    5. Coming to the most important point, mileage. I have driven 1000kms and spent 1.9k on petrol. (Shell V-power).

So you completed 1000kms in 27 Ltr? that seems very good mileage! 36 KMPL

I have upgraded to Osrams NBU. Works way better than the stock Philips. I changed them at the SVC itself. You can do it on your own too. If you DIY that is. Just remember it is a H7 Type and you would need two bulbs.

Thanks Binil. I will change to NBU then. Did you purchase from Amazon or local shop?

I told the same to someone and they didn't believe me. He said the manual itself says the mileage will not exceed 28kmpl.

Ill check my bank statement once again and confirm how much I have spent.

I bought it from Buy Car Accessories Shopping Online India - Autotrends.in but seems they do not have stock now. The link you posted seems legit.

I keep a tab on my bike expenses and since i have bought the bike I have got 30+ on highways. Over all average is 25kmpl over 6500kms.

After a point I keep tabs only to have an idea on the range my bike would do. Honestly it doesn't matter, what the mileage is !!
        i don't have a carbon footprint, i ride everywhere !

Fuel efficiency to a great extent depends upon

          1. Way bike is ridden. Revved hard or not?
          2. Way gears are shifted?
          3. Where it is ridden: Peak traffic hours/ Highways/ ghats

However, no matter how well a bike is ridden and how smoothly, one cannot achieve Splendor like FE on top end bikes.

              4. I have never used the back brake till date.

Why and what is the reason, you need to use both the brakes for effective braking..

Very true. I rely more on the front and less on the back. I try my best to not to use the back. I don't want to change the brake pads in no less than 15k kms. It costs a bomb. That doesn't mean I would compromise on safety. I have not bumped into any situation where I have to apply the back brake. I might fall into a situation once I get into touring.

OT: No Buddy, it would not be right if I yell your name as you were driving in traffic. I guess you were coming from the service centre.
I was waiting for the RTO agent to hand me over my RC, at last after 4.5 months I got my RC book today (after 2 reprints, thanks to the rain and the RTO guys).

I would certainly feel happy that someone recognized me.

Were you on the road opposite to me ?

OMG. 4.5 months for the RC book ? I hope you didn't get caught by the cops!

No, I was on the same side travelling towards Guindy, thats why I was able to hear the sound and identify you

4.5 months was due to mistake in the RC book print and due to the rains, the books for damaged and had to be printed again and RTO taking their sweet time for signing the papers. I was caught once by the cops and when I told them the same, They let go off me after verifying the insurance and the delivery invoice. I guess the police are little cool about these SBKs.

Good for you man. The cops didn't make an issue out of it. I remember a white 600i getting caught in Besant Nagar. I heard the cops asking for a saree guard as its a mandatory thing for bikes over 250CC.

Were you in your 600 today ? You got it ?

Hmmm..thats weird..I have seen a Z800 who came along with me during the registration also did not have a saree guard installed. Not sure if these guys install one and then remove it prior to delivering the bike to the customer. I need to ask this to the showroom guys.

Not yet, But one good news for me today is, The spares shipment has reached the SVC and I was informed that my bike is being attended today. I am hoping that the work will be completed tomorrow as major stuffs are completed, they need to install the Speedometer, Headlight assy, Taillight, rear brakes seal, Front brake calipers.

Once done, the technician will be taking it for a 10-15kms ride to ensure all the electronics are working correctly. Especially the critical things needs to be displayed on the speedo like - Our speed, coolant temp, fuel level...

So fingers crossed and cant wait to reunite with my buddy soon. Re-incarnation on the way.

Saree guard is not necessary for CBU bikes.
