Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
In this country, they look for any possible reason to void a warranty. With that in mind, I let them sort it out.
The error code was for the oxygen sensor, which turned out to be dirty. They blamed it on bad fuel and a lot of carbon buildup in the header. I reminded them that it was THEIR demo bike and I got it with 1000km on it. I have put fuel in it 3 times since I bought it and only buy premium. I saw the change in the managers face and he quickly changed his tune.
Thanks for the comment. It's spot on.

Must be the rim, because im too facing this problem on my R15. I have a small bend on my rim and it wobbles at around 80kph but above 95 its not there.Originally posted by samhassan View PostYeah its well balanced...no issue as of now except high speed Maneuvering.
btw make sure your top triple tree is dead straight while the bike is going straight.Last edited by christo; 11-22-2017, 09:14 PM.Yamaha YZF-R15

Trust me, it's the same everywhere. First scapegoat is the customer himself.Originally posted by ThirtyOne View PostIn this country, they look for any possible reason to void a warranty. With that in mind, I let them sort it out.

I have bought 2 new vehicles in my lifetime. Both were motorcycles and both were here in Tegucigalpa. My Honda 250 Tornado ran flawlessly and never needed any warranty work. They insisted that I come for oil changes to keep the warranty, but back then it was a 3 hour ride. So, basically, I would need to ride from the dealership to my house, ride it for a week and then turn around and ride back to the capital and that would complete one service interval. It was so silly that I decided to trust Honda's reliability. It ran flawlessly for 2 years. The second was this Benelli. Having heard plenty of warranty claim issues from friends and family over the years, I fully expected them to threaten to cancel the warranty for checking the tire pressure on my own. But, I'm fully prepared to go straight to the manufacturer if the dealership is giving me the runaround.
On a side note, the bike is running better. No hiccups. I will be taking it out of the city tomorrow to visit some friends up north. 2.5 hour ride each way through mountain passes. Some of the best riding in the country. The engine is more broken in and it feels just a little stronger than it did 1000km ago. Now the odometer is at 2100 km.

Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
Took the bike to Lago de Yojoa for fried fish. Left at 10am and got home at 4pm. Properly thrashed the bike today. Lots of 4-5-6th gear, 85-110kph long sweeping mountain curves. Bike ran very well.

I had posted an issue of air leaking from the mouth (bottom of the air nozzle /rim mouth) of the my wheel.I was able to find the root cause. When we fill air at a air filling station they use two types of air fillers. One is a short round one found mostly in Puncture shops and a long one which is like a handle. If this long one is used to fill air then the air nozzle needs to be bent as the sprocket and brake disc obstruct it.This could damage the mouth at rim base allowing air to leak.
For the benefit of all riders in the group I suggest get air filled using the round filler.

Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
I faced a similar issue, with my air nozzle leaking air from the pin. When i examined I also noticed that the rubber nozzle had developed cracks, probably due to constant bending. I got mine replaced at a store near my place. Now no leakages.Originally posted by Max Mridul View PostI had posted an issue of air leaking from the mouth (bottom of the air nozzle /rim mouth) of the my wheel.I was able to find the root cause.

Funny Incident at Bangalore DSK Benelli SVC
Gave my bike for my 8th Service at the Bangalore SVC.
Few mins into the service, one of the service engineers came u to me and said that my bikes cone set is gone and needs to be replaced.
I am someone who is very aware of whats happening with my bike and I was sure the cone set did not have any issues. Hence, I told him, I have no issue with the handling or steering the bike, please don't do anything to the cone set. The engineer still insisted, sir your handle bar feels very tight. We should replace it.
Told the guy to complete the service and we will check in a test run.
Turns out his identification of symptom was correct. The handle did feel tight.
The root cause was something else all together. Yes, it was not the cone set.
I asked the guy to check the air pressure in the front tire. The air pressure was around 5 psi less in the front tire.
He filled air and rode the bike. He was all smiles, "Cone set, no problem sir. I will keep this in mind, here on."
His diagnosis was not well thought off.

Re: Funny Incident at Bangalore DSK Benelli SVC
I have noticed same thing. Even test ride bike felt the same so I thought its normal. Within 1 week after I gt my bike I used nitrogen instead of normal air and the difference is noticeable. Since then whenever I feel handle is tight I check tire pressure. I usually check it before my rides or after 600-700 kms/1 Month. Normal Air/ Nitrogen whatever it is keep tire pressure in check, these small things helps.Originally posted by brokenbinil View PostGave my bike for my 8th Service at the Bangalore SVC.

Till date.Originally posted by ABPatwardhan View PostCost of 8th service? which parts replaced?

1. Tyres - Changed to Metz M7RR, only because I was not getting Pirelli Angel GTs - But the Metz are super tyres. Curvy profile makes the bike more flickable. Very sticky so I do not expect it to last as much as the angels. My Angel STs lasted me for about 23500kms. I still had may be around 2000kms left on the rear tyres. I changed both front and rear together.
2. Rear Break Pads - on my 4th set since i bought the bike. last set replaced at 22000kms. Bikes done around 28000kms now.
3. Clutch Cable replaced once.
4. Air Filter and Oil Filter as recommended. Now moved to DNA AIr Filters so no change required.
nothing else replaced as part of wear and tear.

Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
I had spoke with the SVC guys about my front wheel wobbling...they took the bike for a spin and found out that the handle bar is twisted a little...i askd them is there any way to solve this but they suggest me to change the whole set which costs around 4k plus labour..but it wasn't look like that much big issue for me to change the entire set, so i came from ther wid half mind and seeking for some miracle to happen...i said miracle right?? On the way i was happen to go to "pudhupeattai" a specialized automobile area in chennai where you can get any spare parts in cheap(means scraped from old bikes or cars). Actually i went to get shock absorbers for my apache...i told a mechanic about the handle and is there anything he could help with, he just had a little smile on his face and asked me to show my bike, he just had a look from the front of the bike with a little tilted head, steered the handle left to right on standing position...believe me he didnt even took it for a ride, i wasn't realy in a thought to give my bike to them, but the way he diagnosed gave some confidence, i was watching keenly and waiting for his reply..he told it can be solved but he wasn't sure because unlike normal handle this one is made of aluminium which tends to broke if handeled inappropriate...so i asked him to gave a try but request him not to break it..he took it to the leath and took one hour to get the job done...he came with the handle and installed it, asked me to go for a ride, i cant even believe it, it was perfectly alright and one of my friend took it for a spin again to double check the correction...he was also happy with it., i thank god for everything and payed only 350rs for it. The guy made my day ofcourse...i was very much worried about the money i had spent for the bike last month, it went out of my budget, service, tyre, front fender and now this handlebar.. That taught me always to have some buffer for unexpected things. I was realy wondered about the SVC guys, if they cant do anything with the issue, atleast they would've guide me to look for any other alternative...they are not even ready to diagnose the core problem, the first thing they suggest you is to change it as if it costs cheap..this is what the same thing happend with the bent rim, but its still running well and holding air with no issue..these incidents makes me lost confidence on SVC guys. Hope the things will change in future.

Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
Yes handle bar bends can be repairs in a lathe to quite an extent. Usually the worry is with the new model bikes where the handle bars are not made of steel. Still, there is a possibility of correction. Now, regarding svc. 95% of the time an svc will always look at spares usage. That's how they earn money, right? But yeah instead of telling u a quote of 4k, they should have tried with just the aane bar replacement. It would have been less than 2k and the deed would have been done.Originally posted by samhassan View PostI had spoke with the SVC guys about my front wheel wobbling...they took the bike for a spin and found out that the handle bar is twisted a little...i askd them is there any way to solve this but they suggest me to change the whole set which costs around 4k plus labour..but it wasn't look like that much big issue for me to change the entire set, so i came from ther wid half mind and seeking for some miracle to happen...i said miracle right??
