Anyways coming back to the point, I was just curious to know if it is difficult to maintain. Black is really difficult to maintain but I bought it coz I can blend it with the crowd. The Green and Red are really good but just too flashy and gains more attention.

Also, are you from Chennai ? If yes which area ?
I agree with your blending point. My very close friend exactly says the same. But from my POV, black almost kills the curves of a vehicle and I alsp like to flaunt a bit, just like that.

I lived in Chennai when i worked. Now, my business is based on Chennai. I live in Theni. I do Visit Chennai very frequently, 8/10 times in my CBR 250R.

Try riding an 80's Bullet and you wont say like this anymore. Its all about the thump. It can be modified at any extent to your custom preference, touring capability, lots of aftermarket touring accessories at a cheaper price as they are manufactured locally. The modern Enfields are crap when compared to them. The younger generation just fall for it purely because of the brand craze and retro style. Though i expect some thing big with respect to RE Himalayan which is yet to be launched. Waiting for it eagerly.

        Hey buddy

I had a few requirements that I felt would not just make me happy but also would not strain my body in the long run.

        1. The seating must be straight where my elbows and back don't get stressed. (This is one reason why I did not go for the R15, R3 and N300).
        2. The bike should be pretty powerful, powerful enough to go for tours and excite me when I open throttle in open stretches.
        3. Need not be a head turner but should look good.
        4. Decent FE.

I had a few bikes in mind and they are as below.

        Duke 200:
        What I liked.
        1. Looks
        2. Raw power (which I disliked as well)
        3. Price

        What I disliked.
        1. Pillion seat that would fit only a super-model.
        2. Raw power. (I am not sure if I will be able to control myself riding a bike with such mad power)
        3. Way too light for tours. Best friend for wind blast.
        4. Heat produced by the engine because of high compression and the engine being single cylinder.

        Duke 390:
        Please read above

RC 200 and RC 390 ruled out because the riding position would kill my elbow and back. And pillion seat is a joke so let's not even talk about it.

        N300:
        What I like:
        1. I love its presence, the big bike feel.
        2. No ABS (At Least the TNT has dual disc)

        What I don't like
        1. Exhaust is way too silent.
        2. Tires are pretty normalish but could have been better.
        3. Way too expensive for what i'm paying for.

        RE 350:
I didn't go for the Classic 500 as I felt 350 does most of the job and I dont trust the EFI of the 500.
        What I liked:
        1. Seating position for both rider and pillion.
        2. Heavy and hence solid during touring and wind blast.
        3. Desi exhaust note.
        4. Innumerable customization.
        5. White colour looked Royal.
        6. Proven to be good for touring.
        7. After sales has a great value

        What I didn't like:
        1. Service sucks.
        2. Parts do not have life.
        3. Tyres

Why I chose the Benelli ? Well it was very simple. I did not have enough cash with me hence I settled for the RE. But when got enough cash, I started researching on what I could get. Ruled out r3 and n300 because of the pillion seating and riding posture. (purely personal no offence to the owners) .

        Benelli TNT 300:
        What I love
        1. Exhaust note. PURE EARGASM
        2. Seating posture.
        3. Pillion seat is big and I love the separation between the rider and the pillion. (I like my own space)
        4. Pirelli Angel tyres.
        5. Parallel twin engine.
        6. Biggest tyres in its range.
        7. Twin disc.
        9. Linear power distribution.

        What I can manage with
        1. Weight (~200 kgs)
        2. Service cost (~5k)
        3. Service interval (4k kms or 4 months)
        4. FE (Between 24 and 28)

        What I didn't like:
        1. Spare parts are too expensive.
        2. Accessories cost a bomb.
        3. Dealer in Chennai do not have enough information to provide. I suffered a lot. They unnecessary delay things as well.

PS: This is purely personal and I didn't mean to offend anyone. If I did please listen to darude sandstorm and chill out

MoJO has the least power to weight ratio and has yet to prove it self in the market.

Bullet even of the 80's is still a tractor why travel by ST bus when you can take a Volvo.
Also the maintenance and oil leaking issues is a pain.

5 years in the making and they finally released a product. I am not sure how "reliable" it is going to be in the long-run. True that the Benelli TNT 300 a.k.a Benelli Bn302 has some issues which are faced by users world-wide but as a product, it's a proven one

The exhaust pipe in the third pic looks "rusted". Is it so or is it just mud ?

sorry it was just my personal opinion as i have tried the RE and i feel people who maintain the Re are really rich cos they shed out a lot for maintenance plus it gives low FE and Lesser performance i dont understand y people even buy such products, the RE is also not trying to bring any innovations i mean look at triumph they were thumpers too but they have moved a long way in terms of refinement and technology.

Im not against RE but i would never buy one. :P Its just not my cup of tea. Earlier it used to be a mature rider's machine but these days its a young rider's machine. Many people (no offense RE owners) buy RE due to lack of knowledge. They say its the "pride of India", "Built like gun" all that nonsense and they think the service will be cheap & effective since its built in India. But they have no idea of RE is capable of truly. 90% of them boast that they are "Bikers" and they own a RE (Again no offense).

I believe its a BENELLI thread So lets leave this conversation here before the Benelli owners gets pissed off.

I dont know much about Triumph but i have heard people say they are still old school in terms of technology at least WRT to Bonnies.
