I don't have a circuit diagram handy. I am in between shifting houses. I can try and share one after that, sometime next week.

      Hello Brother,

I have a doubt regarding one aspect "THE REAR BRAKE PADS of Benelli 300"
Ive checked with Benelli Showroom and they seem to tell the cost is 3800, In some posts here i have found the price quoted as some 1200 approx and here you mentioned it as 690/-.

Can you please let me know whats the actual price of them?

      Thanks in advance.

I Have a benelli TNT300 Since more than a year now, am very happy with the Bike and its performance.
Now everyone has written the review i will keep it simple.

Reason for Purchase: I had booked a Bullet 500 and was never fan of Japaneses bikes, and Ducati and other brands are not affordable for me. The day i took the Test ride of the bike fell in love with the bike. Ajinkya from DSK Pune helped me with the Purchase. Then I Cancelled the Bullet booking. Purchase was smooth.
Took the Delivery of the bike on 30th April 2016.

      Service Costs

      1> First Service Cost 3500 (1200 kms)
      2> Second Service Cost : 2750 (1800 kms)
      3> Third Service Cost : 4800 (5700 kms )
4> Fourth Service Cost : 6600(8950 kms) (Changed Rear break pads 690 is the Cost)

Changed Clutch lever once cost Rs 450 and labor Rs 200.

      Issues Faced :
1> Front left fork started leaking just a day after my third service: Called the Customer care, they arranged for the pickup and bike got repaired under warranty.
They charged me some Rs 180 for the Oil. Rest was free.
2> Sometimes used to give starting trouble, the mechanic sprayed the WD40 to the starting switch on handle bar and issue got solved. I wonder this never happened to my scooter in last five years.

Mileage am getting is around 27 km/lit mixed highway and city. Highways around 29/30 km/lit
      Top speed i did : 171 km/hr Speedo indicated.

Long trips done: Dombivli - Goa -Dombivli
      #/4 Pune tips
Rest all small rides to Malshej, Lonaval and charoti and few on Nh3

      What i like:
      + Excellent power delivery.
      +Sound
      + Mileage
+ Excellent riding position, and perfect seat height.
      + Excellent for highway cruising.
+ Looks, one of the best in the segments, it looks much bigger that what actually bike is.

      What i dont like:

      - Very basic instrument cluster, it feels cheap very cheap.
      - Too soft seat for my liking, seat should be firm.
      - Switch gear is very avg.
      - Service: Andheri Service Center was bad. Thane is good
-Service intervals and service Cost: Thats too high for a 300 CC bike. We should all come forward and fight with DSK.

Extended warranty is a trap from DSK.
They should do something about the Service cost and service interval, then only it makes seance ow min service cost just labor is 2700 that doesn't makes sense.
      But warranty is really tempting.

As other bikes in the same cat like R3, Ninja, CBR , KTM are much cheaper to service.

Otherwise bike makes my hearth beat faster .

1200 was the old price of Rear Brake Pads - only in the first year after launch.
690 is the cost of the front break pads.
3800 is the present price of the rear brake pads.

          Hi Binil,

          Thanks for your quick response.

3800 for Brake Pads, i wonder if they are made of Gold!! Is there any alternative for this apart from purchasing from the showroom.

I need your suggestion on purchasing a 2nd hand [Benelli 300 of May 2017 with 12k on ODO] vs [Benelli 300 of Aug 2016 with 7k on ODO]
The Rear pads needed to be changed on both, rest all are fine.

And i am curious to know about 2 things.

1: Does all older and newer Benelli models come along with a 4 year warranty. If not how much does the extended warranty cost??
2: The Benelli 300 exhaust pipes right below the radiator look roasted to me like rusted iron, ive seen this on quite a few bikes. So i wonder does that happen if the bike is subject to overheating and will that be an issue ??

Any help on the above will be much appreciated..

3800 because they're sintered? I believe the Kawasaki ninja 300/400 pads cost around the same for being sintered.

That's correct. The cheaper options you get are organic pads, which are noisy and don't last long.

                1. As far as I'm aware all new bikes come With a four year warranty.

Old bikes had extended warranty option which could be bought in service center. Not sure if they are available now.

                2. Exhaust pipe coloring to dirty brown is normal, especially during rains. As mud splashes on the pipe and water evaporates leaving a layer of baked mud. It's quite easy to clean. Just rub some harpic and leave it for a while n wash it off using the green scotch brite.

                  hey binil,

Do check the attached picture of exhaust, do u think its just dirt and could be easily cleaned using the technique you mentioned earlier??

Yes, It looks similar to what I had mentioned. I have experimented with VIM - Harpic & even Brasso :P - Getting a mudguard extension helps reduce the mud accumulation.

It's probably the size also. Not too sure what type it is. I have not changed mine yet.

No chain sprocket replacement no brake pad replacement even after 25k kms.
This guy knows how to ride a bike and maintain it! You should really post few suggestions on riding styles and tips to maintenance.

I have done 1 lac kms on TVS apache chain sprocket is replaced only once. I ride normally no hard acceleration no hard gear shifts. I have done 7k kms regular chain clean and lube after every 500kms, and I am getting a noise from chain during acceleration (like it is rubbing against some surface) . After full inspection I noticed that it is tight from some places and loose from some places even after adjusting it. Looks like I may need to replace it will check with SVC guys. Now I cant figure out cause of this, may be its because of incorrect adjustment. Can you guys please shed some light on this?

                          Thanks,
                          Abhishek

                            Hello Fellow Riders

Firstly.. I must thank you guys so much for all the information based discussions going on here, which helped a lot to make a decision and finalize TNT 300.
This would be my third journey with a motorcycle.. Owning a CBZ Star and then RE Thunderbird 350 TS, i always wished that my next touring partner should be bit heavier on the kerb weight, a little more bhp's than my previous ones and one of the most important requirement was having a pillion comfortable seat.

For some reason i had completely missed out looking benelli as an option during my initial research, when one fine night i came across some comparison video of a ktm duke 390 with benelli tnt 300, and boy.. didnt i find my all requirements fitting into one fine machine !!!
I circled out the twos.. duke 390 and tnt 300, took test rides of both.. And i'll be honest here, i almost opted and compromised with duke 390 over the major point of maintenance requirements of tnt 300 over period of years. But then again.. there's a cost of ownership of a premium bike, though its bit on the higher side thou. But at the same time what i would be getting is a nice tank like built bike which i would be using for over a long period of years, a linear thrust and a machine which would run flawlessly (hopefully) over few hundreds of kms.

Going through all possible review videos from India and abroad, i finally bumped into this thread. Reading it all from start to end.. it pretty much gave be a boost to own one of these tnt 300 out there. I was initially told that there's no ABS model available here in Surat showroom, but when i booked the bike couple of days back, i was booked with a ABS model, black color The waiting period is for almost twenty days on account of change in the year and the bike is expected to arrive by or before last week of Jan.

I also had a brief conversation with the owner for showroom here, the service guys and they all helped me out with all the queries i had. I got a decent deal at around 3.89 for a black colored ABS model which will also include IXIL exhaust. These are the most exciting times for any motorcycle enthusiasts. Hoping to receive the bike sooner than expected and post the entire experience with pictures of course. Glad to be part of this thread already.

                            Regards

                              Good Choice brother.

I recently completed a 2500 kms trip on my 300. Of which I did 950 kms and 700 kms on 2 consecutive days.
The bike was loaded with my luggage and I was able to do highway speeds all day long.
The bike performed flawlessly thru out.

You will surely be happy with the 300.

Sounds like a chain wearing issue. How many kms have you done. It could be incorrect adjustment issue.
