Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
Okay, I didn't want to post anything here until I at least booked the bike, but I guess I shouldn't leave that negative comment on here. It might be a red flag for someone else. Getting to matters, I visited the showroom the same day they miss quoted 4.99L because my folks wanted a definitive answer and they didn't like me planning to get a Duke 390 as they are worried that it is too aggressive. I must say, all my disappointment about the sales executives just went away the moment we stepped in. The presence of my family put them on their best. They literally swept my family off their feet. So the cochin dealer is pretty good if they feel you are a real customer and not a teen trying to have a joy ride.
My family decided that this is the bike. But I wanted a TD, which they promised the next day. I went there the very next day and was immediately taken to the TD bike. A dear friend of mine accompanied me as pillion and I must say that the bike hides its 196kg weight very well. It didn't feel heavy even with a pillion. Weight was something I was apprehensive about and I forgot about that the moment I took the bike off its stand.
Once in motion, things got even better. Being used an RTR 180, I cant put to words how refined it felt. The TD bike, having been ripped to its limit by others, did have a strange issue with fuelling when opening the throttle after fully closing it. But that, I understand, isn't the case with a new bike. I'm gonna stay away from talking about the exhaust note, as it has been covered well here. But what confuses me is how tractable this engine is. 35kmph @ 6th gear. I say strange because this is supposed to be a peaky engine with less torque than a 390. Might have something to do with the use of counterbalances' on the crank. I didn't feel the bike to be slow by any standards, even if it is technically slower than a 390 and all I care about is the feeling. Numbers don't matter much on the streets.
So, the bike swept me off my feet as well. I guess I'll be the proud owner of one of these beasts if all things go according to plan. Will probably place the booking amount by mid Nov. I am so damn excited that I just had to post here, even though I'm not an owner yet.Must ride on!

Fantsatic! Congratulations !Originally posted by MaestroX1 View PostGuys, I'm picking up the bike tomorrow.
Is there anything specific that I should check for during the post-delivery insepction?
Please go through regular PDI. To put it very briefly:
All documents like invoice, tax slip, insurance etc.
Ride the bike in the premises before you ride home
Check all electricals and entire body thoroughly
Check the chassis number and compare with one on insurance copy
Enjoy every moment
All the best. Enjoy your ride.Last edited by experimentalhead; 11-01-2015, 10:05 PM.

I tried to convince, but was not possible, probably due to language barrier.Originally posted by TheArcher84 View PostWhere to Raghu this time ??

Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
i think all bike owners are fully satisfied by the service of this bike. in my opnion bike is over weight by 20kg and does not have ABS and SC. the dealer is adding 10k as handling charges which i have not seen in any other bike's case.vijay super-1981,vespa1984,herohonda1988,herohondasleek1989,su zuki shaolin1994,herohondacbz2000,suzukiferro2000,honda unicorn2004,kawasaki-bajaj eliminator2005,rtr1802010

Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
So here's the dumbest dilemma ever .... TNT300 vs TNT600
I've been following two threads for some time which only added to my confusion.
1. I ride mostly in the city @30kms a day and the occasional ride
.
2. My being in India is another fear as my H1 is being filed. So resale is also something i have to think about.
3. Financials will be a bit stretched with the TNT600 ... but that's the price you pay for passion
4. Operating costs for both the vehicles.
I test drove both the vehicles.
The TNT300 seems more usable in the city as the JNTU/Hitech route limits me to snail crawling speeds for a good hour.
The TNT600 is addictive...the looks, the music and the power(need to get used to it) ... and considering I might only get one shot at it might as well fulfill the dream.
So considering the above, should i go for the TNT600 or TNT300. The heart says 600 while the brain says 300.When I'm on the road, I'm indestructible. No one can stop me... but they try.

Focus on your H1B, once in US you have a lot many (better) options to fulfill your passion.
Not sure about the resale value, but choose the one based on your priorities & liking.
Both are distinct motorcycles with different characters.

abhijit The issue is that the H1B means next November atleast and I want to make this before i have to deal with worldly things like responsibilities. Which is the concern regarding the resale of the bikes.Originally posted by abhijitkn View PostHi Naveen,

The 300 seems good for daily purposes and the 600 is something i can grow into ... all this indecisiveness :-(. I'm not even going to the 'Z' word. When I'm on the road, I'm indestructible. No one can stop me... but they try.

Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
Leaving aside your travel to US, you got to prioritize your liking. Some like parallel twin, some fall for Inline 4. Whats your liking towards. Get hold of that.Originally posted by Naveen Vajja View Post@abhijit The issue is that the H1B means next November atleast and I want to make this before i have to deal with worldly things like responsibilities. Secondly, Operating cost for 600 will obviously be more than 300
. Maintenance wise, your service bill apprx will be around 6k for 600 (leaving the 1st service as labour is free of charge).
You will end up spending say ~500 rs a week for fuel. (i.e.) You should be able to drive 160 kms with 8 litres. SO that sums up your weekly ride to work/college/etc
I am not going to give any gyan like what you ride now or the jump from a 100cc to 600cc is too much. But you got to get used to the power it delivers. I hope you must be well aware of the limits these machine can take you.R15S - Current
Honda Dio - Current
TNT 600i - Sold
Classic 500 - Sold
Pulsar 220 dtsi - Sold
Yamaha YBX125 - Sold

Logically T3, emotionally T6.
Regardless, Life shall go on.
