    Hi Binil,
Seems they have charged you for 600i! I just confirmed that for 600i the cost of general servicing is 2500 & for TNT300 it is 1500 (it was Rs.800 earlier).
Check with Sunil if it was charged by mistake.

        Guys I have a confusion.

The business head calls me today and asks me to make the payment. My bike was shipped last week and it is lying in the service center for 7 days. I have taken a loan of 1L and I rest will be paid as down-payment.

The loan is getting processed as we speak and only today I signed the required documents.

He also told me that he wants the cheque as "self" and not in the organization's name. (something fishy )

Also, he called me a couple of times asking me to give the cheque to him as he has given his personal money to get the bike. Why on earth would someone get a bike for his customer using his money ? (again something fishy )

I later called the salesperson who was coordinating with me from the beginning and usko batthi diya.

I haven't confirmed on the bike delivery date as well. I have not asked the dealer to get the bike anytime soon but they have already shipped the bike along with a few bikes that are going to be delivered this week.

Do we really need to make the full payment before even deciding on the delivery date ?

Honestly, I am not happy with the incidents that has taken place today.
Why bitter experience with the dealership?

Do not make the cheque out to self ever in your life. It should always be against a account name to be trackable. In this specific scenario, whatever the story the business guy might say, end of the day your relationship is with the dealership itself and not the persons working for it. Hence you make all payments to dealership only and all documentation with the dealership only.

As for full payment, dealer will deliver the bike only against full payment. Even PDI wont be done without full payment.

You can PDI the bike yourself before the bike is allocated to you, after allocation, small scratches will entitle you to some small articles or a teflon coating. Incase of a major issue, depending on your relationship with the dealership, they can replace the bike IF the bike is not gone for registration.
        Regardless, Life shall go on.

Yeah you are right. Just had a talk with Shyam from DSK - south service head. He confirmed the same and asked for my bill copy. Said he will sort it out.

            Thanks you for the tip

There were various scenarios because of which I felt that there was no proper inflow of information. For example: Loan details. No proper documentation is in-place. I had to call them several times to follow up on it but despite that, communication was weak and hence there were loads of confusion.

I might be jumping on the gun to term it as "bitter" but its just my personal opinion. For people paying full-cash might not face any issues. The sales personnel working there are really good. They are patient to answer any question we throw at them. They are also very customer-centric but they need improvement when it comes to people like me who go for loans. May be I am expecting for perfection and flawless interaction which is not a realistic expectation.

            Anyway...

I will be making my full payment ASAP and ill also carry out my pre-checks and fingers crossed on the outcome.

              Hi guys,

Still waiting for my bike. Delivery was delayed by a slight hitch with the documentation required for RTO registration.

Till then, I have a couple of questions:

              1. Is it advisable to to take delivery of the bike with just a temporary registration certificate? As the RTO in Pune is shut for most of next week, the registration process might not be completed till the 16th or so, instead of the usual 2-3 days.
              2. How many of you have opted to apply the 3M paint protection film? Is it worth it?
              3. Is there a good saddlebag for this bike? I currently own a ViaTerra Leh, but it casued major scratches on the fiber panels where it rested against the bike. I do not want this to happen with the TNT-300.

You can take it but be careful because the Insurance may not be active till you get a proper registration.

I am using 3M PPF on my bike. Trust me it's a saviour. The problem is you won't get many 3M dealers willing to fix it on a bike. I did it with with just 3 pieces for my tank initially. Then I got myself a roll from eBay and fixed it on my own. I maninly needed it as I was using a tank bag and saddle bag so needed to save the panels and the tank.

I have tried many different saddle bags but none could be used with a pillion sitting. In case you don't have a pillion the ViaTerra Leh should work fine. Regarding the scratches - TIP - use medical scotch tape on the panels before fixing the bag, That helps on a temporary basis till you get ppf done.

Congrats on the booking. I hope you have a great time with her.

                  1. It's a risk to drive with the temporary registration certificate. I am not sure if it is valid for more than a couple of days.

                  2. Regarding 3M PPF, please refer to the below link.

                  3. No idea about saddlebags my friend. I do remember checking one out in AliExpress. Probably you can search it out.

Regarding 3M PPF, I've used it on my car previously & I'm very satisfied with it. It saved my front & back bumpers, mirrors from nasty scratches.
So I decided to go ahead with the PPF instead of tank pad. I had tank pad on my Fz but except for that portion the tank bag scratched the tank in many places, doesn't matter how much care I take.
But there is a small issue with PPF. Not many can apply it fluently. Few guys had a problem, as it was not applied correctly on the tank, or few bubbles were formed. The bubbles are formed around the logo on the tank, around the flag stickers if the PPF covers it. So ask the person to cut the PPF around it & if you do not mind minor bubbles then keep it that way.
I primarily wanted to protect the tank from tank bag so I didn't mind minor bubbles, but that is not the case with others, so do check with 3M guys if they can do it properly.
But by far the best protection for the tank for sure. Few guys in Mumbai have done it for 300 & for 600i as well.

Regrading the saddle bags, I used ViaTerra Claw & found no issues.
For Leh check if you can put any soft foam (neoprene or sleeping mat type) behind the bags so that it won't scratch. Easier to put, use welcrow to put it in place. One strip sticks to the bag & other to the foam. Since the bag is pushed against the cover it will hold the foam in place.
I have similar saddle bags but only worry for me is the bag brushing against the tire, but need to mount it & check. On Fz I had saree guards on both sides which served as a perfect support for the saddle bags.

End of the day, all service centers are money oriented not service oriented.
Since yours is a Z800, can it not be given to other authorized service centers, you must have heard of this one since you are put up in Bangalore too, Auto Service in Banashankari 2nd stage, the owner himself has a Ninja 650 and they do a good service, I was getting my Pulsar 220 serviced from them, before I bought my CBR

Only Kasturba Road service center is authorised for CBU bikes. As far i know, Venkat Sir doesn't service bikes above N650.

Thank you for the detailed reply, Abhijit. Not owning a tank bag myself, I hadn't considered its possible effects at all.

How much did the 3M PPF cost you in total (incl. labour)?

A friend had the 3M PPF applied to his R3 recently @3M Viman Nagar; he seems to be pretty satisfied with the work done. Hopefully they'll do a good job with mine as well.

Thanks for the tip. I didn't face any issues with the Leh while riding with a pillion, although it may have been a little uncomfortable for the pillion.

What I meant is specific to the TNT300 ... There isn't a saddle bag tailor made for TNT 300 yet.
All the saddle bag models available are covering up the rear foot pegs. And if you push it back then you risk breaking the blinkers.

Guys, thought I would give some update on the Labour Charge issue i had been facing since the 2nd Service.

So Shyam from DSKBenelli had a talk with me and we figured that I was charged the Labour charges for TNT 600 instead of the TNT 300.

So now, the service center would be returning Rs. 1140/- and would adjust it in the next (3rd) service. Additionally I have given feedback to him that SVC should display the labour/service charges for various items and work in their service centers.

Also asked him what the 500/- consumables charge is ?

Consumable used for the chain cleaning / Lubrication, Polishing, Coolant top up, Etc.

Thought i'd share this as we all can be on the same page.
