Exactly same thing happened to me yesterday night at Meenabakkam signal bro. Just replace R1 with z1000 and that splendor with fz.

You are right Bro. I too said this not to offend any brand owners.

I normally handle such showoff in a different way. I pretend show that even I am interested in a drag, but will slow down after a quick acceleration. In the end they are happy thinking they won the race, I am happy because they won't bother me again[emoji1] .

Going in for my second service today. My 300 has completed 3600 kms.. but really need a service as I am heading out for a long drive next weekend.
            Updates so far..

            1. Bike is running fine and smooth even in rains.
            2. Tyre do give riding confidence even on wet roads.
            3. The bike's chain has started to rust badly even after constant lubrication.

Will update the details about the servicing once back from the service center.

How often do you lube ?

Are you located in any coastal region ? - corrosion is high in these regions, hence you need to increase maintenance and care.

I lube my chain every 800-1000 kms depending on conditions I am riding in.
If it rains or i go through water logged roads I reduce the kilometer intervals. Done 14000 kms and the stock chain and sprocket set is doing great.

Which lube are you using ? I have personally found 3M and Motul to be useless in Indian conditions because they are not sticky and hardly last a few hundred kilometers. I have been using SuperLube from Tribocor and am quite impressed with it.

I usually lube arnd 700-800 kms..
But have been constantly riding in Mumbai rains... My concern is, how does this metal rust just in a couple of months..? This seems to be a serious quality issue. Even my rear crash guards fell off while parking due to the rust in the screws holding them.

I have been using the motul chain clean and lube. Thanks for the suggestion of the superlube, will try it bro.

Btw I've got the b-twin mudguard too.. really effective in keeping the muck away from getting too the radiator and engine parts.

Salty air around the coast has a nasty way of treating metals ... i have seen good cars getting all rusted in the underbody region ... It will stay rust proof ... just that you need to care for it a little more than inland areas ... and rains tend to aggravate the problem as it washes off the lube.

To start with try Tribocor SuperLube (TC205) & TC208 - chain cleaner. And if used regularly in monsoon reduce lubing frequency to 500kms ... It might seem to early or expensive but nothing is better than a long life of your motocycle chain.

Cost wise it is still effective, The above two cans together will set you back by some 800 bucks. The lube (one can) can easily last you 5k+ kms. Works better than any other lube available in india. Infact you can avoid the cleaner if you are willing to get your hand dirty and use kerosene. I apply the lube little by little and spreading the lube across the O Rings (the gap between two links). It may sound cumbersome and yes, it is messy ... but can help you avoid wastage of lube and an early chain replacement (close to 15k for the set).
I personally know two bikes apart from mine which have crossed 15k on the odo and the chain is showing no visible sign of wear and tear ... one has even reached 22k ...
So the chains have it in them to last but the extra care is necessary depending on condition we ride in. Dusty, Off Road, Saltwater; Sand (Beaches), Coastal Areas and of course rains - Extra Care Required.

                        • How many TNT 300 owners have faced Manufacturing issues with their vehicles? (UNDER NORMAL USE)

                          Dear all,

I have been going through the treacherous task of deciding on what to purchase. Since past few days upton discussions with fellow Xbhpians I have come across several stating Manufacturing issues with this vehicle. In the likes of, Bearings going bad, Horns not working, Starter issue and so and so.

My bold question to this community is ; How many have owned this vehicle and faced issues which would be considered out of the user's responsibility under normal use.?

I will add a poll to this , Please answer in Yes or No and maybe comment on what your issue was.

Note: PLEASE DO NOT BOTHER IF YOU MISUSE OR USE THE VEHICLE IN A WAY IT IS NOT INTENDED AND FACED ISSUES THEREAFTER. ALSO BE MINDFUL THIS IS NOT A BASH/RANT THREAD FOR DSK OR BENELLI OR ANY DEALERSHIP FOR SAY. BE PROFESSIONAL.

                          Thanks for you genuine replies.

Have completed 15K on the ODO ... no manufacturing defects till date, except the starter relay did not work once. The SVC changed it as a precautionary measure in my next service. I have only one concern reagrding the cost of ownership due to short intervals for service. Else the SVC has been very proactive and responsive in my case.

I wish they start locally sourcing parts to keep the costs under check, now that the bike is doing in good volumes, DSK must act on it. SVC guys from Chennai attended a workshop conducted in Pune and questions were raised regarding the scarcity and pricing of the spares.

Once, the numbers starts increasing, they do have such plans in future. But I wish they act upon it soon.
