I Have a benelli TNT300 Since more than a year now, am very happy with the Bike and its performance.
Now everyone has written the review i will keep it simple.

Reason for Purchase: I had booked a Bullet 500 and was never fan of Japaneses bikes, and Ducati and other brands are not affordable for me. The day i took the Test ride of the bike fell in love with the bike. Ajinkya from DSK Pune helped me with the Purchase. Then I Cancelled the Bullet booking. Purchase was smooth.
Took the Delivery of the bike on 30th April 2016.

    Service Costs

    1> First Service Cost 3500 (1200 kms)
    2> Second Service Cost : 2750 (1800 kms)
    3> Third Service Cost : 4800 (5700 kms )
4> Fourth Service Cost : 6600(8950 kms) (Changed Rear break pads 690 is the Cost)

Changed Clutch lever once cost Rs 450 and labor Rs 200.

    Issues Faced :
1> Front left fork started leaking just a day after my third service: Called the Customer care, they arranged for the pickup and bike got repaired under warranty.
They charged me some Rs 180 for the Oil. Rest was free.
2> Sometimes used to give starting trouble, the mechanic sprayed the WD40 to the starting switch on handle bar and issue got solved. I wonder this never happened to my scooter in last five years.

Mileage am getting is around 27 km/lit mixed highway and city. Highways around 29/30 km/lit
    Top speed i did : 171 km/hr Speedo indicated.

Long trips done: Dombivli - Goa -Dombivli
    #/4 Pune tips
Rest all small rides to Malshej, Lonaval and charoti and few on Nh3

    What i like:
    + Excellent power delivery.
    +Sound
    + Mileage
+ Excellent riding position, and perfect seat height.
    + Excellent for highway cruising.
+ Looks, one of the best in the segments, it looks much bigger that what actually bike is.

    What i dont like:

    - Very basic instrument cluster, it feels cheap very cheap.
    - Too soft seat for my liking, seat should be firm.
    - Switch gear is very avg.
    - Service: Andheri Service Center was bad. Thane is good
-Service intervals and service Cost: Thats too high for a 300 CC bike. We should all come forward and fight with DSK.

Extended warranty is a trap from DSK.
They should do something about the Service cost and service interval, then only it makes seance ow min service cost just labor is 2700 that doesn't makes sense.
    But warranty is really tempting.

As other bikes in the same cat like R3, Ninja, CBR , KTM are much cheaper to service.

Otherwise bike makes my hearth beat faster .
Welcome Parimal and good to see you here on the forum.
I share your views and echo what you mentioned about the servicing cost for a 300 cc bike, that is way too high and the DSK guys say that the warranty voids if you do not follow the service intervals, which are too short.
I just wonder, do the engine oil really need a change after 4k km running? We put Motul's synthetic oil which usually do 8k km.
Extended warranty is a trap to lure you for another two years. They fail to assist you sincerely in first place, during your initial 2 year warranty and tell you reasons for not covering under warranty.
Let's unit all TNT300i owners and fight together.

I agree with you on the 8k kms oil change. If not 8 atleast 6k km is valid for all good synthetic oils. I have tried talking to them multiple times. Not much of help. I am not falling for the extended warranty ploy. That will only force me to go there again and again in the name of warranty.

I am very happy with the bike. 12800km done so far.
Cannot say the same about cost of ownership though.

        Hi Guys,

        short intro:

Sam from Chennai, my past vehicle is Yamaha Yzf-R15 (2010-2016).

i was planing for an upgrade to higher capacity vehicle. i have narrowed myself with Benelli 300. Man this thread is amazing helped me a lot in selection process.

        Booked the vehicle on june 20 (White) and it was delivered yesterday !!! had a 100 km spin with the vehicle (city&highway) ride was relaxed and very comfy.. (speed 30kmph-80kmph){7rpm}

i have few queries with the vehicle could you please help me out ?

        1. Gear box is tight as hell, i have to put all my power on the gear lever for shifting gears.

        2. Run-in period, As per the thread & manual for the Run-in period one has to maintain (1000KM) under 5rpm, (1000-1600) under 7 rpm, but the showroom guys advised me as for the first 1000 km you can go till 7rpm, after first service you can rev to the max. i was quiet dumb to follow the same for the first 100km , after the ride i checked the manual and still i have a lot to go through.

        3. Any suggestions on paint protection, padlock stand and chain lubrication?

        4. I am planing for a weekend drive in ECR like 200km short ride, is it advisable? any suggestion on the same.

        5. Is there any official whats app group for Chennai Benelli users?

It will be a little tight for the first 100 kms or so. Machined parts need some time to set in. Don't worry about it. They would even adjust the clutch cable play at the first service. things will smoothen out big time then.

The recommended rpm and speeds are all figurative. The idea is to not stress out the engine in the first couple of hundred kms. And make sure you don'd keep riding at a particular rpm. This would lead to glazing of the piston. Not a good thing in the long run. Give the bike some variation in speed. You can accelerate fast ... take it to 7k or higher but in a moderate way. And don't stay there for long. Give it variation or city and some open roads to get variable engine speeds. Just ride like you normally would. You will do fine.

Paint Protection : quite a few here have used 3M PPF. But the challenge is getting someone to apply it on a two wheeler. You will find a lot of dealers around for cars but not for two wheelers. Considering you have a white bike, i would not recommend PPF as it tends to fade to off white/yellow tinge after a while. There is something called quartz coating but not sure where u can do it in Chennai.

Paddock Stand : You will find pictures of paddocks a couple of pages back. You can get them from https://www.facebook.com/GA-Engineer...2078363388052/
          contact : 8976413804
Tried and tested. we had got 18 pieces together, all are functioning well. Few others have got it here too.

Chain Lube : its recommended you lube your chain at least every 800-1000kms. Getting it done at SVC is a little expensive. If you are ready to get your hands dirty there are various brands available. my personal favorite is Tribocor.

Its perfectly fine. Just stay within 7k for most of your trip and give a variation in speed and engine rpm. Would be good to give it a break once.

It is heavier but weight is well distributed. Took me 100 odd kms to get a hang of the same. Both are very different character wise.

                Cheers !!!

True, bike in general is not bad for the Chinese quality, however the ownership cost is way too high...relatively, Yamaha, Ninja, KTM would be cheaper and they have pretty reasonable service intervals.

I would go for the 4th one. I have seen it in person, and you get some warranty too for a package. Which is good. IMO, rest are all a tad costlier.

Also 4th opt. won't void warranty as DSK tie-up Crystal. Rest opt. would void paint warranty.

Sam, I have applied ppf film instead of applying tank pad. Bought the ppf from eBay, measured it, cut and applied on my own. If someone needs the measurement, I can hand it over.
