer13 View PostAll the more reason to route it thru a relay which acts as a capacitor so u can use a more powerful horn!! Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
Sorry Can't really help you there. I replaced my halogen with an LED lamp where overall light is brighter but not much difference between high and low beam. So put a couple of aux lights as well. It has made a lot of difference over the stock setup. Do not go for HID lamp kit though. It pulls a shitload of current for which your wiring harness is probably not designed for. Try fitting an led lamp and see if that helps. If not you will only lose a few hundred rupees.Originally posted by arpanjha View PostOh great. Thanks for that. Any help for the headlight? The best, safest and easiest upgrade will be to switch to a set of higher illumination bulbs from the Phillips Xtreme Vision Plus or the Osram Night Breaker ranges.Originally posted by arpanjha View PostOh great. These are standard 12v/55w bulbs just like the stock ones, and are a direct replacement. No wiring changes, no relays required and no warranty issues whatsoever.
I'm currently using the Phillips Xtreme Vision Plus 130% (link below) for my 300 currently, and had been using these very happily on all my 2 wheelers and 4 wheelers since last 7-8 years. They have more than double the luminance of ordinary stock bulbs.
BTW, I recently also installed a 18w auxiliary Bosch flood lamp with a Philips relay and parallel wiring harness, which is giving me super excellent illumination in short range

Are you getting any offers right now from the showroom?
I remember that they mentioned there will be no free services and that it costs around 5k per service. Has this changed?
