Abhijit said that he has only 3 joints but i have 4-5 joints at various location. Though its not seen but when dirt gets collected in between the crease, it looks as if you got a scratch.

Also as for the sliders, i don't know why few of us were charged for installation of sliders, i was not charged. I installed them on my first service.

Did my second service and here's my bill for study... they gave a sling bag to compensate the high price of service when i mentioned that its just 1.5k in Bangalore and Mumbai.

2.1k for labour is just unacceptable.

Today I found an open stretch... Couldn't control my temptation.

Pushed the bike to 7k and when I saw the speedo it was 103

Immediately slowed down. This is indeed a beast!!! Waiting eagerly to complete my first service and push it to 8k

I am planning to get the frame sliders fixed this month end. (running low on cash ).

So service charge will be applied and that's what I heard.

Also regarding the light shooting up to the sky, the showroom guy started a brand new 300 and showed me the same issue. This is something that Benelli should looking into and start working on it.

I never really checked the low beam scatter but yes it goes high up also, probably due to the dome shape of the head light. Did not like the stock bulbs (Philips) so changed to Osram Night-breaker Unlimited. Now it is good ... When on highways in night riding I'm using a zip tie on my flash switch and use high beam and low beam together. Does a decent job for cruising at 100 + speeds.

Also changed the pilot lamps to white LEDs from Osrams. I use it as DRLs

incase someone is interested ... the headlight bulbs are H7 Type and using the same wattage 55/55
Wont changing the bulbs void the warranty ?

Nope, It's a consumable, like engine oil, tires, your choice what you want to use, as long as it's within the recommended grade.

For Eg. The wattage is 55 Watts each. wouldn't be a issue till you plonk on a 100 W or something.
Engine oil is 10W40/10W50 recommended, brand doesn't matter till you use the relevant grades.

wont the switch get spoiled due to that?
also are the pilot lamps brighter than the stock?

Do they actually do all those? I feel like all they do is give a clean wash and lube the chain. Or am I being too pessimistic?

I personally have these guys (at least) do them all. They are not like Honda or Pulsar SVC centres where the things you mentioned does indeed happen and I myself have confronted them once for my P220 service.

Here in Raipur ktm they do these things and I think it varies from svc to svc and mechanic.

I personally prefer the Xtreme Vision plus from Philips than the Osram one's.. Its the temp rating that im bothered about. I dont want white beam. Hope you are aware that the high beams and low beams together generate a lotta heat together which can harm the headlight assembly/wiring and also draw more power from battery. Though its not much harm until ridden hard all night on a regular basis.

Of course pilot lights are for DRL's Im eager to see how the DRL looks in LED. Post pics please!

Does it come with dual horn? How loud it is? Has any one changed the stock horn?

Don't think it would create an issue. I have done this earlier too. Anyway planning to get AUX LEDs by the time I head to hills next year.
I think Raghu from Bangalore had issues with his headlight wires melting (in normal use) . Keeping that in mind i have checked the wiring and connectors after every long ride. No signs of excess heating yet.

Haven't clicked any pics. Will do over weekend. Pilot lamps are 5 W WHITE LEDs so yeah bright enough to be visible in day light.

Osram UNB are not white. Its a shade between yellow and white. The glass tubes are half blue and half clear, unlike full blue in case of white beam lights. Have checked on the heat front as i mentioned earlier, yes, it's not recommended but a decent work around. However the lights do not heat up a lot even after prolonged use.

Horns : one of my friends has changed his horns on the 600i. I think he is using Bosch. not sure of model though. It did not make much of a difference till he fixed relay inline.

I am using the stock horns. BTW all Benelli bikes have only single horns.

May be they do, i agree. At least for premium vehicles like Benelli, Kawasaki, Triumph etc.. Not for my CBR though, never seen them do it.

                        2. Check for the sensors if faulty
Unless your bike doesnt start/showing some warning in the console/you complain of any power issues they probably not gonna check it.

                        3. I dont know how to adjust a chain slackness
That can be learnt. Very easy AFAIK.

                        4. Open the cylinder head to check for cam (if necessary).
One in a million times may be.

                        5. Check and clean throttle bodies
I agree cuz I have heard my mechanic say that a quite few times.
Thank you for pointing out the work done.

For cars i have seen them do an computer simulation connecting the laptop to some port in the ECU(i guess) to check if everything is all right. For our bikes(not SBK's) they dont do anything as such right?

My point is for changing engine oil, oil filter and chain lube as mentioned in the bill why the Heck one has to pay 2100Rs. I understand if the consumables are costly being premium category. I say i would do it my self and save that for a trip.

                        Cheers,

Unlike India, most countries have mandatory DRL as per law there. One of the reasons some bike have an always on headlight. Kawasaki / Harleys as example. Some bikes and car manufacturers provide DRLs separately. Eg. Audi, BMW, the new Hyundai i20s.

The idea is increased visibility to people on the road.

This is out of the context, but in line with the Benelli group , I just saw a news on Benelli launching the TNT 25 in India on December 18th. Any updates on this.

Actually its mandatory in some countries that motor vehicles must be ridden with the headlamps "on" for better visibility to ongoing traffic. There came the concept of DRL for cars. Instead of headlights just proprietary lights called DRL were brought in to play. They were purely for safety reasons. They glow when a motor vehicle is fired up.

But now it has been put to aesthetic use as well. We call it pilot lamps/DRL's.

My understanding of DRL is (I amy be wrong here, Its just my terms I am posting here) , Just ti increase the visibility of approaching vehicles from behind in your RVMs (Rear view mirrors).
