  • Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience

An update - I went today to the Kochi dealership to try and negotiate the price or get some freebie...No luck ..all he gave me was 10% off on the Sliders...I asked him about the 302S, he says it will not come this year. So thats settled.

The more interesting one was when I asked him the issue of DSK happening and what is going to happen in the future ....He told me that Benelli is withdrawing the tie up with DSK and going it alone...He said by this month end the issue will be sorted out ...

That made my day ! ...So went ahead and booked the last TNT 300 they had to sell.

From the next batch on there is a 5% increase on all models . So the TNT 300 will go up by around 17 k and the 600i by 30k...!!

This is because the additional 5% tax on CKD coming to effect for all fresh despatches from the factory.

        Binil,

I have been searching for a windshield for my 300. I could not locate one in aliexpress which is reliable...The links in the backpages are alll expired.

I would like to your assisstance in these if you have time to spare. Windshield, Aux lights and Phone holder ....yes, everything is there in aliexpress or amazon, but if someone is using a brand or from a supplier and is satifsied ,I would rather buy from there than risk a new guy....And I am an absolute newbie in these things.

        Thanks

Two days back I had put in a request for 3 crash guards and saddle stays to Zana to which they replied that benellis are hard to find I guess they have finally started to look for one.

Congrats Vnsk, finally you took the plunge, something I wanted to do from a very long time. Wish you many miles of smiles with the bike. Which color did you go for? Please share pics and first ride experience as well.

I am more interested in the part where you said that Benelli is looking to seperate themselves from DSK all togehter. I don't know what impact would it make, I hope its for good only.

          Few queries
          1. Are you sure that they are going to launch 302S by next year?
          2. What was the exshowroom price for ABS version?
          3. Is it BS-4 compliant?
          4. Also, what mods apart from windshield you are looking for?
          5. Will you go with aftermarket exhausts?

I am so angry and pissed , I dont know what to do....Yesterday I had gone to the Kochi dealer with my wife. I wanted a white one, and they had this last one piece in the show room...The manager and the sales guy told me that 2 or 3 are serious about it. Told him I will transfer the booking amount immediately, as I want to take the bike by Saturday and I transfered the amount on the way back to my office.

Now the sales guy calls me 10 mts back to say, Sorry they are giving the bike to someone else because he paid the full amount now....Now, I have to wait another month , not to mention an increase of Rs. 18000 ...The guys explanation ? Its not the booking, but who pays first the full amount gets the bike ! ! ! !

            Now to your query :

            1. Thats what the manager told me, only next year
            2. The current ex showroom is 3.29 lakkhs ( a 5% increase in the next lot from the factory)
            3. Didnt check...will check and let you know
            4. My list - Windshield, Viaterra saddle bags, hand guard, tank pad, bike cover, Aux lights, Mobile holder, Groller portable stand, Btwin Mudflaps....this was my list...

Now ....I am not so sure with the price increase its worth it....With all the accessories including 2 helmets , 2 jackets and a riding glove, I had budgetd 4.65 lakhs....Of course , my plan was to spread it out in the next few months...

I will visit the dealer tomorrow and see...or else go for a used one....Cant get a used one from outside Kerala, as you have to pay the road tax again here.....

The cost is for 3rd service onwards
Goes upto 8th service, totalling 6 services or upto 28000kms

So now the wait is for a month....There was some confusion regarding the last bike and finally they had to give it to another guy.....The next lot with increased prices will come only mid April......

Prassy - can you reattach the service cost list ( high res)? The dealer here has told me that the plan is 3 services 9000 and 6 services 18000 for TNT 300. The projected savings is about 35% according to him...I was planning to take the 6 service package along with the bike

I wonder this has any significance for Benelli fans or prospective buyers.

Am from Ahmedabad. This morning I rode down to inquire regarding TNT300 and Aquila 250. To my surprise, I was informed by the security guards there that the dealership/showrooms for both Benelli and Hyosung have closed down for good. I don't think there's a shift in the location since these properties were just right for the purpose. Ducati and BMW showrooms are right beside.

Just thought I should share this bit here on the forum.

                        * Windshield - Many have been using this one in Bangalore. - Windshield - If you want known brands - PUIG Rafale - I was using this.

                        * Phone Holder - I am using the RAM Mount - It's expensive at around 4K a unit but the phone will not even vibrate at 150kmph. Other mounts (Rynox & Zeus) I have used, they vibrated so much that you can't really see the screen. - RAM Mount

                        * AUX Lights - This is the one I am using from AliExpress . These are really good value for the buck. These are also good. Branded stuff - You have Rigid Industries, Denalli, & Baja - All very expensive.

We enquired about Aquila Pro 650 last week for a friend. They told us that they are shifting their showroom, and they will be back in 2 months in a nearby posh locality. And when we contacted Ahemdabad dealer, he showed specific interest in selling their older stock for a discounted price.. when asked for newer models, he insisted that they might not arrive before a month or two.

And they told us that the Surat and Ahmedabad showroom are owned by same dealers for Hyosung (Tangible Motors)

But, Surat Benelli guys are selling models like Hot Cakes. Specifically TNT 600i.

I plan to visit them in coming days for a small service query and would ask same about ongoing DSK issue.

The PUIG worked very well. The only problem is I travel will my wife a lot, and the pillion gets more turbulence because of the visor. Hence removed it.
The AliExpress one, I have personally not used it, but people in bangalore seem pleased about it.
