Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
Hi There,Originally posted by Amodraut View PostHello. I'm confused between duke 390 and tnt300. I never had the luck to test drive the tnt(wasn't ever available) and now I don't even want to visit the showroom. One of my friends said it doesn't have good acceleration and weight is too much..
I'm more inclined towards performance, but is it too bad? I'm looking at this for comfort, refinement, build quality and the sound.
I have selected TNT 300 for below point hope it might help you in you selection.
1. It's a very good machine for daily commute as well as for touring which is biggest plus point for me.
2. The looks are more simpler and matured then KTM 390, as flashy colors won't go with the a 35yrs old man like me. Lol.
3. Comfortable seat for rider and pillion, that takes care of my family too.
4. Refined engine compared to KTM.
5. Fanatic stock exaust notes!
Cheers!

Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
Visited Benelli showroom in Cochin 2 days back and was literally blown away by the TNT 300. But they quoted 3.38L which is way out of my budget. Why are CKD bikes so much more expensive in Kerala? 😒 You guys are so lucky. I have a question for you guys, I noted a wire running to the bracket that holds the rear calliper, it isn't an ABS sensor, so what could it be? I know I should have taken a picture of the component in question, but I just wasn't thinking straight, you know... Like how we lose our mind when around beautiful women. Just curious to know what it is. Hoping to get a test ride tomorrow.Must ride on!

Oops, silly me, I meant 3.83..... Sorry. Some how the price difference for CKD bikes in cochin and other states seems greater. I may be wrong though. Well, the guy there who is actually pretty knowledgeable said that he isn't too sure about what it is. I didn't check the front wheel for the regular speedo cable, so I can't comment any further. But I'd really love to know what it is, I'm just a really curious person. Thanks for the reply though.Must ride on!

Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
Price difference is because of higher tax in kerala. Even i am from kerala only. Am thinking about getting a Daytona. But here the tax is more than 20 percent which is way higher than other states. Wish i were from pondicherry.Originally posted by ananthu View PostOops, silly me, I meant 3.83..... Sorry. Some how the price difference for CKD bikes in cochin and other states seems greater. Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
None of the bikes above 95k was in my budget until I saw Benelli. All in my mind was to pick up splendor, I would say that I went even to check honda250, Duke 200 and even KTM 390/RC and when I saw this there was kind of connection and today I am very happy to own one. No regrets only happiness.Originally posted by ananthu View PostVisited Benelli showroom in Cochin 2 days back and was literally blown away by the TNT 300. Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
It is the speed sensor, I have a similar one on my CBR too, at first I too was wondering how is the speed measured as we are used to seeing the speedometer cable running down to the front tire.Originally posted by ananthu View PostOops, silly me, I meant 3.83..... So, this bike doesn't have a speed sensor at the front wheel as we are used to seeing? I didn't have a doubt about what it was sensing, wheel speed, I just didn't know what it was doing with that info considering how the bike doesn't have ABS. Thanks though. But are you sure that the one on your CBR isn't the sensor for the ABS? I mean, that too is technically a speed sensor. I'm not saying you are wrong, I just wanna make sure I get the right info. 😉 Thanks anyways.Must ride on!

Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
My few cents. I visited DSC Benelli in Chennai two days back. Took a test ride on the TNT 300. What a bike! A few of my observations based on the small test ride. Never felt like it weighed 196kgs. And the rider seat is very comfortable. Pulls cleanly from 2k rpm in all gears. Doesn't heat up even in decent traffic. And holy mother of god, the sound that it makes! Small few niggles I found. The switches are too small especially the indicator switch. Mild footpeg vibes in midrange. Personally, I felt the instrument cluster could be better. PRICE! And for all that sweet sound the machine made, I was scared for the cops too! Wonder how all of you manage that. Overall I was blown away! And the showroom personnel are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Had a lovely chat with Suburmanian, the business head. Can someone tell how the service centre is at Chennai? I believe it is near Ekkatuthangal.Last edited by harishkumarko; 10-12-2015, 12:43 PM.Tour De Thekkady
