See thats exactly what I am talking about. You get an affidavit and its gonna be fine no matter from where you get it. BTW do you remember ? Did it have any RTO officer's sign on it ?[/QUOTE]

1.5k is too much, ask him why do RTO has to sign it? Alternatively pay a visit to RTO office and check with concerned officer. Trust me it's not that difficult, you have to invest your time and act dumb as if you are trying to understand the norms. Trust me it will work out, remember to hold your horses

Some how I am getting this feeling that this requirement of affidavit and stuff is to get some time for maybe getting your vehicle ready. Or could be that the vehicle allocated to you have been diverted to some other customer and hence they want some time to get the new one, hence these requirement. Otherwise these are not fast moving vehicles and the sales person can't afford to loose a sale just because address proof is not there. As mentioned, they just take some additional charges and get it done outside so that a sale goes through... Just my thought...

Thank you so much for the tip. I will go in person and check what the RTO has to say.

I have the same feeling now. The salesperson told me that he will call today and its evening and they haven't returned a call yet. I have called them twice and they are picking up. I have lost my patience and will escalate this matter immediately.

Can someone pass me the customer complaint email address and the number if you have ?

No need for any RT officer's signature cuz I got it from a lawyer residing in a near by apartment and gave it to the showroom. But the catch is that the RT officer has to approve it when u submit the doc. And for such cases the RTO charges some fee which I believe in tamilnadu is ~Rs.700 (4 yrs back) for which I was forced to pay Rs.1000. Also Rs.200 to get the legal bond from the lawyer that I reside in so and so place. Which RTO in chennai?

          Cheers,

Hi Shashank Suresh I think I saw you yesterday in the show room. I was there to make my payments.

Finally I will be getting my bike on Monday.
After that I will post some pics.
I am planning to ride it to my place (Nagercoil).

After escalating the prevailing issues, i finally got messages, calls and emails apologizing and finalizing my bike's delivery.

Finally things are falling into place.

I cordially invite everyone in this thread to visit the showroom on Monday (I'll confirm the timing beforehand). Please join me and share the happiness during my first bike's delivery.

                      See you all there
