Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
I started typing, then went away from the desk for a moment, came back and posted the reply. Then I see u had already replied.Originally posted by brokenbinil View PostUnlike India, most countries have mandatory DRL as per law there. One of the reasons some bike have an always on headlight. Kawasaki / Harleys as example. Some bikes and car manufacturers provide DRLs separately. Eg. Audi, BMW, the new Hyundai i20s.
The idea is increased visibility to people on the road.

Its the temp rating that im bothered about. I dont want white beam. Hope you are aware that the high beams and low beams together generate a lotta heat together which can harm the headlight assembly/wiring and also draw more power from battery. Though its not much harm until ridden hard all night on a regular basis.
Of course pilot lights are for DRL's
Im eager to see how the DRL looks in LED. Post pics please!
Does it come with dual horn? How loud it is? Has any one changed the stock horn?Originally posted by sman999 View PostActually its mandatory in some countries that motor vehicles must be ridden with the headlamps "on" for better visibility to ongoing traffic. There came the concept of DRL for cars. Instead of headlights just proprietary lights called DRL were brought in to play. They were purely for safety reasons. They glow when a motor vehicle is fired up.
But now it has been put to aesthetic use as well. We call it pilot lamps/DRL's.
My dear brothers.
Where exactly do we see this in the 300 ? Does the headlight keep running on low bean all the time ? Is this what we call as DRL ?Its better to sweat than to bleed...

LOL.. No Bro. There are a pair of pilot lamps(park lamps, whatever u call them) right? We leave it on while riding during the day time. Hence DRL.Originally posted by Shashank Suresh View PostMy dear brothers.

Pilot lamp = DRL.
Hence proved!

Just fire the engine, run to the front of the vehicle, You can see two eyebrow like things running. I guess its 5W lamp. Those are the DRLs you are looking for.Originally posted by Shashank Suresh View PostMy dear brothers.

Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
If I am not wrong, I heard from Benelli themselves when I went to check out the bikes for the first time, seeing the headlight off/on switch, which if any of you have noticed on the Benelli bikes of other countries, they don't have it, the lights just come on the instant the bike comes to life, but Benelli were thoughtful enough to put a light off and on switch on the right hand side console (the same place where the hazard warning switch is located in outside countries) to save the bulbs as well as the battery as that kind of law is more mandatory in Europe and America more, but I guess by 2017 its going to be mandatory here too.Originally posted by brokenbinil View PostUnlike India, most countries have mandatory DRL as per law there. HAHA!! I do see the lights switched on. I see four lamps. 2 tiger lamps (RE term) and 2 parking lights.Originally posted by sman999 View PostDead slow! :P

Please say that you see the pilot lamps/DRL glowing.
Does this happen every time the vehicle is switched on? I mean all four lamps burning ?
----consecutive posts auto-merged-----
This is why Harley Davidson bikes have the light switched on always!!Originally posted by TheArcher84 View PostMy understanding of DRL is (I amy be wrong here, Its just my terms I am posting here) , Just ti increase the visibility of approaching vehicles from behind in your RVMs (Rear view mirrors).Last edited by Shashank Suresh; 12-12-2015, 01:23 PM.Its better to sweat than to bleed...

Let it get dirty my friend. Do not maintain it like a princess. Maintain it like a soldier. Out and dirty, wash once in a while and just ride it. Let it be muddy, splattered with slush and dirt. It gives you a feeling of ' buddy, job well done'Originally posted by Shashank Suresh View PostMy 300 is extremely dirty. Please post pics ASAP.
