Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
Hi Whenever I ride the bike with Head beam on during night times and after stopping for sometime if I push the starter button my bike doesn't start at all. I need to do a push start to bring the monster back to life and after keeping the bike on idle rpm for few minutes the Self start works. Thinking this as a battery issue I went to local battery shop to check whether the battery had got discharged, but after testing the battery with his instrument he says my bike charger is not charging the battery fully. The reading shown in meter is 12.7 @7000 rpm where as he says it should be around 14.5. just want to know if this charging rating is normal for the 300.Any one expert on bike charging system can help me out.

I'm sorry but why speed? It is not higher octane fuel, it's just regular fuel with additives.Originally posted by TheArcher84 View PostGo with BP Speed. That should be enough. Dont use normal unless you dont have an option.
I prefer/suggest to go with normal fuel from good reputed pump. Quality of fuel is the problem in India.

Don't go to local battery stores. Try getting the electuaries diagnosed at authorised service center.Originally posted by maxsarat View PostHi Whenever I ride the bike with Head beam on during night times and after stopping for sometime if I push the starter button my bike doesn't start at all. If your usage of bike is low or only city commute then battery will go down sooner. Remember, even if bike is not used battery gets discharged due to immobilizer.

I don't think TNT 300 comes with immobilizer even as option, My question is if battery is the problem or Charging unit is not properOriginally posted by Shreeni0403 View PostDon't go to local battery stores. Try getting the electuaries diagnosed at authorised service center.

Normal charging voltage of a 12 volt battery is 14.2~14.4 volts. My CBR 250 produces 14.2 volts charging voltage at 1500 RPM.Originally posted by maxsarat View PostHi Whenever I ride the bike with Head beam on during night times and after stopping for sometime if I push the starter button my bike doesn't start at all. I have tried different variants, SPEED, POWER, SHELL VPower and normal fuel including SHELL. I have got the best efficiency in SHELL Normal. Not because of fuel, but probably because of quality and accurate quantity.Originally posted by Shreeni0403 View PostI'm sorry but why speed? Benelli TNT 300 - Pannier Frames, Radiator Guard
Hello Guys,
Uploading some pictures of pannier frames I got fabricated (my fabricator helped me with the final design on ideas i had shared with him) and for my T3. I also got a mesh for my radiator done.
Thought I would share the same with you guys. Just in the process of getting it more touring friendly.
Regards,
Binil

Re: Benelli TNT 300 - Pannier Frames, Radiator Guard
Hi Binil the pannier frames looks very good on your 300, won't the radiator grill affect the air flow to the radiator as I have read in some auto magazines they advise not to install the guard. Just want your suggestion as u are one of the most experienced one riding the 300 in India.Originally posted by brokenbinil View PostHello Guys,

Re: Benelli TNT 300 - Pannier Frames, Radiator Guard
Thank buddy.Originally posted by maxsarat View PostHi Binil the pannier frames looks very good on your 300, won't the radiator grill affect the air flow to the radiator as I have read in some auto magazines they advise not to install the guard. I have been monitoring the temperature. I have not seen any change. What you mentioned is true for the conventional grills that you get in the market, from aliexpress for example. They are more aesthetic than functional, with big logos and stuff.
I have chosen a mesh for the same reason. Gives more surface area for the air to pass through.
Also thought I will add here, Its good to extend ur front mudguard before you do this. Else its a pain cleaning the mesh in case u have a slushy ride.
----consecutive posts auto-merged-----
Also please remove the pictures from ur quote above. Makes it cumbersome to read posts on mobiles.Originally posted by maxsarat View PostHi Binil the pannier frames looks very good on your 300, won't the radiator grill affect the air flow to the radiator as I have read in some auto magazines they advise not to install the guard. I share your views and echo what you mentioned about the servicing cost for a 300 cc bike, that is way too high and the DSK guys say that the warranty voids if you do not follow the service intervals, which are too short.
I just wonder, do the engine oil really need a change after 4k km running? We put Motul's synthetic oil which usually do 8k km.
Extended warranty is a trap to lure you for another two years. They fail to assist you sincerely in first place, during your initial 2 year warranty and tell you reasons for not covering under warranty.
Let's unit all TNT300i owners and fight together.Originally posted by brokenbinil View PostI agree with you on the 8k kms oil change. If not 8 atleast 6k km is valid for all good synthetic oils. I have tried talking to them multiple times. Not much of help. I am not falling for the extended warranty ploy. That will only force me to go there again and again in the name of warranty.
I am very happy with the bike. 12800km done so far.
Cannot say the same about cost of ownership though.
Yes The bike is awesome no second thoughts about it.
Even i feel 6k or 6 Months which ever is earlier is good. With Service Cost of Rs 1500.00
Actually wanted to do an excel sheet with cost of other bikes in same category with following details .
1> Service Cost (Labor)
2> Oil Required and grade
3> Oil Change Interval /Service Interval
4> Cost of Oil Filter.
5> Cost of Brake pads Front and rear .
6> Cost of Brake and accelerator Cable.
7> Cost of Chain and Sprocket.
We can Include 1> Yamaha R3, 2> Kawasaki 250, 3> Ninja 300 4> CBR 250 5> KTM 390
As 6k for a Service is too much for a 300 CC bike is Rip off that also every 4 Months. Hope everyone agrees on this view.

Would be fair to compare R3 / Z250 & N300 with the TNT 300 ... lets skip the single cylinders as the rest are manufactured in India and ownership costs will differ. You can include the Hyosung 250 s in the list ... basically all the twins in the segment ...
