Givi Rear Rack and Monokey Trekker box with Universal Adapter Plate installed.

My box came in this weekend and I decided to install the rear rack. Installation of the rack took me 55 minutes with all the necessary hand tools. It fits pretty well. I did have to play with it a little to get some of the holes to line up, but it didn't require any surgery.

I spent another 30 minutes installing the universal monokey plate. I was a bit crazy about making sure it was on straight, so that took some extra time.

After the install I took it on a test ride over some pretty rough roads to see how it held up. It's solid. I'm happy with it for sure. The box is heavy duty. This is the first hard case that I've owned, I've traveled the soft luggage in the past, so this thing was a little surprising. The build quality is very good and I'm confident that it will hold up for some time yet.

I also confirmed that the pannier racks DO work with this Trekker box despite what the vendors say. Their claim is that only the E22N boxes fit these racks, which is hogwash. I held off on ordering more Trekker boxes for the sides until I confirmed this. Now that I know, I'm still on the fence about getting more Trekker boxes. They're not cheap and would only be used on trips, which I won't be doing until my license plate comes at the end of the year (supposedly). Also, I do a lot of filtering here in the city, so they wouldn't be used during the week. I may go with the cheaper E22N boxes (I can get the pair of E22N boxes for $100 less than one Trekker box) and use the Trekker as my top box for now. We shall see.

Yes, I know my bike is dirty...too dirty.

The rear mudguard is not what I would call "adequate" for the rainy season.

      1. The gap in the mudguard under the number plate causes mud to accumulate under the number-plate light. Also the number plate is covered in muck in no time, when riding in rain.
      2. The sides on the mudguard is not wide enough. Hence mud and rain water splashes on to the pillion seat or the pillion's thighs if there is a pillion sitting.

I did not want to just bolt on a rubber flap as it would look out of place and may not work as expected. Hence I arranged a set of BTwin Cycle mudflaps and retro fitted the same using the existing fasteners to give it a clean and functional form.

Have tested the same in recent rains and it works as expected.
I got my Benelli last month..For the rear have you used the front or rear mud flaps from Btwin.I plan to fix one for the front as it gets really messy during the rains and then also get two fixed in the rear like you did.

Hello Guys, Its been a long time..Happy to be here again. A little update on my 4th paid service. Oil and oil filter has changed, service person told that the spark plugs and air filter can be changed during next service as its all doing good. Cost me 7K overall. Met with an accident near by my home today, just went and dashed with a truck face to face, its all my fault as i was very lethargic, thank god iam safe with some sprained wrist and scratches. My bike had absorbed the vital impact, front tyre got bursted due to the impact(PSI was normal), front fender got broken in two pieces. The RSA people were very resposive and the communication throughout the scenario was good, within half an hour they reached my place. My bike is now at SVC again. Since i need to change my front tyre, can anyone suggest me which brand can i go for?? Metzeler, Pirelli, MRF or Michelin? now iam little bit sceptical about the withstanding nature of Pirelli after my incident, because i was doing approximately 15-20Kmph during the impact, how come a tyre with such elevated reputation could tore just like that??

Glad to hear that you are ok! Head on with a truck huh? That must have been heart stopping. I have had a few close calls here in the city. Definitely not fun.

I had Michelin Pilot 2s on my 675 many years back and was very happy with them. Very nice wet grip and good longevity. They just announced that version 4 is coming very soon. I would look for discounts on the 3s as dealers might be looking to unload their stock.

Hey Good to know that you are ok. The tyre could have burst due to impact and took all the brunt of the hit. Considering it was frontal impact. The good thing is u walked away.
Tyre - Considering you are not changing the rear tyre, it's best recommended to stick to the same brand and tyre as your other tyre. And as this is an accident case you can claim insurance for the tyre too. If you buy from outside you will end up paying extra for the tyre.

Not very noticeable in lower revs but go beyond 8000 rpm... It's whole new level of harmony. It revs much faster, expected due to close to 30% increase in airflow.
Effect in fuel efficiency, too soon to comment.

                      Hi All,

After a year or so now i feel that there is lot of pressure i am putting on my palm while riding and especially on my right palm, and now i am thinking of changing my handle bar. The other idea i was thinking off is to get a handle bar riser to be fixed.

I am asking for suggestions from you guys what should i do. I am looking for more relaxed ride and which will help me in the city traffic too. Any DIY can be done would be really great.

                      Thanks

Considering you have been using for over a year, I do not think it is a posture issue. What could be a problem is the cone set or issues with the fork.
Get it checked in the SVC.

See if the bike is pulling to one side if u leave both hands off the handle bar.

Just adding a link to a video explaining riding positions.

According to what u inferred from your text was that you are putting your weight on your hands. I used to do it too when riding Low handle bar bikes. My palms also used to pain and my palm used to get red horizontally across, where the weight would apply.

Now I've realized how to actually position myself and it's a whole new experience.
I am comfortable even riding more aggressive seating vehicles like R15 or RC.

                            Hope it helps.

There are shops which can repair that. But to be future proof, if suggest getting a new one.
But as long as it isn't leaking air, it's fine
