Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
Today saw a 300 white near Adyar signal and followed all the way till Foreshore Estate signal, the sound was not there even though the driver was driving fast with a pillion. Sadly a RE also was riding along for sometime and was not able to hear it properly. Spoke with them near Chettinad School asked him to rev his machine but I think he didn't understand what i was saying through my helmet. The bike looked awesome though.
Sadly he was not wearing a helmet.

(4th service and 8th service cost 8.5k)What would be the cost for extended warranty ?Originally posted by umang75 View PostAgreed, but People who are comfortable with the idea can at least opt for the extended warranty.
It would be a good idea to go through the clauses and terms and conditions that apply.
If it requires me to go to svc every 4000kms ... i'd say go to hell !!!

I heard that from now on its 4 year standard warranty. Not sure how reliable the source is. If its true, I pity the owners.Originally posted by brokenbinil View PostWhat would be the cost for extended warranty ?

Also DSK should definitely increase the service interval...
And 3rd year extended warranty costs about 2.5k...Its better to sweat than to bleed...

Hello,Originally posted by bhadoriabtp View Posti want to purchase this bike but i am little confused. some owners have complaints such as oil leakage, fuel tank problem, etc as i am a lay man having not technical knowlege. i have gone through this thread but due to lack of technical knowledge i am unable to understand problems. some owners say service charges are very high. please guide me should i go this bike or try some other bike. BMW 310 is not expected in near future.pl.guide me.
This is a solid bike except for availability of spares, which as said by Benelli showroom guys in Chennai they are starting to stock them. If you want the BMW you have to wait for a year minimum. They have started production at the Hosur plant but they are yet to get approvals. Apparently there is going to be four platforms. from 250 to 500 cc range. And also it is going to be TVS logo + a BMW roundel somewhere.

Every bike has its own set of problems.Originally posted by bhadoriabtp View Posti want to purchase this bike but i am little confused. some owners have complaints such as oil leakage, fuel tank problem, etc as i am a lay man having not technical knowlege. i have gone through this thread but due to lack of technical knowledge i am unable to understand problems. some owners say service charges are very high. please guide me should i go this bike or try some other bike. If we get into a Triumph thread, we would obviously see owners complaining about it. Same goes to Kawasaki, Hyosung, HD and other brands...
Benelli is new to the market and spares are scarce. There is nothing we can do about it... But one thing you can take my word is that they have improved a lot...
With regards to your post above, yes within a month and a half, my rear suspension went kaput. It costs around 17k but was replaced under-warranty. Fuel leaks if tank is filled to brim, gear shaft seal was broken in just 3 months, coolant also started to pour out within 3 months. The service interval is short and service cost is high.
These are things every owner is supposed to deal with... The 300 is a beautiful bike... It sounds amazing, it moves amazing and it is overall a good bike.
Please make sure you go through this thread from start and see if this is what you are looking for...
Do post questions if any... We have loads of owners who are more than happy to share their views.
Best Regards

Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
Hi
I am Gaurav from Pune & I am looking for 250 to 300 cc bike. Currently I own CBZ Xtreme. I ahve shortlisted following bikes.
1) Benelli 300
2) Mahindra Mojo
3) Kawasaki Ninja
Which among these should I prefer ? I have heard that Mojo is extremely good bike with smooth & refined engine, quality parts.

Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
That must have been just for the first service which is labour free.Originally posted by umang75 View PostIn Kolkata they charged me 2,773/-
For the rest it costs 2600 for oil + 1000 for consumables + 1900 for labour + tax.
4th and 8th service include the above + oil filter and air filter and spark plug. Its better to sweat than to bleed...

Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
Sorry guys to have barraged in the thread, it is just that my excitement got the better of me. I am in for a new bike 300cc + and as usaual like everyone came down to Duke 390/ TNT 300/ R3 and I test drove Duke in Adyar showroom it is a good bike, I like the sound of the single cylinder too. Then I went to the Benelli showroom for a TR but there was no bikes available, still not available after 15 days. As a matter of fact they didn't even have a display bike. They were using a customers bike as a display bike with IXIL exhaust (The story behind it was someone sold the bike to them and made a down payment for 600 and the same bike was brought by someone else and since he was out of station he had left the bike in the showroom for it to stay safe according to Mr.Hari, have any of you on the thread brought it?). Even called yesterday about the test drive but Mr.Hari said there is no bike available and only by the end of the week shall the bike be available. Hopefully one is available at the end of the week. The bike looks solid and was not able to hear the exhaust note from yesterdays spot or at the showroom. So I guess I have to wait.
What I have gathered from the thread is that this bike will hurt the pocket at least till the warranty is there and be ready to shell out another 50-60 only
I am attaching the price break up if anyone is interested for the EMI's and all.

Hey this is way costly to maintain for a 300, I changed the chain sprocket, sprocket bearing, clutch wire, oil, spark plug, air filter, coneset at 22000kms for 6500rs for my D200

Hey why are't you considering the D390 or the rc390, if you had the TNT300 and the KN300 then i would have understood that you are looking for a twinOriginally posted by gauravd1985 View PostHi

You must give the D390 a tryNo replacement for an engine Displacement

Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
That again depends on the spares, where do they come from. I assume Dukes have spares available in India, where as still for Benelli, its being shipped from the China factory.Originally posted by Suraj200 View PostHey this is way costly to maintain for a 300, I changed the chain sprocket, sprocket bearing, clutch wire, oil, spark plug, air filter, coneset at 22000kms for 6500rs for my D200
So, cant complain outright about its cost.
Once the spares are locally manufactured, you can see a significant dip in the cost.
