Hi,Originally posted by sounakray View PostHello folks!
After a lot of deliberation, I finally took the plunge and booked the new TnT 300 in green colour.
Congratulations!
Good to see the post on new purchase, off lately such posts were hard to find
Thank you!Originally posted by sounakray View PostAbhijit's beautifully detailed and honest ownership review on Moto Hive helped me finalize both my choice of the bike and it's colour!

I'm having HDFC ERGO, good experience so far. There is a Whatsapp group for benelli riders in Pune. Check in FB.Originally posted by sounakray View Post- Based on your experience, which insurance provider is best to go ahead with, in terms of ease, speed and success rate of claim settlements? I'm leaning towards New India Assurance, but the dealership is recommending Oriental (which has a lot of negative reviews in general). Also, I'm planning to get it done online myself, because the premium quoted by the dealership is ridiculously more expensive (₹6-7k dearer).
If you know the person very well who is doing the coating then go with coating. But then it won't last & it will be repetitive. In case of PPF it's permanent as long as you need to remove it due to dents or accident. Yes it turns yellow, but that will be visible in case of vehicles with white color. My car is blue & motorcycle is green & the yellowish tint don't cause any problem. Also you get never fading gloss finishOriginally posted by sounakray View Post- Which protection is better - ceramic coating or paint protection film?
I'm leaning towards 3M's PPF because it provides far better physical protection from scratches by keys, rings, belt buckles etc than ceramic coating would. However, PPF tend to turn slightly yellowish with time.
. As mentioned by Binil, he as well few other guys are using PPF & it's really helpful.
As mentioned by Binil, all dealers charge, You can stand against it & see if they remove it, also reach out to Mahavir guys they should be able to help you out.Originally posted by sounakray View Post- What has your experience been with the so called "logistics and handling charges" that the dealerships apply? A B Automotive, Pune, is charging ~₹8-9k. As per recent court orders, RTOs have become very strict about these illegal charges that the dealerships apply. Did you guys have to pay this? If not, how did you avoid?
Hi Sam,Originally posted by samhassan View PostHello guys, can some one suggest me where to get oil filters for Benelli 300?? Actually the SVC guys using an oil filter(Purolator-PI 457600)which is used for nissan micra car!!! Is it normal or iam being scammed?????
Since other are using it then you can follow, but make sure on the bill of the service the part mentioned should be this filter as it's not OEM. Also report it to Benelli & Mahavir group as in case of warranty they won't take the justification for not using the OEM filter. In case of part shortages Benelli should add this part as substitute to OEM part not the SVC.
Considering the volatility of the service, if possible try to stock certain parts for next 2 services (considering replacement). I used to stock, air filter, oil filter, spark plugs, chain & sprocket and brake pads (EBC option is also available).Last edited by abhijitkn; 01-16-2019, 12:04 AM.

Warranty claims can be costly affairs if turned down and in case of Benelli's there have been many instances.
DSK's DMS is gone that is true but you should have the service history records with you.

Sir i have the full history of service and have the bills. But the new mahavir service center is blank about my bike and don't have history about any bikes of DSK.Originally posted by abhijitkn View PostHi,

Advice to new buyers. - Service centers and showrooms are bleeding without any revenue. DSK simply diched benelli. Mahavir trying hard to bring it up. New buyers for two cylinders check from kawasaki. I accept they are rude but they don't ditch you.Last edited by visco; 01-16-2019, 12:13 AM.

I wouldn't say Benelli ditched here. They stuck to staying in India, of course, due to good sales, and looked for new partners to start again. Worst case scenario would have been them exiting India. Then what? Kawasaki Bajaj split was a planned one and the transition took lesser time. Hence records and updates were also transferred to the new setup. As far as customers running around like headless chickens, it happened with Kawasaki too, here in Bangalore, for a few months into transition. For Benelli, DSK turned out to be a sour thumb. Inside info is that DSK did not make payments to the Dealer Management Software guys and the data was not shared by them due to non-payments. For Mahavir, it was a better choice to go with new software and start from scratch.Originally posted by visco View PostSir i have the full history of service and have the bills. Bangalore Vinayak Motors - as they were already with DSK, did not have any concerns as far as records went. Moreover, most of us retain the service records. So, as long as we have the paperwork and proof, Mahavir will not deny us support. In fact, I have found them a little more flexible when it comes to tricky situations where there were delays in service due to service centre switch over.

What Binil is saying is 100% true. Benelli didnt ditch its most promising market. It was due to DSKs financial mismanagement, and I guess it might be true they didnt pay the DMS dues. My elder son was studying in the third year in DSK International Design school for animation in Pune, when the whole DSK episode started. What was once the 4th leading animation college in the World took a nosedive in a matter of months. The foreign faculty were not paid for months and all of them except one left. My son was in the hostel ( compulsory to stay there), the canteen contractor shut shop, so the hostelites had to have food from a Dhaba for a month even though the food charges are already paid upfront for a month, the cleaning staff left, leaving the hostel and college in a complete disrepair. Since the 4th and 5th year were optional he left after the third year. I have written off the caution deposit of 25k which was due to me, their mail ids are bouncing off, the mails which are going through no one is reverting back. The french university Superinfocom withdrew from the college. There is a high school in Pune with 3000 students which was run by DSK was in the verge of shutting down, just imagine the plight of the students and parents ! !
I have always held the view Benelli will not ditch India. Yes their models are a little long in the years, so now they are coming up with new ones. Yes they are also a little behind technology ( the display system, no slipper clutch, no traction control), but hopefully these will come in the new models. When I bought my bike ( used 600i , 3 months old then), my flatmates and other bikers said it s the biggest mistake. But the bike has been a gem till now, the service people in Kochi being outstanding.

Don't know anyone who has done this in India. I doubt the swing arm is wide enough.

Hi Nathan,Originally posted by nathan_ooi View Posthi guys any idea whether TNT600's rear rim will fit our bike?
You can go for 600 GT rear wheel spec Pirelli Angel GT 180/55-ZR17 which is a straight fit in case you want a broader one. No issue for swingarm as well and stock rims as well.
Cons: Greater rolling resistance, less average and pick up. Also much strain on the drive chain.
BTW, great to be back after a long time. brokenbinil : Hope you remember me
