I have come across few owners of 600i who are selling their beats in about 4 to 6 months of ownership.

When inquired for reason, they say they wanna upgrade to Ducati or some other motorcycle.

I somehow feel that there is a disconnect as I have not come across anyone who purchases an expensive piece of machinery and decides to sell it to go for much more expensive one in less than 6 months. Not sure whether 6 Lakh is expensive for them.

One more thing that I have noticed is that these folks hardly share their issues and fixes and any enhancements.

Only thing I could relate to is that they took the plunge because they were seduced by the exhaust note as one person I know is taking plunge precisely for same reason.

Few breakfast rides and they wanna upgrade.

Have come across such cases. I have found the 300 owners to be much more mature .... No offense to 600 owners as I know only a few who have taken the bike because of what the bike is meant to be.
Rightly mentioned by experimentalhead, most use it for breakfast rides. May be they bought it for the sake of buying it. n surely 6 Lakhs does not seem as a lot to such people. Ajj Benelli Kal Ducati Parsow Kuch Aur !!!

On that note i even know a few who have sold the 600 to buy 300

.
Thats a bit saddening to hear. What you have quoted here Raghu bhai is spot-on. They dont seems to connect with the vehicle at all. Or may be they dont find the brand name fancy enough to say it loud to people. I have had an experience as such. Once I told the name to a person standing in the signal next to me, he was like WTF??? I never heard such name other than Kawasaki or Yamaha...

It has been happening to me for the past two days. Happened to me today as well. A car wala was chasing me today for a long time and I got stuck in traffic. He approached me and asked me the same question, "Enna brand pa idhu ?" (What brand is this). I was frustrated hence instead of Benelli by purpose I stated "sundelli" (meaning rat/mouse) and zipped

Anyway, coming back to the point, I just checked OLX and found few 600s for sale which are hardly driven. Disheartening to know.

LOw FE and maintenance can be a reason plus lot of people have never heard of benelli so they think its not a recognized brand.

People shouldn't buy a 600CC bike for FE. And the maintenance is high. That's something like occupational hazard. As @dhwaz29 told me once "Welcome to sports bike maintenance my friend".

Frankly speaking, It would be silliest reason one could say. Any sports vehicle is known for its high maintenance and low FE. In spite of knowing about a sports bike and its flaws, an individual buys, IMO, He is the most -------- person.

+1

If they want good FE and low maintenance, they should get TVS 50 XL

Even one of our Xbhp members, Sanket, is selling his 600i, I just now saw the AD in OLX, quite surprising!!

The reason why most of the people are selling is because 600i basically doesn't have any Low and Mid range.most of the people who buy this bike mainly think of lightning pickup and mid.but this bike is different.it's all about calmness and once it touches speeds above 100 it just screams and passes (with xl55 definitely )
My point is most of the people who buy bike in India just wants initial pickup and power 10 times with the money they pay.unfortunately most of the people who are selling itnare hunting for power and that's it.I am sure they will find some niggle in the ducatis also(talk about skills)
